    The timing on this was perfect too and I'm sitting at the hospital all day while my daughter has an assessment. I brought 2 little WIPs to occupy me, and your calming voice to accompany me.

    Catching up today on older Flosstubes…I love how they are there when I am ready to watch. Thanks for sharing your projects and your organization. It helps to see how other people keep track of what they are working on/ how they choose what to do every week/month. Your stitching is beautiful! So now, I’ll watch your next videos and see how much progress you’ve made.😀

    It is the first time I see a pattern by Isabelle Haccourt Vautier in a flosstube video. She is my favourite designer, but as most of her samplers are in French, they are not popular abroad. Although I am not really a sampler person. I have done 3 by her and have 2 more on the go. Your work is beautiful. Always enjoy looking at everything you do.

    Wow! You get a lot done in a week. You have a good schedule. I make a schedule, then life happens or I change my schedule and then that blows that schedule all to pieces. Right now, I’m stitching on a modern folk embroidery piece and I’m being monogamous with it. Thank you for sharing this video with all of us. I always enjoy what you work on. You have a lovely week.

      Hi Cheryl!!! My brain enjoys the schedule and organizing part of it. But you should stitch the way that makes you happy!!! I think any stitching done in a day is fabulous, it does not need to be part of an organized plan. MFE patterns are so lovely, enjoy every stitch :)

    • @Handworkmaniac
      @Handworkmaniac  2 роки тому +1

      Laura, LOL, I love to start things spontaneously as well!! Some days I am totally off the schedule. Most days my brain enjoys being on the schedule, but I also have days where I just stitch on what I want and don't worry about the schedule :)

    You have great stitching organization. In 2021 I did WIPGO for the first time and got a blackout. I was happy with that, and carried only 8 projects forward. This year I made a WIPGO board, but already changed one of my squares for a new start. I have a good amount of time to stitch, being retired, but I get caught up in watching too many Flosstubes. Right now I want to do too many new things, and will have to make a real effort to keep up with the older WIPS. Thank you for your inspiration.

      @Handworkmaniac  2 роки тому

      Thank You Kathy! Wow, a blackout is pretty impressive! I totally understand about being retired. Although I can only dream about it now, lol. But when I have a few days off, I tend to wander around doing nothing and getting distracted by so many things and before I know it, it is late afternoon!!! :)

    Brenda I love the progress you are making on cross stitching. Your Shine On is stunning and beautiful love the colors. I have some sulky threads and have not used them but I will be using them sometime this year. You are a very talented lady and I love watching your channel. I have a few that you have shown on my wishlist and maybe get a few patterns this year. I do a lot of Stoney Creek patterns (I have a ton of old and new books) and I have a lot of British magazines and Dimension kits that I want to get some started this year. I want to stitch everything (sound familiar). I am still watching your old videos and I am enjoying them very much. Happy Stitching and be safe and kind. God bless

    Thank you for your video. Great progress on tour WIPS. That Autumn Lane Stitchery piece is WOW!! It was interesting listening to your planning of your week stitching. I've found I can't do that, I balk at stitching on a schedule. I mostly stick my hand in my huge WIP basket and that's what I stitch, or start something new. I've also found once I've picked up that WIP, I'm likely to just work on it until I finish. Works for me! Take care and happy stitching!

    Hi Brenda, really look forward to each of your videos, I find your projects so inspiring and your stitching is beautiful. I absolutely love the Autumn Towne pattern, so much so that I have just ordered the pattern, a fabric and threads and cannot wait to get started. I found it really interesting on how you stitched the big tree and loved the effect it gave so will probably stitch all the trees like that using the called for variegated flosses together with your suggestion of substituting DMC 740. I will have to stitch 2 over 2 as I have chosen a weeks dye works 30 count linen in the colour way guacamole as unable to source recommended fabric in United Kingdom. Thank you for all your tips they are so helpful.

    Beautiful work as always! I love seeing the way you plan and your rotation as it evolves over time! We are definitely different in that regard - I need time to ramp up on a piece before I find my groove, so I tend to work on something for 5 or 6 days at a time - but that's what makes it all so interesting, right?
    I also love that you put stickers in your day book - gotta do whatever it takes to make ourselves smile, right? I'm 100% behind this initiative :D
    Lovely to spend time with you today, hope you're keeping well and not too busy!

    And I thought I was organized. I do not compare to you ;-) I have a planner and a bullet journal. I eagerly await the end of the month because I love planning my stitching projects for the following month. And then I joined several challenge groups on FB last year, so I now plan my stitching around challenges - some yearly and monthly, and some are weekly with no early notice. I love the mix of longer term plans, with monthly, and with the surprise of the weeklies. We share so many projects in common. And I'm a teacher... Always, always enjoy your videos. Happy 2022.

      @Handworkmaniac  2 роки тому

      Thank You Sylvia!! Yes, it sounds like our brains work the same. I also love the "planning and organizing" part of the stitching and truly enjoy making the plan for the next month. And yes, I also love the yearly, monthly, and weekly goals. And some surprises from the challenge groups or other activities. I soooo respect teachers, you have all of my empathy right now. Know that you are making a difference in the lives of so many children who are struggling right now. I feel like half of our school right now does not have a nurturing home life at the moment. The parents are under so much stress they are not being great parents. So the parenting and nurturing ends up happening at the school. You are wonderful :)

    Thoroughly enjoyed my visit with you Brenda,as always😁. Happy 2022, wishing it to be a Healthy and Happy one with plenty of stitches😃. I love your organisation, I forget what I do five minutes after I start lol. I did start Cheese Delivery by Chris Dunn on 25th and did around 5,000 stitches but restarting it today. The fabric was gridded at 20st sq. but of course the pattern was 10 STS. sq. and I just couldn't concentrate so have decided to try on a different fabric. Hope you and your family are all well. Stay safe and see you in the future 🤗

      Hello Angela!!! Wow, 5,000 stitches since the 25th is a great amount! And I'm glad you figured out that the fabric was making it not fun, and you restarted it. I am always in favor of fixing whatever is driving you crazy about it :)

    I really enjoy your floss tube videos. Thanks for taking the time to do them. If you get a chance, would you let me know how you attach fabric strips across the ends of your project (to lengthen for a roller frame?) Does the fabric strip have to be sewn perfectly to the grain of the linen? Thanks..

    • @Handworkmaniac
      @Handworkmaniac  2 роки тому

      Hello!! I just use my sewing machine to attach the fabric. I try to make it as straight as I can, but I don't think it matters if it does not match the grain exactly :)

    Thank you Brenda for sharing another great video. I’m just gob-smacked over your Lost No More - it’s so beautiful and I think will be absolutely stunning when completed and framed. Had to laugh again about your “prison” category. I’m genuinely wondering what crime is committed by your cross stitch projects to end up in the “slammer”? Is it the same as time out? Regardless, was happy to see you currently have no prisoners there!
    Happy New Year!
