I worked at a Toyota Dealership, some one stole a brand new Sienna. Guy dressed in a suite and tie like a salesman. Walked to the back by the porters, got in the van and drove away. Took hrs to figure out that it was stolen.
We all pay for crime. Insurance rates especially. Imagine working there and having to tell your customer their $100k+ truck was stolen and then having that reputation. It's the people and communities you should feel for.

Its obvious no one looks at Camaras . How did the dealership find out they were robbed? Was it 3 days later because it took that long to keep searching for the theifs? Or did they say hey, maybe we should check when we were alerted about a stolen car on the property.
What's this thing? Are new cars and trucks no longer equipped with an internal physical lock pin for the steering? Does the computer control the actual device that locks the steering wheel now?
They unlock it with a computer & device connected to the obd port so as far as the vehicle computer knows, it’s been unlocked with the key, which means any anti theft is disabled. There’s videos showing how it’s done, takes less than a minute and zero damage to the car
Come on, 2024, and there's plenty of technology available to connect to the OBD port and disable vehicles at the end of each day. Or, you could hire a tech company to create a PC application that disables all vehicles via WiFi on a set schedule. You could even keep all vehicles disabled until they're needed. The lack of commonsense is really on the rise!

Anytime something happens at a dealership it's an inside job. Dealerships must pay taxes on every unsold vehicle and whenever the cars are stolen insurance pays the dealership for the loss. They don't need to sell the car, they don't pay the taxes on the unsold unit and the car doesn't go to auction its a win win win..

I’m surprised that their more cars aren’t stolen at dealerships more often. I worked security at dealerships mall over night and while I did my rounds I would find keys 🔑 in car doors or open lock boxes on cars with the keys inside them. On average I would find 6 keys a night
