EPISODE 2 is OUT NOW - ua-cam.com/video/B-91YHxuR0A/v-deo.html ! I can't believe it's finally happening! I'm so excited to dive in here, and I cannot BELIEVE the luck I had with this start. This episode has me going over some of the mechanics that stand out in the early game, but future episodes will certainly pick up the pace (and maybe have more of the editing you see in the latter parts of this video). Really excited to try and force myself into a more organic approach, and seeing how our little town evolves over time as we grow. Let me know your thoughts below, as always!
@@ietsbram Yeah that one felt a bit too "exact". All the more accurate options I found were too recognizable as just being words and didn't feel like names. Next time, next time.
The hype is real! This honestly looks like a game that they've put some great love and care into making, and really letting you get immersed in a medieval world like never before. Other games have got close, but this game seems like it will be the next Kingdom Come Deliverance level of immersion and accuracy.
Feels like an eternity since I watched you a play a Let's Play series, I've missed it very much! The architecture screams medieval alsace to me and I love it!
So chuffed to see a new series on the channel. All hail the return of Party!! And it's with Manor Lords no less! So nice to hear how much joy this game brings you already. Can't wait to see how this series develops, will be watch every episode avidly! Totally agree with the idea of leaning into organic pathing, might be an idea to really try to follow the contours of the land as much as possible as that seems like it would fit with how people tend to trample paths themselves. It was funny to see how quickly Party's attempt to outthink the game was thwarted by thieves. Though establishing a militia once we have a church might make for a good story beat.
I can't friggin wait to play this myself. The fact that I still have to wait almost 2 full weeks is almost physically painfull. Haven't been as hyped for a game since "My time at Sandrock".....
I recently found out about Manor Lords and have watched a few channels already. I noticed a few things thus far: 1. You want your houses built around the area you plan on using for all the markets. This supplies them faster and keeps them happy for upgrades. 2. Put your Granary and storeroom right across from the markets. That is how they will get full. 3. Keep your industries together. This will minimize the amount of travel for them to get what each building needs. This means place your industry building types together; WOOD (saw pit, wood cutter, logging), BREAD (wheat farm, windmill, farmhouse, communal oven together and turn off flour and wheat in your granary), CLOTHING (Place tanner next to hunter, place shoes near tanner), etc..
I absolutely love how you are showing us the thought process behind each of your actions. Without knowing anything about the game, I would have just plopped them down anywhere, or not understood the order you should set about the town. The game play / stream is not too slow at all. Thanks for the stream and hoping for more Manor Lord game play from you :)
The detail in thia game is insane. The fact that when it rains puddles form in the ruts on the road, tiny details like that just make it so immersive and realistic it's amazing
New subscriber as of today, I've been waiting and wanting this game for a long time now so as long as you keep up Manor Lord content I'll stay subscribed :) I don't normally sub to variety streamers/content creators and seeing as I didn't get early access I've been living vicariously through a few Manor Lord content creators and enjoying every minute of it. Thanks!
Amazing stuff! I saw in an other video you can make your area for foresting bigger by holding control i think. Is there any way to put specific families in specific houses? So that you can choose which house is habited? Loved watching this! Great info for the moment we can get our hands on this ourselves !!! 😅❤🎉
Bro, put those big ass backyards on veggie plots! You see how that one house has one tiny ass chicken coop? Also, it's good to do living extensions on plots you'll end up turning into artisans. There aren't really good reasons to not do backyards ever.
Awesome awesome… so excited. I have been waiting for this ❤ Love your videos. Thank you! My day is made and looking forward to all the following videos 😊
I am absolutely hooked by this game and really looking forward to the chance to play it myself. The overall ambience is gorgeous and it looks beautiful too. Hard to believe it's the work of one chap too. More, please!
Just wow. The game is exceeding my already lofty (based on the demo) expectations - so much more possible than i thought for first release. Excellent 'let's play' PE! You are my go-to for all things Manor Lords.
YESS omgosh! I'm excited for you that this is finally out! Loove what you've been doing in the game so far, excited to see where it goes form here! Keep on Keeping On, Party, and thank you for doing what you do!
Huh... i chose the same option as you and the AI ended up capturing the entire map around me before I even reached 60 population. And he had an army of 600+ soldiers.
Just 20 minutes in but this is giving me the vibe of age of empires/mythology and I LOVE those! Excited to see how it goes and follow along for the first time in years!
Okay this is such an advancement on age of empires in such an interesting way! I love all the machinations that have to take place to get to the next step
I’m so hyped for this! I remember something happened to the developer earlier and it looked like the game would never be finished, but I’m so happy that he was able to get it to this point! I played the demo when it was available on Steam and was completely hooked on it.
Has anyone told you that you have a lovely voice? I just started watching your channel and I find it helpful and calming. Also I like how you explain in detail as you go! Thank you!
I discovered your LEGENDARY Worker's and Resources LP about a year ago. I had an absolute blast. It's probably my favorite LP of all time. It made me wish I had been on that ride from the actual beginning. Well, here I am lol. I hope Manor Lords leads to something just as epic.
Never got the notification for this new series. I've noticed that when channels who used to post a lot take a break, I don't get notifications when they come back. So what I've taken to doing is randomly checking in on them to see if they're back. In this case, jackpot! Lol
I guess aesthetically speaking, I'd cut the burgages into half and reduce the number of plots, it still gave you the possibility for 4 houses, 2 each tending to one large plot. That would also give space for a similar layout in the back road giving potentially 8 houses 4 to 8 farms further down the line.
Love this series also love how much detail they add to the building. You can see they add Mud Before they add the roof to make less wind get in and all the other small details :D
This game looks great, cannot wait to play it in a couple weeks! Another game that uses the family system is Lords and Villeins. It is a feudal ruler sim with colony building aspects.
I normally hate these kind of games, BUT since i watched the demo ( i think it was) i have been så hyped , and im 100% getting this game... the freedom in building, the fact you can get chickens, vegs aso aso in your backyard is amazing.. on top of that, the military part .. simply blows me away. PLEASE make it a full let's play and help this noob out by making guides 🙂
I loved the ML demo, and am so impatient for the game to come out. Watching you play will tide me over - and help me get up to speed with game mechanics I haven't played. 😁
I just bought it today, just watching some videos to understand it a bit better first. I love how you are "dreaming" yourself "into the game" and kind of roleplaying your village a bit, makes it much more enjoyable to watch. So a like and subscribe from me. Greetings from Alv in Norway.👍
I really like the burgage plots that's so true to the time. It works well with the family system. I really wonder if they might add a inheritance-system that overtime creates the real problems of plots getting smaller and smaller. :) If you're into roleplaying this playthrough, you should look into historical German village layouts, because this is definitely inspired by medieval Germany. The long and thin strips at several places outside the village core is one very prevalent type, but there is also the round type where the tilling plots for every family stretches out radially from the village. Also very common is the possibility of a village bordering a highway, where the village is laid out in two rows left and right of the main road with the burgage plots spreading away from it, while the road sometimes splits at the village church that becomes an "island" inside the road. Maybe even with the market stalls in front of it - church markets were after all rather common! It could be fun to establish such villages in the next fiefdoms you unlock.
Def want to see guides about manor lord. I was into it the first time I saw it 3 years ago. Honestly cant believe it was that long ago Cant wait to play the full release
Finally, I found a UA-camr who understands how to build a city in Manor Lords that looks so organic and aesthetic. Many out there build cities that are too monotonous with straight roads, houses are built according to the doctrine of blocks of squares, there are no spaces between buildings. Very boring.
Seems like a good improvement would be to be able to to stack logging camp work areas so that you can plan in advance the trees you want them to cut down and let them get on with it without having to worry about checking every five minutes if they're sitting around doing nothing. Also I would say it's best to have them revert to cut tress anywhere once all their specific location assignments are completed. It seems too easy to just not notice they've finished an area right now, folks are going to get annoyed by this.
You answered one of my burning questions @ 28:51. Can you make a large plot for just one or two houses? Yes, your can =D The next question is, Does the size of the "backyard" affect yield? ~31:00, yes maybe?
OMG It’s here! Been looking forward to this game for a very long time and it looks like the hype is real, game looks amazing. Can’t wait to follow you play this 🤗
