What I'm about to say is going to sound crazy. So, don't kill me, skeptics of the Luke Stephens army. But, I am looking forward to hearing more info on this game.
Lol as soon as Luke mentioned the way the grass and trees are blowing when Kay was entering Juanita's Hope, and how everything feels alive, I immediately got flashbacks to that one demo of Watch Dogs 1 that had the wind blowing and made Chicago look alive only for the game to be a massive downgrade haha. Not saying that that will happen here but its funny how Ubisoft meme moments like that can always be evoked in there demos lol.
Luke is getting some brownie points from Ubisoft for this video lol! But he has also set the bar higher with his expectations. Let's hope Ubisoft can pull this one off, because it looks genuinely good!
28:12 Lightstorm does not just make the movies, they own the Avatar IP, Production rights and 50% of the merchandising rights. Disney only owns the distribution rights to Avatar 1 (through the Fox merger), Avatar 2 and the upcoming Avatar 3.
People said this exact same stuff after the Starfield Direct. Go look at the comments on that video. "This looks so cohesive and coherent, so fluid and beautiful, etc." People cannot critically analyze game trailers anymore. Nothing about this trailer tells me whether it will be a good or bad game.
it could be "fake ultrawide", as in 16:9 with black bars. Some high-fidelity games use that as a performance trick, since it reduces the amount of pixels that need to be rendered.
That is your opinion. As a game dev you can fly to planets and land on planets. I been doing that in UE5 lately. Not everything need to be about actors and visuals. They should be focused on gameplay and story. That is it. Enter a ship and fly to space etc... and then land on a planet. I did it in UE5. Million of dollars are wasted on marketing, actors and visuals. Avatar was pretty good an underrated because it was fun not all about visuals and marketing or something. I think that most companies worry too much about PR, free copies, actors and visuals. You will never probably get movie quality 4k quality. The game may not even run. I have to scale down projects to make it playable in test modes.
I love absolutely everything, excluding the protagonist. Gives me big "They fly now?" vibes, you know what I mean? Hoping my feelings change on release.
Please no Jedi, Sith, lightsabers, force powers, or moon sized mega weapon planet destroyers! Give me the raw, visceral underbelly of the Star Wars universe!
FYI if anyone see this , Danka firrin the phrase luke didn’t know in the beginning ends up being the bosses name in the cantina later on I caught it quick when she says her name while talking to her
I think Ubisoft should move to make it's Snowdrop engine it's primary engine instead of the Anvil engine. Snowdrop looks SOOOO much better. Better lighting, effects, details, particles and animations. It seems very versatile too. PS: I noticed how the player was able to go from inside a building to the outside, then into a ship, then sitting down in the cockpit, taking off, flying into the atmosphere and out into space and then warping to another planet without a SINGLE static loading screen. Some studios would have you sit through a loading screen for each of those actions. About 6 or 7 perhaps :P
I'll never forget the feeling when it was announced at that xbox show. Trailer opened, the opening line sounded corny & i was like "the most star wars line ever", cut to the space fighf shot and i was stunned. To see a gameplay reveal announced for the next DAY (when was the last time that happened? A big AAA announcement + game reveal in 24 hours) shows just how confident Ubisoft/Massive are in this game. I bet we'll see it next week at the Xbox show, maybe even a release date/pre-orders go live. To say i'm interested is a minor statement lol.
In 30 years of gaming, I've experienced hype and disappointment since the days of game previews in magazines. The best hype cycle I ever had was for Skyrim. From loving Oblivion, to seeing those initial trailers, to them delivering the game of the decade on 11/11/11.
I read an article that said Ubisoft and massive felt like they had caught lightning in a bottle with this game and a year before before this trailer they had play testing for random people in Sweden almost like a open play test for this game just to show it off
Not sure if anyone said this yet but Death Standing Directors Cut has Ultra Wide support on consoles. Not sure if it would actually work on an Ultra Wide monitor but it allows for the letter boxing. It's pretty cool and actually the best way to play the game on PS5.
There’s only one other IP where I want to see a large open world game take place. Game of Thrones. Imagine a Witcher style game based off the books A Song of Ice and Fire. It has the solid AAA story, location, politics, lore, fantastical elements and the legendary weapons and armor already built in. Start off as a young hedge knight and you pick the house you’re affiliated with and climb the ladder because Chaos is a Ladder! It’s my dream game along with a similar game done in the Star Wars galaxy. I hope this scratches that itch.
According to Digital Foundry, it's using FSR and the output resolution is ultrawide 3840x1600. We don't know the base internal resolution. I have no idea why they went with FSR instead of DLSS when showcasing a PC version...
I hope what they showed is not a case of ”what you see is everything the game has to offer”. I really hope they have more things up their sleeve in terms of quality gameplay, missions, story. But we will have to find that out when the game comes out
I wonder if they are gonna go for a faux 21:9 for the consoles to get more performance out of them to hit 60fps, they also did that for RE4 on the Gamecube and the first Evil Within.
1. Blows my mind people getting upset with Luke over things that really don’t matter (you clicked on the video, you can skip or click off). 2. I have no issue with a female lead in a game, so long as they take the time to write and execute her character well (most of the time they flop on that part).
The only thing im worried is how will it actually look cause technology is evolving. Seeing a planet this big can really jeopardize the total quality especially how Survivor went( it was definitely a 9/10 game thr only issue was that i had to buy a new monitor so i can play the game to its full capacity) so i hope that wont be a problem
Calling it right now: THIS PROTAGONIST WILL RUIN THE GAME. So you can't really tell from this video because Luke talks over the worst parts but this protagonist is definitely verging on Forspoken levels of "Can't shut the fuck up" cringey and quippy dialogue. When I first saw this trailer I was watching it on a livestream that had some audio glitch stripping out the audio and I was really hyped.
Same with the Cyberpunk vertical slice too. You need to be wary when they handpick what they show you.
"Dinky Ferrets" translates to .. "Why I Oughta.."
Protag looks painfully generic
This channel's heavy focus on pixels on the screen meanwhile I'm like she doesnt walk upstairs she walks on the stairs
It seems like a combination of GTA and Mass Effect. Sounds like a dream. Hopefully they pull it off.
it could be "fake ultrawide", as in 16:9 with black bars. Some high-fidelity games use that as a performance trick, since it reduces the amount of pixels that need to be rendered.
I think this would be better without a pre written character but custom character creation. Make it an RPG.
That’s wat everyone wants in a star wars game
7:27. That was funny 😂
I love absolutely everything, excluding the protagonist. Gives me big "They fly now?" vibes, you know what I mean? Hoping my feelings change on release.
I’m really looking forward to this project I hope it comes out good I love me some stars I do wish we got a KOTOR kinda RPG game tho
Please no Jedi, Sith, lightsabers, force powers, or moon sized mega weapon planet destroyers! Give me the raw, visceral underbelly of the Star Wars universe!
Even if it totally drops the ball it will still be better than Starfield. So that’s better than nothing.
FYI if anyone see this , Danka firrin the phrase luke didn’t know in the beginning ends up being the bosses name in the cantina later on I caught it quick when she says her name while talking to her
Give us a damned charactor creator already. We got to have one in JK: Jedi Academy, and that was friggen boss! Why can't we have that anymore?
Because then they would have to hire a male VA and have to pay him to say all the same marvel-esque wacky lines lol 🤣
Imagine Ubisoft pull a Day Before scan 😭😭😭
Avatar just came out and that game looks amazing. I am quite sure this is what we will get
I’m hyped for Stellar Blade, Rise of the ronin, FF7, Phantom Blade and Star Wars Outlaw.
Most hyped for Dragon's Dogma 2...Can't wait. Vacation days set.
Love your content. 10/10 🎉
I just hope it’s single player focused and doesn’t force an online element
Wow. This looks great!
I have hope for this game I like how they’re taking their time with it and not rushing it because I would rather have a good game then a buggy
not enough games for the 1st half of the year and too many for the end of year.
Kathleen Kennedy in a video game, no thanks
I read an article that said Ubisoft and massive felt like they had caught lightning in a bottle with this game and a year before before this trailer they had play testing for random people in Sweden almost like a open play test for this game just to show it off
Hope it’s as good as it looks
Not sure if anyone said this yet but Death Standing Directors Cut has Ultra Wide support on consoles. Not sure if it would actually work on an Ultra Wide monitor but it allows for the letter boxing. It's pretty cool and actually the best way to play the game on PS5.
after seeing pandora, i got pretty decent expectations of that snowdrop engine
I hope we get to play as the droid he looks so sick
There’s only one other IP where I want to see a large open world game take place. Game of Thrones. Imagine a Witcher style game based off the books A Song of Ice and Fire. It has the solid AAA story, location, politics, lore, fantastical elements and the legendary weapons and armor already built in. Start off as a young hedge knight and you pick the house you’re affiliated with and climb the ladder because Chaos is a Ladder! It’s my dream game along with a similar game done in the Star Wars galaxy. I hope this scratches that itch.
Listen man, they done it correctly. If they don’t fuck it up it’s going to be game of the year. There’s no if there’s buts
But we will have to find that out when the game comes out
one of my most anticipated games of 2024.
I wonder if massive entertainment made a Marvel game what character would they develop
Red flags were going off like crazy when I saw this trailer, definitely not actual gameplay. Think watchdogs
They handle the ship transition from land to space to space combat so much better than Starfield, it's almost embarrassing.
It seems Mass Effect-like with space battles which would be wonderful for a SW game. Modding could make it a mega smash hit.
I am getting flashbacks of the original Watch Dogs trailer
I wonder if they are gonna go for a faux 21:9 for the consoles to get more performance out of them to hit 60fps, they also did that for RE4 on the Gamecube and the first Evil Within.
Star Wars Outlaws vs Star wars Jedi: whats the difference?
- side minion : ✅
- Leather Jacket: ✅
- Main Character syndrome: ✅
Death Stranding Director's Cut has ultrawide support on Console, but there aren't many others.
"It might look at launch" oh no no no, it would be so unlike ubisoft to do that.
I’m very excited for this game. Even if it is a hodge podge of a lot of current games I’ll still probably really like it.
1. Blows my mind people getting upset with Luke over things that really don’t matter (you clicked on the video, you can skip or click off).
2. I have no issue with a female lead in a game, so long as they take the time to write and execute her character well (most of the time they flop on that part).
The character already turned me off just from that small amount of time
24:15 that's not a loading symbol, that's a wanted level.
The footage looks a lot like (if not the same as) what they showed at SDCC this past July.
I'm already put off by a protagonist that just won't shut the fuck up during gameplay.
8:00 very similar to Ghost of Tsushima’s stance system
I remember that aspect ratio in evil within 1. It sucked so hard. Glad it was given an option in a patch
Then I watched it with proper audio and immediately lost my interest in this game
She already giving girl boss vibes 🤮
Im just excited for a new Star Wars game and I hope it’s good we don’t get enough of these 😭
I'm so glad that EA no longer has a chokehold on the license
@@RelarinScenesJedi games were amazing tho
@@bobbydworm Oh for sure but before that they were fumbling even if I did love both Battlefronts
