Try it with a splash of sesame oil, some sesame seeds, and a touch of white pepper. The flavors are accentuated just a wee bit more to make it irresistible. ☺️

I learned about Kewpie (technically QP) Mayonnaise when I was living in Japan and that's my primary mayo here in the states. If you want to take your mashed potatoes from really nice to sublime, add a tablespoon full of Kewpie to it along with your usual preferred ingredients and blend well. You'll thank me later...

CultureofBlame correct, like long grain rice. You measure 3 cups of water with 2 cups of rice, 4 -6 servings. She is making short grain rice, so the measurement is different. There are different brown rices which may need more water per cup of rice. 🤷🏾‍♀️

Actually just learned a tip recently also... I never get a strong enough garlic flavor from frying garlic.. soo... I've learned to make Garlic Water... of coarse you really got to love garlic for this one. I DO. Lol... so i simply add however much to my final plating of my own portion, and yeah.. garlic Blisss for me anyway... 🥰✌

Tammy0238 How do you make it? It sounds like a great tip for another garlic lover.

    • @AndreaszTP

You may wanna try crispy fried garlic. Finely chop lots of garlic, add them to a pan or sauce pan then add enough oil (neutral flavored) to cover the garlic. Turn the heat on low and let the garlic "simmer" in the oil until light golden brown and crispy. Then pass it through a sieve to keep the garlic crispy. Both the oil and the crispy garlic now have a very strong garlicky taste. You can sprinkle the crispy garlic over anything, or add it to a broth to make it super garlicky. And the oil is perfect for making fried rice or fried noodle.

@@rsamna2494 simply Garlic and Water. Put it in food processor or blender and it Keeps several days in the fridge. Orrr. If you want to freeze into cubes Add salt... the added salt, if you add enough , will not freeze solid but turns into a slush and you can scoop out w a spoon... but that would be for cooked recipe you would remember it would be adding alot more salt so reduce any already in the ingredients called for in the recipe. ✌🙂👍

That tip on retaining that same amount of water for evaporation for any amount of rice is genius. The first knuckle trick would also be the same concept, but you would need to use the same pot every time when you nailed the cooked rice texture (and remembered the 'right' knuckle measurement).

When I was broke and living in Korea, I would get free kimchi and rice at the goshiwon, I'd mix in some mayo to mellow out the kimchi a little bit, and usually add a boiled egg, it wasn't bad..
