    This is a restaurant style sinangag. Of course, at home, we don't use too much oil. Spring onion is rarely there. We also eat it with a dish and not on its own (unlike Chinese fried rice).

    Ahhh, my dad puts onion in it and we usually have a fried egg or spam with it (both if my mom had time). It's still my favorite breakfast meal, lol

    Thank you for the recipe, I tried yesterday. In the video it seems more oil, than actually needed (i put too much). Also I somehow couldn't make myself to salt it with salt and used fish sauce.

    You don't ever eat sinangag by itself (or any cooked rice for that matter) if you are Filipino. You should've fried some tuyo (dried fish) or a simple sunny side up egg to partner it with.

    That may be delicious... but I really don't want to consume half a cup of fried oil in order to make a portion of rice tasty. There are many healthier ways to do it. Not saying to never fry, but so much oil just for making rice delicious and garlicky, is like hunting mosquitoes with a canon... the damage highly outweighs the benefits.

    Kudos, you took the italian way of infusing garlic with oil. That way you extracted most of the flavor. High heat only burns garlic and you can get a bitter flavor thia way you did it just right. Bravissimo!

    • @Prinren
      @Prinren 5 місяців тому

      I'm sure a lot do, but most just use any of the cheaper most fluffy rice types for fried rice. We have like 20 different types of rice. Categorised by long, short/medium and sticky. Imagine those coffee and tea stores where it's like "Lightly roasted with a fruity aroma bla bla" but with rice. Jasmine rice is called Milagrosa, but we also have Dinorado, which is also a fragrant rice sometimes categorised as Jasmine rice.
