    Oh, a tip! If you're having trouble navigating rail networks with a lot of little turns you can miss: You can use the train map and then ctrl-click on the section of track you want to go to in order to use the automatic rail navigation to avoid having to manually steer, it feels REALLY good to use that to get back to the front lines in the event you bite it when biter-wrangling, or even just to remove the need fro you to hold W as you can then use that time to plan your next move and look over your inventory as you move around the factory to expand it

      factorio is naturally a brain intensive game, even when you’re on autopilot, so having interruptions where the brain is just completely off is nice (esp in edited video like this where all the high intensity is condensed)

    At 30:55 you paste down a blueprint and re-blueprint it to remove stuff. You can just delete stuff straight from the blueprint by right clicking in that preview menu (as the tooltip in the top right says)

    the priority of train deliveries is based on distance, a train will pick the shortest route to the next available trainstop.

    you can use pumps to make priority for fluids, pump to tank and set it to work when the fluid is less than 100k for example

      You don't even need combinators. Just wire the pump to the tank, and have it be on the input side that you want to be low-priority. Set it to run when the tank drops below a certain amount, and you're good.

    Other people have mentioned that Bob's inserters are slower if they have to change the radius of the inserter - if they don't, though, (such as if you just have two tiles forward and two back, like a long handed inserter normally does), two rows of stack inserters moving from warehouse to train can actually outpace loaders. Depending on the tier of loader and the level of stack inserter research you have, anyways. Even more so if you have the inserters going from two corners of their ranges, basically doubling their speed on top of normal, since they only need to turn 90 degrees rather than 180.
    Technically, the max inserters moving from one warehouse into an adjacent (also 6 long) inventory is 36, and you can get them working in excess of the speed 72 normal stack inserters would move items between the two... Bob's inserters gets wild when you really min max it. Even just 12 stack inserters from warehouse to train can be crazy good though. The faster it is, the uglier it looks, of course.

      If one desires the math on it - to keep it simple, we'll look into using stack inserters like long handed ones, and looking them going corner to corner.
      For two long handed inserters, with the turn rate of either stack or fast inserters:
      They outpace a yellow belt at stack size greater than 4, a red belt at stack size greater than 7, and a blue belt at stack size greater than 10.
      For corner to corner, so covering half the total angular distance:
      They outpace a yellow belt at stack size 2 (fast inserters could pull that off), outpace a red at stack size 4, outpace a blue at stack size 5, would outpace green (60/s, if I remember right) at 7, and at 10 can outpace purple in K2, which is also Deep Space belts in plain Space Exploration, at 90/s.

    When laying belts, you don’t need to swap to under ground, just hold your mouse button and drag, they will be placed automatically when the belt encounters an obstacle. Saves a ton of time

    About Bob's Inserters speed: inserters which change distance are slower than inserters which do not. Many of your train station inserters are doing 1 tile pickup, 2 tile drop off. If you instead set them to do 2 tile pick up 2 tile drop off (which you can do since both your train and your warehouse are at least 2 tiles wide) then they will move faster for the same resources. For inserters with 180 degree movement with only a one tile difference, it doesn't matter, but it can matter for narrower angles. Nilaus has a good video about Bob's inserter speed.

    I said this on the last video but using so many miniloaders is absolutely going to kill your UPS, especially since your 6 to 1 loader setup effectively limits you to consumption of 1 yellow belt at a time, since you can only load trains at a rate of one yellow belt at a time.

    For the blueprint changing, you can also just click on the parts while looking at the blueprint to "ghost" them and they'll be removed when you save it, easier than pasting it down just to remove parts.

    8:50 There absolutely is a way to do priority inputs with fluids, actually. Just have the low-priority input go through a pump into a fluid tank, connect a logic wire between the pump and the tank, and set the pump to only run if the tank drops below a certain level.
    Completely vanilla, completely functional.

      If you flip it around and set a pump to output from a tank when it's above a certain level, you get the basic "overflow valve" circuit that's typically used for oil cracking only your excess heavy and light oil.

    You can set random stops on the tracks with Carl+click on the map. stack inserters are cheaper and faster when pulling from a warehouse especially after a few stack upgrades in SE, you could also just set the train stop to always be at 1 train but then enable/disable the stop by reading the warehouse, it saves a step in the logic and you don’t need the extra building.

    Using relative tiling for solar / accumulators / mine blueprints allows you to quickly drag them without problem instead of having to manually place them. And chunk aligned rail blueprints using absolute tiling are quite useful.

    Tip for blueprints, you can right click entities in the blueprint GUI to remove them, and if you make a mistake while doing that you can left click on it to re-add it

    I find that when using adjustable inserters, there's a few ways to boost the speed
    Biggest one is to avoid extending or retracting which is often noticably slower than swinging the arm, pick up and drop to tiles the same distance away.
    Another one is to insert at angles, for example, instead of picking up rear -> dropping front, switching inserters to pick up rear-left -> drop front-left will half the rotation needed to swing the arm around.

    Also whilst I am not sure about this I believe you can turn pumps on and off with circuits and use this to control fluids I.e potentially prioritising core miner fluids (not sure if this is how it works but I believe I saw it used in a advanced oil setup)

    For core mining fluids, a possible solution is to use a circuit controlled pump that can turn off the supply from oil wells if the oil from core mining gets above a certain threshold value.

    thx for the playthrough, just a small tip, the rotation speed of inserters also influences the adjustment of the length, so keeping the radius about equal from pick-up to drop-off makes them faster and less, uhm, bendy.

      @@listerman yes, exactly friend of mine played around with this and made gross looking inserter hubs with the longest arms and smallest angles to increase the speed as much as possible, like putting 3 long inserters between beltweavings to fill beaconed electric furnaces.

    I have a tip! You can make Bob's Inserters move a lot faster and not that much wobgoobly if you change the drop locations and make them do some V shapes. If they pick the item 3 blocks to the left, it's faster to move one or two down than to go back to center and deposit in the default down position. I hope I made myself understandable 😅.     idk how far you're in the play through at this current moment, but you can priorities the fluids from the core mining with logistics cables.
    By connecting a tank to a pump which comes from oil field you can set that to only pump when you have less than 50% of the tank filled.
    Anything over that 50% will be filled by the core miner and the 50% limit can always be lowered

    i use a mod called train control signals, which lets you set up stops that skip if the fuel is full enough just by adding an icon to the name, and depos that auto skip if the next station is full

    dudem you can go on the rail map and use CTRL + Left Mouse Button on ANY rail on the rail map and go there and the train will go back on it normal schedule, it's a one time order that you can use to trains and it will automatic go there and forget why it's there and go back to it's normal schedule

    If you click upgrader, then open inventory you can put it there. Then you can right click it and filter it. You can make it only change belts, undergrounds and splitters ect. Oh you can also use upgrader to downgrade stuff.

    The basics of LTN is as follows: The Logistic Train Station has a light and a combinator on it. The light's the input, and the combinator is the output. Tie a negative value to the lamp to make it bring trains with that thing in. Tie a depot signal in to mark as a depot, where trains go between tasks (good for fueling). Tie positive values into the lamp to mark as supplying.
    So the simple setup is fuel at your depots, and then tie the storages at a station to the lamp, and if a station needs an item, also tie a constant combinator with the negative of the amount you want to the same lamp. Then the station will balance it so the amount in the storages is about the amount requested (since they'll add and cancel out)
    The advantage is a few trains can cover a large factory, since they can be used for whatever needs it, as needed
    Of course, there's more to do. Combinator signals can also set priority of a station, which is pretty important here. Also, the combinator on the station can be used to read the type of cars the train has, and what the train expects to hold when it is done at the station

    2:30 looks like you dont know left click + R shortcut for belts, this one changed my life when I read about it
    9:00 fluid priority: connect sources L (low priority) and H (high priority) to a tank. L input needs a pump. Connect the pump to the tank with a red or green cable and set condition: [fluid] < some amount. This way, L fluid will come in only when the fluid volume is low, H is always flowing in. That's how you handle fluids byproduct loops (or you use a mod with valves i guess)

    At 29:48 you mention having to go to a train stop, did you know you can ctrl click on any point on the rail network and the train will add a temporary stop and go to it. Very useful when navigating rail networks with difficult intersections :)

    54:33 fast inserters are slow when they have to extend/shorten (in oter words when they pick from close tile and place to farther tile). But if they just rotate - they are much faster. Try selecting two closest and farthest tile when you have the research unlocked, and you'll see how fast they are

    just an fyi: its worth bot rushing because space pipes are the work of masochists do almost everything by bot or train in space, minimize belts and ESPECIALLY SPACE PIPES(unless you enjoy having a underground length the same as yellow belts)
    EDIT: fluids become very prevalent in se after you reach space so choose early between bots transporting fluids or trains transporting fluids i personally recommend bot because most fluids are used in smallish amounts and some recipes have like 3 fluid inputs and 2 fluid outputs(also god help you with bio science)

    Really like this series and hope you win the race with the DLC, but just giving you a heads up, some of the stuff (IIRC buffer and active provider chests) are locked behind going to space. Roboports, logistics/construction bots, and IIRC passive provider chests are still there earlier though.

    I like how you use loaders to make simple, better splitters. I may consider using double header trains, I dislike that one locomotive is always a dead weight, but yeah, those train stations are simple, and in the end, you can just throw more trains, I think. I am not sure about odd number of wagons, though.
    However the bendy boys, they shouldn't bend. You should keep same inserter distance in and out, since changing distance is slower than rotating. Also, usually it's best to have them load 90 deg, with warehouse to train you can achieve that too, using diagonal directions. Unless you made them bendy for memes, then well, I respect that.
    And you can go into train preview and ctrl-click on rail to get your train to ride where you want. Or shift click to add permanent train station to schedule.

    they a pretty cool mod that I been using with some friends that let you make a list of task and people can accept them so you less of an issue with people doing the same jobs
    looking forward to how this goes Im doing a SE run with some buddies but I don't have Krastorio 2 installed

    Bob's inserters go much slower if the pickup and dropoff locations aren't the same radial distance from the center because stretching is slow, so yeah bendy bois are bad, make them pick up or drop off farther away.

      I used some music that I later found out was copyrighted. When I compile the entire series into a single video, I'm planning to "remaster" these parts with new music/voiceover.
