    He's right about all of it. Police are useless in recovering stolen property. I've had two experiences with stolen vehicles in Fort Worth, the first was 41 years ago. The police couldn't be bothered. They told us to go look for it, when we found it, we called them, they told us to just drive it away. Good luck with that, the thief had the only keys.
    The second case they claimed was a "civil" matter because the thief was also a company employee. So they couldn't be bothered. Wouldn't even file a report despite phone calls and visits.
    Why, if you didn't know better, you'd almost think police have a symbiotic relationship with criminals.

    Dallas PD is a complete joke. Has been for years. You call 911 for an in progress theft and it takes AN ENTIRE DAY for a cop to show up, if they show up at all. I moved my business to Richardson bc I got so fed up with Dallas Police lack of doing fucking anything about crime.

      If there was a "case number and everything," then there was a report. Either you're using the wrong terminology or you've been mislead. Please go into further details so I can understand what you mean bro!

    • @orla2274
      @orla2274 9 місяців тому +2

      All I know is that I saw the truck and recognized it and called the owner. When he confirmed it was his license plate he started on his way and I called the cops and told them about how it was reported and given a number and I found it and they told me they had no report of it being reported eventhough the owner had a paper given to him about it...they told me to stay away from the truck so they can take fingerprints if needed. That's about it. Dallas pd is not the best... took 2 hrs to get there...

      Well, are you willing to be a detective in a police station? Are you part of the defund / demonize the police then complain that they are understaffed? With 36,000 cars stolen in Dallas per year and 12 detectives, that is 3,000 per year per detective , 60 per week , 12 per DAY , Just how many detectives would you consider enough?

    Not saying ALL police depts are bad. But ours in our city is kinda OFF. I had an old & nasty bike that was stolen when I was 13yrs old, reported it stolen to police. Would you believe I was finally contacted by them 9 YEARS LATER?!?! They asked if I wanted to come down & collect my bike. I was already in my 20s and driving. Wth? LOL I just laughed an hung up.

    A person hit my vehicle and drove off. The vehicle was black, so I never noticed until I got in the light. The cop had to come out 3 times because he forgot key facts for the police report. The driver was never charged for a hit-and-run. I was told by the police, they had better things to do besides solving my hit-and-run. Later that night, I solved my own case. There was part of a tail light cover laying in the street. I connected it to a vehicle across the street. Then, since we had the same insurance company, they at first refused to pay. I made sure the car repair shop replaced parts that didn't need replacing, since the insurance company was so crappy about paying the claim. DO NOT BUY BLACK CARS. It was 8 days old when it was hit.

    The reality is, how many cars are stolen in Dallas PER DAY? How many police are on staff per shift ? How many are detectives per shift? There is a practical limit to what ANY police dept can do. Note that the Camaro crossed many jurisdictions is multiple stations would need to be coordinated. If a detective was paid to scan Craigslist / Facebook all day looking for an endless list of cars / parts, would you be complaining? And don't bother with the " You are the police / chop shop " accusations .
