At the beginning of the video, it felt like Christmas morning...c'mon! You will be able to get a couple few grocery bags from Publix into that aluminum top case. Well done installation video and ride, glad nothing fell off, ride safe.
Gus, Thanks for your comments, much appreciated. Yes, that box is just the right size. It will hold my helmet when I am inside the store, and all the items I bought on the ride home when I wear the helmet. When I go on the first good trail ride, it will hold my coffee making kit, micro fishing tackle, DJI Mavic Mini, lunch and drinks. I have one more set of accessories to add.. The Kitaco under guard, Barkbusters hand guards, and the H2C/Motowolf cell phone holder, and then I'll be ready to make that first trail riding video.

R000KETMAN, Thanks for watching and your kind words. I hear you. I try to avoid modifications when I can. I'd rather just install well engineered accessories that don't need modification.. much easier to just bolt them on then re-engineer them.
Thanks for watching and your comment. I was a bit slow to respond as I am working on the next video. My hearing continues to worsen, and it is getting tough for me to set the sound levels right now in my newer videos. I am using the sound meter in the editor now, as I pretty much can't tell the volume otherwise. I get a lot of kidding about being old and slow, LOL, but when I preview my next video, it is really old and slow.. LOL
Yes, we would have fun riding together if we lived closer. I drove twice at Lime Rock.. with a Lotus 51 Formula Ford, and also at Watkins Glen a couple of times, but didn't make videos back then. 60+ years ago, Lime Rock was home to the "Little Lemans" for small sedans. I liked 2-stroke SAABs back then and always followed the race at Lime Rock every year. see: touringcarracing.net/Races/1958%20Little%20Le%20Mans.html and: www.racingsportscars.com/results/Lime_Rock-1959-08-15-4760.html There was also an annual 12 hour sedan race at Marlboro, and I saw Jackie Stewart drive a Lotus Cortina there, and that got me interested in sports car racing. The Little Lemans and the Marlboro 12 hour set the groundwork for the TransAm pro series that followed a couple of years later: touringcarracing.net/Races/1964%20Marlboro.html gotransam.com/news/On-this-Day-in-Trans-Am-History-August-14-1966/70716 50 years later, I ended up buying Clyde Billings Quantum Formula S racing car from his estate after he died. 20 years ago, before UA-cam, I had a weekly TV show in the Washington DC area, and made about two dozen episodes. I uploaded those episodes to UA-cam about a year ago. I do speak in those shows.. LOL.. here is a sample: ua-cam.com/video/tGbjh26OLVE/v-deo.html

A very relaxing video to watch and a great choice of accessories. One question if I may, what is the torque settings on the rear shocks? Thanks and lovely bike, take care…
Mark, thanks for watching, your kind words, and your question. The factory workshop manual specifies the same torque for both the upper and lower shock absorber mounting cap nuts. [N.m (kgf.m, lbf.ft)] 29 (3.0, 21)
@@Vintage_Garage That’s a big help, thank you. I take delivery of my Monkey 2023 mid to late March so that will give me time to find them Gcraft bobbins you have fitted to your bike. Thanks again and enjoy your great bike, from all of us here in chilly North London UK

Paul, thanks for watching my video and your perspective, much appreciated. I am sure you are right. I fully expect to get my foot stuck on the seat either getting on or off and go full turtle, and I predict it will happen within two months. However, I think you and I may have different priorities on what is most important in a storage system. For me, the #1 reason for storage on a motorcycle is to hold my helmet while I am shopping for groceries at Walmart. That reason might be near the bottom or off the bottom of your list of importance. I also would like to leave room on the left rear for one of those 3.5-liter red plastic gas containers like I have on both of my Trail 125s. I also don't want to change the look of the exhaust system on the right side. I agree with you on the scenery at Lake Beverly. When I see the videos from Thailand and Japan, they always have mountain views, and rushing streams, neither of which are within several hundred of miles from me here in central Florida, so I can't match them on scenery. Those birds at Lake Beverly follow me when I ride into the park and then land and sit waiting for dinner every evening. The sound of one of my motorcycles is like a dinner bell to them.. LOL.
we have the same bike and almost the same mods lol I did the same derazer fairin, chrome exhaust shield but used the t rex racin rear rack. I also did the stock look takegawa sport exhaust, short ram air intake, dhm ecu tune and some beefier shocks. the stock shocks were ok for me at 6' 260 lbs, but I knew if I loaded up the rear rack with fishin gear, extra gas etc I would bottom out often. You look like you're in fl, I used to live in naples but too many crazy drivers on the road for me to want a bike down there. I did a few other small mods like removed the factory linkage/shifter setup and went right to a shifter only, I also got a garmin gps for motorcycles, lets me set my trip for smaller 55 mph and under roads and up here in se ky i can go for a very long time that way. Look forward to more vids and if i can ever find some rv parks that will take a converted short bus, you might see me down your way one of these days. take care
Bill, thanks for your info and comments, much appreciated. Yes, I live in central Florida.. flat land and the trails are either pack sand or loose sand. I am so slow and old, that I am not sure that I will ever bottom out the shocks.. LOL.. My next install will be more items I bought five months ago. The Kitaco under guard, Barkbusters hand guards, and a H2C/Motowolf cell phone holder.
GeeksGarage, Thanks for watching my video and your comment, much appreciated. Two years ago, Beezdeals used to process an online purchase the day it was made online and were usually shipped the next day. My last two orders, one near the end of 2021, and the next a few months ago, took almost two weeks to be shipped out. Once you get the shipping notice from Beezdeals, then it arrives very quickly, usually within a week. The short answer is two years ago, it used to take a week from order day to delivery day. Now I expect it to take three weeks from order day to delivery day. I always buy directly from their web site and not eBay, so I don't know the delivery schedule if you buy from their eBay store.
Pearl, Thanks for watching and your comment, much appreciated. Unfortunately, I do not know the answer. All I do know is that I exceeded the capacity of the Gcraft rack. Please have a look at this next video and especially at the end of it: ua-cam.com/video/8dupmfCJ9Ak/v-deo.html At the end of the video when I am loading up all my supplies, you can see that the aluminum top box is no longer parallel to the ground. The Gcraft rack is slightly bent down at the back. The load in the box included all of my cooking gear, a DJI Mavic Mini, several Diet Pepsis, lunch, camera spares, and fishing gear. I also mounted the top box with a lot of rear overhang, which also provided extra twisting force. Please watch my follow-up video to see more details and how I strengthened the rack. Since that fix the max weight is very high, but unknown, since I haven't been able to overload it to the point of a failure. Please watch: ua-cam.com/video/2cXnhkJknlU/v-deo.html
Johan, First thanks for watching and your comment, much appreciated. I do not know the rating of the rack, but it is very small. When I lightly filled the top box and took it on a trail ride, the Gcraft rack bent. The design would be strong if it was cut from steel, but it is aluminum and the right angle sides that you would normally expect to add strength simply fold under practically any load. I address this in a follow-up video, but again, I don't know what the load limit is on the strengthened Gcraft rack. All I can say is once I strengthened it with steel angle, it hasn't bent again. When I put the same top box on my next Monkey, I used the Kitaco rear rack which is very strong, but I don't know the weight limit of it either. For strengthening the Gcraft rack, Please see: ua-cam.com/video/2cXnhkJknlU/v-deo.html For installation of the Kitaco rack, please see: ua-cam.com/video/Mb4S37XJbVw/v-deo.html
