Guys! I competed last night😆 it was amazing 🤩… stay tuned for show day vlog! Follow me on IG: @fitveganchef and check out my stories 🥹. Thank you so much for all the amazing support 🫶🏽 met so many of you in person yesterday and my heart is sooo full❤
My favorite thing about body builders is how during competition food becomes a mathematical equation. Comfort, cravings and satiety are not given a second thought. It's something the masses could never comprehend unless they've gone through a show before.
I think by the time they get to peak week, most cravings are pretty much minimal because they’ve been eating clean the whole time. A lot of food cravings are self-perpetuating, meaning they are triggered by eating certain highly processed foods (like pizza, potato chips, soda, etc). I know when I eat really clean, just whole, natural foods with minimal additives and no added salt or sugar, my cravings virtually disappear. But when I have more than one meal containing processed foods, the cravings for more start returning big time.
That is really true, I’m sure you guys have noticed my approach to this current prep, is slightly different than previous. I’ve been eating mostly Wholefoods and cravings have been 0. I love my meals, I feel amazing, because I’m eating nutrient dense foods. I’m I hungry? ABSOLUTELY, but I’m not craving junk. Which is a nice thing.
I am so glad I found you! I've been vegan for 13 years but it was and still is for ethical reasons. I'm currently on a recomposition journey and love watching these videos. When other folks show their food I tune out the meat, but now I do NOT have to and I can actually get some inspiration for high protein meals myself, although I eat pretty much the same thing over and over again! Wishing you all the good energy to win whatever you wish for!
I would so love to see you make a video about what your coaches think about plant based bodybuilding now that they've worked with you, for example, is there more willingness to promote it, and see the health benefits of it? I am not a person who would ever want to compete in bodybuilding, but I am so incredibly proud of all your hard work and dedication to do it vegan Natalie!! You win quadruple for that!! Bless you!
both my Previous coach Paul and now my new coach Jami are super respectful and supportive of my vegan lifestyle. Things are changing, people are a lot more open to it now. Hopefully my videos keep helping others that want to do it the vegan way :)
WELL I'M READY. 😁 Ready to witness another fantastic Natalie Matthews competition experience. ✌😎 Thanks for everything you put into making this series, and glad you had fun lighting up that stage like the dazzling queen that you are. 🙂👍
I love Tofu in the instant pot. Don't squeeze water out, just cook it on high for hour no salt, only Pepper and garlic. Tests Like Turkey! Be careful with extra protein! The body can't use excess protein which gets pissed out. Carbs are great! tip: You can keep avocado fresh if stored with an onion after cut. You must be lovin life!
You looked amazing!! You're such an inspo, gf!! Best of luck at the next couple shows. I have a feeling you're going to just get better and better ❤️🔥
So wonderful! Loving whole energy and fact it's all cruelty-free it's the best. I'm fan of your for a while, but I have subscribed just now. Looking forward for the more content. Lots of love😍
I love that you're doing your meal/travel prep in a sustainable way! The reusable toilet towel, stasher bags, compostable bags, minimizing plastic use is really cool to see. Congrats on your first show!
Loved this video. Thank you for posting all about Peak week. You crushed the competition this past weekend, looking forward to your next one. You're looking amazing. ❤
I love watching your preps-they are so interesting to me and you do it so well! I’m curious-does your intense prep affect your hormones and digestion a lot?
Thank you so much…. Yes, this is very extreme, even when I do everything naturally and healthy. There comes a point that it will start affecting me. The body doesn’t want to be this lean. Whenever I start seeing signs, that’s when I finish my season. I learned from the past to not push it for long term, because it will take me forever to feel normal. This is not sustainable. That’s why I am always sharing my improvement seasons. That’s why my seasons are short. I’m in it for the long term.
@@NatalieMatthewsFitVeganChef thank you for always being so inspiring and real!! I love watching your journey and there is much to appreciate and learn from women such as yourself-I’m cheering you on over here girl!
It's fascinating how much goes into a peak week. AND all that packing! 🤯 You may cover this in another video but I'm curious to hear, if your peak week is so precise that you come in primed for the stage, how do you do that week after week? And since I just watched your latest Insta stories about your front pose, it would also be really cool to see some comparisons how it's evolved. My eye is not that precise at picking up those small tweaks without someone point and shouting, "RIGHT THERE!" 🤣
Hi can you do a video or link to the video where you have already talked about it - expand on and discuss significance of what these terms mean…”pump” “depleted” and other bodybuilding terms? Please. Thank you.
Really love your videos! Question... have you ever used Next Level Diet? I got a custom high-protein meal plan from them and it's really working for me.
Natalie, I have a question… you still use sweetener in peak weak? Doesn’t hold water? 🫣 I started competit and I am interested, thank you for answer ❤️ you are amazing 🤩
Thank you so much! I use stevia for sweetener during peak week. I don’t use artificial sweeteners. For show day, most competitors use honey & rice cakes for pump up… I use maple syrup or date syrup.

Hi Natalie! Could you tell me what camera you guys use? Im thinking about buying one and your videos look great quality. Thank you!
Loved your hair at the show !!! Very pretty.
Thank you so much!!

I live in salt lake ! When's the show? I will

Thank you so much beautiful! It happened this past Saturday 😅 next time 🫶🏽
Looking fabulous!
Good luck girl ❤❤❤
Thank you so much
Woohoo!!! 🎉
Glad you got some stasher bags.i put some seitan logs in mine the other day😂
Ok where did you get the bags that you can freeze and microwave????
Amazon…Stasher bags…They are amazing. I linked everything to my amazon store (you can find it in the description box)
Didn't think pee splashback would cause problems. Learn something new every day!
This tan is not your regular tan …. it’s super dark so you can see the definition on stage. The bathroom is sooo intimidating on show day lol
Really love your videos! Question... have you ever used Next Level Diet? I got a custom high-protein meal plan from them and it's really working for me.
How were you able to take all of those kitchen items on the plate? Did you take them in a checked bag or a carry on?
Checked bag
The only thing I bring in my carry on is my show day suit, heels, and the food I’m having during travel day.
I need to know more about this “Go Girl” is it weird to use? Do other competitors use them? It must be interesting in the restrooms on show day 😮
haha restrooms are pretty nasty during show day, tan everywhere lol.
🎉
Where did you get the white long sleeve with hole in the back?
buffbunny.com/natalie (discount: NATALIE)
Cool 😎
You must be going to the wrong hotel because I've always had a microwave in my hotels
haha have you been to Vegas? Most of the host hotels for competitions don’t have anything. Some states are better than others though.
Not for years.. thats too bad that they give competitors crappy hotels :(
Soo much vocal fry, I had to mute and read the subtitles instead.
