      Hi Loretta!! So sorry to hear you have been out of action for 7 months!!! My goodness, that is a pretty grumpy gallbladder! I hope you are feeling better, and continue to feel better :)

      Yes 7 months was bad but along with the gallbladder, my acid repair of the stomach and esophagus also developed hernias and slipped about the same time...testing went on 3 months because they wanted to do surgery on both at the same time...it was difficult for me to know what pain was what...enjoyed all you videos while this was going on❣️

    I have not stitched in quite some time and was surprised that my wip floss for my project was so disheveled. Im so happy that you made this
    Wonderfully well thought out video. I am going to put together my floss bags in a container with cardboard separators and lining such as you’ve shown. I had previously did that in a clear box but of course they totally tumbled every time I searched out for colors so I gave up. I’m sure your organization skills encourage others to rethink their space.
    BTW the camera loves you.
    Now I’m going to look for your stitching stand know-how video.

    Thank you Brenda, for your update. I use these bobbins' for kumihimo braiding. Your stitching as always looks beautiful. I have lost my stitchy bug at the moment (so tired after teaching on line) but I am hoping it will come back soon. i have decided to do a small cross stitch in the evenings so that my larger pieces that are on scroll rods seem less daunting and can be left to the weekend when I have time to set up my stand for them. Fingers crossed. Stay safe and well lovely.

      @Handworkmaniac  3 роки тому

      Hi Carol! Ahhhh, Kumihimo!! That was the word I couldn't think of! Thank You :) I have seen people doing it, it is a beautiful craft. So sorry online teaching is taking all your energy, but I sooo understand. What a crazy year. I hope things calm down for you eventually and you can spend some more calm time with your hobby. I have a few projects I can only work on, on Saturdays, as well. For the same reason :) And because I need daytime brain, not night-time after a long day at the school brain.

    Can you show how you do a cross stitch on high count linen, especially a sampler, how do you count such a small stitch when they are spaced apart. Also, I really enjoy your videos.

    • @Handworkmaniac
      @Handworkmaniac  3 роки тому +1

      Hello! You just have to count really carefully, and strong reading glasses or a magnifier really help as well. Some people use counting pins when counting long distances. You stick a pin in every 5 or 10 stitches to keep track of the number. I find myself kind of dragging my needle across the fabric as I count, and sticking it down in as I count each stitch. Dragging it, kind of helps me "feel" as well as "see" the threads as I count them.

    Yay! You came back. I've been thinking about you a lot and wondering how you were doing with you stitching shelf after you were saying about upping the number of stitched squares you were going to be doing. If you are moving down to below yours, either the stitch count of your fabric is different than mine or I'm viewing it funny on my computer because yours seems smaller than mine. I'm nearly done with my page below mine in the summer section, still no ladies, rats. The width of my area cuts off just before I get to them but I'm looking ahead and I might get to do one in the next couple of pages or so. lol. I have my Celtic Christmas lady on though and working down the beaded designs now before I roll. Hubby made me longer bars so I might be able to actually leave her without rolling soon. We'll see if it works. When I get this last little bit of my current page done, I will update you with a picture and let you see my progress. It looks like I will be heading into some hot pinks and oranges by the Spanish fan....Glad you have made so much progress and I'm so impressed with your Netherlands books. So nice to actually see the words so very clearly after all this bleary stuff the HAED has going on it. It was a thrill to see that coming along and your wall is so impressive. You have been really busy and prolific over the years. Wow!!! Way to go Brenda. I'm checking into those bobbins so thanks for sharing!

      Hi Lilia!!! I can't believe you haven't run into a lady yet!!! LOL I agree, rats! Mine is on 25 ct fabric, 1 over 1, so it could be a smaller count. I'm surprised at how small the swan Chatelaine looks, especially next to the Cottage Garden Sampler by Teresa Wenzler. What count fabrics did you use for both of these, and what is the final size of each. They both look lovely! As do all of your pieces you have on display.

    • @Handworkmaniac
      @Handworkmaniac  3 роки тому

      Thank You Elaine! I think one of the reasons the Cottage Garden looks bigger is that it has a margin around the stitching, and then the added width and heavy "feel" of the frame. The swan one (Evening in the park) just has the edges folded under, pretty close to the stitching. Cottage Garden is on the called for count of 28 ct and is 300 x 200 stitches. Evening in the Park is on the called for count of 32 ct, and is 279 x 279 stitches.

      Thank You :) I use non-rusting straight pins, and just stick them right into the drywall, lol. With a small hammer. Hi Josie! I really like the Potoky stand, it is very nicely made. I talk more about it in video #70 if you want to hear more about my experience with it. If I am at home I usually use my Elan stand, as it is a little more stable on my lap, and I am so used to it. But I think I will start taking the Potoky stand with me when I am stitching away from home, as it is smaller, and will be much easier to pack around :) Although I have packed the Elan around with me for many years as well, lol.
