      @@chrisginoc So far so good but I'm only a light user. I had three areas on my 2000 Porsche with minor clear coat issues and it cleaned them up with a mild compound and polish. It paid for itself over having a pro do it and made me feel good too.

      @@chrisginoc They are probably the same, same guts. Wattage is the same and the throw is 8 or 9mm. They are both brushed motors. MaxShine isn't too far from me so I figured I could go there if I had a problem. It makes easy work of polishing headlights too, just a few min.

      @@DSC800 Good point. I'm in Orange County and realized MaxShine is in Brea. I found a newly opened box G9 at $130 nearby and the Maxshine M8s costs about $80-$90.

    This version has mor amps, starts up smoother and love the fact that it comes ua-cam.com/users/postUgkxfzbDkCRyv3CFXnLZI4APZtRRuG2uRmP2 with two types of handles(both scratchproof) and a Velcro 7 inch disk. My boat and cars look like new again ! Love Dewalt tools because they seem to last a while and AMAZON for the great prices ! Update 07/14/2021I still have and use this polisher very often on my boat, truck and cars but recently I refurbished some stained, dull kitchen granite countertop(stain removal took two months) polished with a white hogs hair polishing pad and MB20, wow ! Polished up like glass and looks better than new. The sealer took two days then some tenax granite wax . I can’t believe how nice this all went. I also polished the travertine tile in my kitchen and dinning room and it too looks like “Vegas”. This dewalt polisher has also cleaned up rust from metal(circular wire brush) and cleaned off stucco for a repair I did on the house. I always purchase the right tool for the job and don’t stick with a certain brand or color(I have Fein , metabo, Bosch …) this dewalt is at the top of the heap fir polishers.

Would I be able to just decontaminate, polish then recoat? Or would I have to do a strip wash, decon, polish and recoat? Thanks for all the help and entertainment!

    1. MaxShine M8S Mk1 ($120)
    2. MaxShine M15 Pro II ($225)
    3. ShineMate EX610/15 ($210)
    4. ShineMate EX620/15 ($275)
    5. Rupes LHR15 ES Mk1 ($355)
    6. Other brands/models?
    Also, for smaller/tighter surface areas, should I buy one of those micro/mini polishers like the SPTA ones or just get a 3" polisher like the ShineMate EX603?

    Really quick question. Why are some polishing pads texted instead of just flat? Is there any benefit to the honey comb pattern on some pads? I’ve seen polishing pads that are a wavy pattern as well. I know it’s probably a pretty dumb question but I honestly don’t know the answer.

    • @KlockoFett
      @KlockoFett 2 роки тому

      Feels like a bad idea, especially on a light colored car. I could be wrong, but I feel like you'd potentially end up staining the car while the foam dwells. Probably also reduces the effectiveness of the foam...also just a guess.
      I do agree though if my guess to your reasoning is correct. Especially on a white vehicle, a colored foam would make things easier to see where the foam still sits.

    • @imjoshv
      @imjoshv  2 роки тому +2

      Yea even the colored snow foams say not to use it on oxidized paint as it could stain. I did a video on the Adams Unicorn soap a while back and I really like the colored foam but it is a bit messy. But, when I did that video I remember someone commenting that they use food coloring to make their own colored snow foam.
