Bode is not an old best friend, Cal literally called him the “New Guy” and other members of the crew asked how the new guy did. Cal also asked Bode questions about himself because he was the “New Guy”.
Yeah I think the opening adventure is the first time they've worked together; there's a level of hesitation in their cooperation. It's also why Bode explains his personal story--which we find out later (in the sound memories) was a deliberate psychological approach to gaining Cal's trust. It's some cold CIA shit. Bode is a scary calculating dude. It's also worth noting that Bode wasn't a just a friend who betrayed Cal--he was undercover the whole time, and Cal+Cere were his operational targets. He was tempted to betray the empire and skip out with them, but ultimately he did to them what he was planning to do from the beginning... he just conveniently got rid of his empire spy boss at the same time.
@@serrasedai They also didn't mention that he's a Sith. As soon as he revealed his red light saber. I knew that their was no redeeming him. No matter how good his intentions. His daughter was always going to have an unhappy life with him. I mean his daughter at the end even said how he'd changed after his wife had died. Either he would get her killed or turn her.
@@wkadalieIt's Dagans Lightsaber. If you go back to where you killed Dagan, you can find a force essence of Bode complementing the lightsaber and taking it for himself. I too was genuinely confused when I first saw the red blade appear and thought that it was his too. It also means he's not really a sith either lol
@@vixouu7925 it is Dagan's, once you beat the game you can go back through all the locations and find a bunch of force echoes of Bode, one of which is him taking Dagan's weapon and remarking "good balance for such an old lightsaber, it's almost like I never stopped training."
Oggdo Bogdo (frog boss) is more an easter egg. It's supposed to be stupid OP and cheating because it was such a meme from the first game for how difficult early on it was. Once you beat it, you then unlock a second boss battle where you fight two at once and it's evil.
14:51 to be fair about two things Bode wasn’t best friends with Cal when you first meet, he’s the new guy and the other point about the dark side ability. It’s Cal tapping into the dark side BUT balancing the force with it so after all the terrible things he saw and lost he’s able to channel his anger and use it without completely losing himself. kinda like a certain Jedi with a purple lightsaber 🥸don’t mean to nitpick. This is a great video/breakdown! I thought this game was a lot of fun and I had a great time with it
@@jingleballs9935 I'm pretty sure they just messed up punctuation and the thing about Bode and the thing about the dark side ability are two different points. I also think they were referring to Mace Windu not Revan.
Lol there's literally dialogue in the first mission that suggests Bode and Cal don't know each other and my guy totally missed it and assumed they knew each other for years
13:12 Merrin literally told him to remember who he is after he uses the dark side ability on Nova Garon? Nothing more needs to be said during the rest of the game as the stakes of Cal falling to the dark side has already been set. I think the mechanic is amazing, it's a good representation of how quick and easy it is to become powerful with the dark side, giving the player a choice of the easy way out by using it or not using it at all like a Jedi would.
I was thinking precisely about this. How freaking tempting it is to use the dark side, how overwhelmingly powerful you can become, and especially face to face the enemies that was bothering you half of the game. Having them all on one shot, especially those f***g spinning DT Sentry Droids... :D no but seriously, it was quite nice gaming experience, more immersive dive into SW universe. But I too was thinking about Cal falling to the dark side being already set. When Cal is talking with Merrin about his fear of losing himself, Merrin tells him something like "if you ever stray from your path, we will guide you back", looks at BD, he boops. Or -whatever. . And I was like - here we go for no.3 story! It could be actually pretty amazing, having this arc, with dark Cal and playable Merrin at least for a part of the game.. And I would vouch for a happy ending, the relationship saving someone from the dark side instead of pulling him there. we'll see. But I am hyped already.
@@liduna2000 I love the idea of having an almost unsavable Cal in the third game. I feel like the natural progression to the metroidvania formula would be to introduce optional dark side powers. Cal at the end of this game is so full of hatred and I would love to see Merrin & Kata save him. It's a classic Star Wars trope, but if they can get it right...man it would be good.
I don't think most people noticed, after cal uses the dark side. Inside the meditation menu, the color in the background changes from blue to red. An it stays red even when the game ends. That will definitely be a huge focus in the possible next game. 14:28
I think it'll be him battling with the darkside, then at the end. Bet they'll make him a Rey like character. To be able to take from the dark side, but not let it consume him. @takeshikovacks6708
11:02 He had not been friends with Bode for years, they just met at the beginning of the game. He was a new recruit for that job. Didn't see the betrayal coming, but I did think he may die. 13:12 Merrin totally did talk to Cal about it after choking the ISB commander while still under the effects of the "rage".
Besides frame rate drops I didn't have many technical issues on console. I loved collecting new cosmetics, so it's really interesting hearing how different our experiences were.
Same here; Frame Rate Dropped if I put it in Quality Mode and 1 single Crash during the Walking Through the Laser Cannon Thing scene before the Rayvis fight. _And that crash only occurred _*_after_*_ the first big patch._
Same for me on PC, tbh. Had a couple silly bugs (for example, Magnaguard cloaks going wild, solved by just opening the menu) but I had a good time at Grandmaster and also getting the collectibles. The content felt interesting enough to make it worth it.
22:33- My friend, imagine that your country is controled by a tyran, how easy it would be for you to pack your things and go live in the mountains somehere? It is the same in star wars universe. The Empire is at it's peck of power by this point in star wars history, It s reaching everywere. And even if you go to outside the reach of the Empire, you would have to deal with Crime Lords and Outlaws. That's why the rebellion succeded, the were no easy way to continue a normal life under the Empire control. I recomend you to watch Andor, it is a great serie.
At 22 minutes when you are talking bout why bode can't go anywhere else, it's safe to assume that there isn't. If his main goal is to protect his daughter, then he ain't gonna go to any planet controlled by the empire, which is most of the inner rim. Then you got the outer rim where the emptier barely goes cause of the fact it's so lawless. Youd be living in fear no matter what you do which probably isn't the best for your young daughter. So makes sense he fought tooth and nail to try and succeed, kinda admire him for it
50:25 The "rewards" for exploration reminded me a lot of Hogwarts Legacy, mainly just cosmetics and nonsense to seem like you earned something useful, when in fact it won't make your life easier in any significant way
*Spoiler Warning* I really enjoy the slightly more mature tone within this game with the betrayal by Bode and Cal battling the dark side, the ending as well I love the fact how much more depressing it can be and how it contrasts the ending to Fallen Order. Fallen Order ends with Cal not achieving his goal but still having people he cares about with him whereas Survivor has with Cal achieving his goal but losing people he cares about in the process. A bit more of a sad ending and I love the game for that, getting me really hyped for the sequel, oh wait Hype Makes You Stupid my bad.
One big thing I noticed on Reddit/Twitter was a LOT of people didn’t know that you could get more healing stims in the first game. Big reasoning for why there’s so many in this one. 42:10
@@jamesjohnson8471 that's no excuse for a broken game. Broken is broken. Did we not destroy so many games and franchises before for just being broken even though the game was very good. Assassin's creed unity comes to mind. AC unity was and is still dunked on, so will be Jedi survivor. No exceptions.
@@jamesjohnson8471 farcry6 wasn't broken, r6 Extraction wasn't broken, nor was rider's republic and it's ubisoft. If ubisoft can release not so broken games, anyone can.
50:07 A mullet that I never gonna use? My guy, a mullet and mustache combo with sleevless shirt is my go to set. Going through the story as a galactic redneck is one of the life time experience. I just love character customization in this game
God I really loved this game. I enjoyed Fallen Order, but wasn’t expecting or even really craving a sequel. When Survivor was announced, I was legit excited to see where they’d take the series and I was not disappointed. I played it on PS5 and luckily any performance issues I experienced did not hinder the overall game for me as much as it did for other. Some frame rate drops and screen tearing were the biggest issues for me and only had one or two hard crashes, but the core game itself really pulled me in to the point where those issues were not a major deterrent for me. Respawn was able to deliver on creating a legit amazing sequel, but was hindered by upper management (either in Respawn itself or EA) making them rush the game out in the state that it was. I feel like, if the game didn’t have its issues, we would be talking about this game as a serious GOTY contender. I cannot wait for the follow up to this game, I just hope that EA allows Respawn to cook like they did for this game, and allow them to complete their vision of this story without bogging it down by interference from management to rush the game or even to introduce some type of monetization (which thankfully was kept out of both Fallen Order and Survivor).
1:08:16 i have to say I don’t like rating a game with a single number. There are too many aspects to a game that make the experience good or bad, so I would love to see reviews not submitting one final score but to rate a game in different aspects and give a score for each of it. That way you could give the game credit for the strengths but also give a low score in performance.
My main problem with this game apart from the criminally flawed optimization is the navigation and level design. Not only do climbable and non climbable structures look identical but there are many platforms, walls and structures that look walkable when they aren't. You can easily reach them by jumping but you die from falling though the floor. It's inconsistent because other times they add so many lazy invisible walls or kill zones that you feel caged. I think the spamming of shortcuts is a band aid solution to the problem of navigation being tedious more than challenging, but fun. I haven't had this much trouble finding my way through a level without constantly opening the map since I was 6.
Jedi Survivor to me was an improvement over the last installment. I thought the combat system was fluid as well the story. Luke Stephens always delivers
Definitely had a lot of technical issues. Definitely a great game. I LOVED the combat and got very fluid with it. The combat actually feels similar to God of War but I liked it a lot more.
@@Idontknowanymore-ls4mnI like how you provide absolutely no claims to back up your statement. Survivor is objectively a vast improvement over Fallen Order in nearly every respect, as Luke mentioned. If you don’t personally enjoy the game that’s fine, but if you’re gonna say it’s “forgettable” when the majority of people loved this game then you have to back it up. But of course you’re likely just a troll who has never even played the game before and simply thinks it’s quirky to be different.
I was busy with another game when this game released, so I figured I'd let this one slide for a while. Given the performance and technical stuff, I'm glad I waited but I'll probably wait a good while longer, especially as this year is stacked. I enjoyed the first game and this one looks even better, but I'm willing to wait for further improvements, particularly as I'm on PC.
Two things I would say about this is I didn’t find Bode’s reasons for betrayal that good he could have hid his daughter on Tanaloor with the hidden path. In fact it would have been better for her instead of her being isolated and alone. My second point is a big positive I love how you didn’t get all your skills reset (other than the stims) unlike many games which give you a bs reason for why you no longer have your gear or abilities any more.
Nah, mostly only for AAA games as only those companies know they'll sell millions of copies no matter how good and unbroken the games are. And the "great" part is often not there at all for them, they're just ok or shitty and broken. It's also not a PC exclusive problem, most of these games are broken on consoles too. Your comment is basically "how to tell someone only pays attention to the most AAA stuff and even then just has a vague idea 101".
Technical issues definitely prevented me from wanting to complete more of the game. Eventually, I just got sick of exploring if the game was gonna bug out. Just mainlined the story close to the end and stopped playing once I defeated the final boss
I had the same problem. I was enjoying exploring and stuff but I'd only get to play for a few hours before the game would start crashing. I stopped enjoying the game because I always felt like I was in a race to get to a checkpoint before it crashes and I couldn't enjoy cutscenes for fear of crashing during them which happened a few times forcing me to watch the entire cutscene again just to see the last minute or so. I also had to do the spamel run like three times. I was too infuriated and exhausted with the whole thing to enjoy the game as much as I probably would have otherwise. I didn't have too many performance issues though, no real stuttering and such. I do think I had some visual issues even though I have a beast of a machine and everything was on max. I had to turn off raytracing I think it was because that was causing major issues and doing so stopped my game crashing as often.
Same, I tried going for a new game plus run but the absolute dogshit ass monkey performance was too much to bear. I don't even know how I managed to go through with it enough to finish the main story at all.
Bode wasn’t working with Cal for years, in fact their first mission together is the first mission of the game. They say as much within the first couple hours or so.
"Get gud" is applicable to DS games because they're ABOUT struggle, the whole point is the struggle against purposelessness and the progression from nobody to somebody. "Get gud" doesn't mean there's some minimum standard of skill to reach, it means that the process of getting good, of making progress through the repeated testing of your own determination against a world that cares not for you, IS the point. Heck, someone who can effortlessly beat any opponent, is failing to 'get gud' because they're not forcing themselves to make progress, they don't need to 'get gud', because they're already there. You know who IS succeeding at "getting gud"? Somebody who keeps at it, no matter how many times they're beaten, just getting a little farther with each turn (like a drill). That's all DS stuff, though, not SW stuff. SW is about how radical it is to blow up space-nazis.
Definition of broken: “having been fractured or damaged and no longer in one piece or in working order.“ Kinda wild I was able to complete something broken
1:05:34 Not sure if you know, but you can also slice droids before engaging in combat by shooting electro darts at them. That way they are still full health and don't die instantly. It's especially helpful because you can take over Droidekas or B2 Battle Droids before you have to fight them.
Bought this game on the 13th and just finished it earlier today. Happy to report with my ~30 hours on the game I only ever encountered 1 real bug which caused me to fall through the ground once . Glad I waited awhile after release to dive into it, I was a huge fan of the first one and I thought they did amazing with this one. I was extremely invested into the story and super satisfied with how it ended. Can't wait to see what they have planned for the next one!
22:30 : slight spoilers for Andor, the Disney+ TV show. In that show, after the main characters pull of a heist and escape to a far-away remote planet, it hard cuts to some time later (weeks, months, years, I don’t remember) and the characters get found and arrested by the Empire for something completely unrelated. That showed just how vast and far-reaching the empire is, and that no matter where you go, they will be able to find you.
I didnt have THAT big of an issue with the map. Its similar to returnal’s maps and it was very useful to me. I get that its a big clunky and confusing at times and there were bugs with the zoom and view controls when using the map but overall i used it very often and it was effective at guiding me. I do agree that it could be wayyyy better though, there was basically no difference between this and the first game’s map system.
Outside performance issues, My biggest issue with the game is there's a severe lack of itemization and rewards to make it worthwhile. Like, in Elden Ring you venture around every corner because there might be a weapon, a spell, an upgrade item, and so on. There's nothing in this game but shitty cosmetics I don't care about, currency to buy... worthless customized skins and some perks. After 10 hours I just didn't see the point in anything but the mainline quest. The bounties seem cool, but they literally reward you with nothing. Exploration and platforming is cool... but unless you get a rare stim upgrade, it's all still pointless. Same goes for leveling up. Most of the skills in the game are pointless because the force meter is terrible and pointless. I got all the stuff I needed within the first 10 hours. Leveling up offers nothing, and having to re-fight enemies is pointless to this end.
The reason Bode didn't just 'pick any random planet' is that he is a combination of duplicitous and obsessive. He makes an irrational extreme decision that not only kills other people but actually endangers his own child because of his obsession with absolute control of the people and situations around him. He wants Tanalore bc it's the most extreme solution. The Jedi being there means he can't control the situation and Kata's safety. But in his pursuit of this, and his rage and paranoia influenced by being a dark side user, He drags his daughter to an unsafe place, with no clear plan for how she would grow up or live, and in the midst of the combat endangeres her. His dilemma is meant to be sympathetic, but he makes very bad choices. He is another reflection of how Anakin fell: Jedi are egotistical controlling warriors and it's a short walk from "protect my people" to mass destruction and death. I even think that if he had just surrendered Cal probably would not have executed him, but that was intolerable and Bode had put himself into a box where he had no ending but death. If he hadn't taken the compass, only betrayed them then left somewhere else in the galaxy, I really think Cal would have let him go. Even so, I think Cal's decision to pursue this place as a goal for the big rebellion plan is going to be a problem for his own journey in the next game. This is a foreshadowing for Cal's own potential fate.
Personally i had it way easier than you seem to when it came to the map, its not perfect but i could read it well and didn't really feel like it wasn't enough, it follows star wars lore and is kinda just a product of the universe. I find maps like the one in ark where you can't see yourself so you need to already know the map like the back of your hand way worse because it actively makes me disregard the map in every way because I don't have a real use for it
This game was an amazing experience (in my opinion). The game had such a grand and cinematic approach that was really awesome to see! I played on ps5 on a big TV and a high-end home theater, and the soundtrack, sfx, graphics, cut scenes, basically just everything about it sucked me in. Despite a handful of bugs, I genuinely enjoyed this game. I can't wait to see how they conclude this story.
53:42 "Holotactics" My disappointment was immeasurable when I found out Holotactics actually does not include all scanned enemies and the Rancor isn't a playable unit.
I really really liked this game, but the fact that I had the bug which wouldn't let me unlock the bounty hunter tree really made me feel like I'm missing a cool part of the game. That definitely colors my reception of this game overall.
I think in the next game, Cal is going to get that development of understanding Bode more. I think Kata will be like a daughter to Cal and i think shes going to show force powers and Cal will be faced with training her for her own protection, but understanding the risk that this puts her in. I think that he will face decisions where she is in danger and he must struggle with the darkside in that way and maybe find a balance like using the stance Vaapad like Mace Windu which in cannon taps into the darkside while balancing it with the lightside of the force. I think itd be cool for them to incorporate different lightsaber stances beyond like the daul weild, crossgaurd, ect. But the different stances in cannon that jedis use and have different pros and cons. Hopefully theyll find a way to give you access to all of them on the fly like Ghost of Tsushima and make them benefit different enemy encounters. I know thats a lot, but i think if this game takes another step forward like Survivor did from Fallen Order, i think its very possible.
I am a ridiculously huge fan of this jedi... series (?) of fallen order and survivor and i fell in love with the first game with all my heart i replayed it about a million times to scratch that itch. in this video specifically when luke points out the different stances and their various viability in different situations for different players, I figured the weakest would be the blaster-saber but after playing through the game for like 200 hours i found myself having used the blaster saber for probably 90% of the entire game. I kept the double-ended on me at all times for deflecting capabilities and special moves but the blaster-saber seriously was my absolute go to for general use. the fact you can use it to STUN enemies while slashing with your saber is absolutely crazy never mind the fact that the saber and blaster WORK TOGETHER IN COMBOS. literally one of the best things added to the game and i love that luke pointed it out. For anybody wondering if its good, im a balls-to-the-wall kill everything in sight as fast and as aggressively as humanly possible and this lightsaber-blaster stance is easily one of the best combinations ive ever used in any videogame in my entire life. TRY IT OUT.
How badass would it be to be able to play as a cursed undead pirate chasing down the gold pieces from the first movie across the seas, or even a completely original story set in that universe.
13:30 - i kinda expect Jaro Tapal & Cere to help guide him (through the force) to get past his dark side tendancies in the 3rd game. On about Jaro, i was surprised he didn't appear at all in Survivor considering how much stronger in the force Cal is now as opposed to JFO. Depending on when the next one takes place, might even be a Jedi we already know helping him, maybe Rahm Kota, Ahsoka or Luke Skywalker
7:35 instead of bosses' heads, it could be small holograms you can check out. idk it would be weird if Cal had a room full of dead bosses' heads as some kind of trophy room.
supposedly the whole thing with "not being safe" anywhere but tanalorr i think is the idea that you can't escape the empire. Cal's hide and so many others have hid so many times and the empire still found them. Bode jumped at the idea of having a safe haven hidden from the empire and completely untraversable without the compass or crazy piloting. Since bode worked with the empire he was stuck in their custody but found a way to escape them permanently
I guess I was lucky that (on PS5) the only issues I had were that some textures/environments had delayed loading and the doors inside the Pyloon's Saloon sometimes took a while to open
It's also worth noting because when a game is broken at launch that has future implications. Specifically for physical collectors. If a game is broken at launch that mean anyone who has a day one disc has a broken copy on that disc. Once servers are inevitably shut down, we can't download the patches to "fix" the game anymore. That means the game/disc we have paid for is nearly useless despite having a physical copy u can hold in ur hands.
Games coming out broken has become a plus to me. As long as it's broken, its the perfect motivation to NOT buy the game. And the longer it sits on the shelf, the cheaper it gets. Therefore, by the time all the patches that fixes the game come out, the game is already on sale. That's how I got a workout copy of Cyberpunk for $25. Broken releases can benefit the consumer and hurt the corporations like this.
I was looking forward to this game so much. I had to play almost two playthroughs to get the bounties to work. Even after patch 1.06, the final two bounties wouldn't trigger. This resulted in running through the game as fast as possible on my second playthrough just to finish things up. That plus the performance issues took this from an easy 9/10 for me to a 7. Unfortunately, it also took Respawn off of my 'preorder without question' list.
i really enjoyed the game, was fortunate to avoid most of the performance issues (I think because AMD loves stuffing VRAM in their cards). Its really gorgeous in some spots, and I always love a good native photo mode. I do wish there were more planets - I think Koboh was needlessly large, especially because it wasn't very visually interesting. I liked exploring coruscant way more because it wasn't just another grassy planet. I also remember that the difficulty spike between knight and grandmaster was massive, almost like they needed another difficulty tier between them to hit the sweet spot.
I think regarding the dark side ability, maybe in a sequel the player can experience Cal's temptations to the dark side by having the dark side ability only available to you when you're struggling in a fight. Like when you're struggling with a horde of enemies, you're low on health, no health stims and the screen gets darker and the option to turn on the dark side ability starts glowing, so like the player is tempted to press the big glowing button. I don't know how they would go about making this system, but I think it would be pretty cool. And like the more the player uses it like in gameplay Cal just activates it by himself without the player activating that button, I don't know, it sounded cool in my mind.
The big problem with the “plot twist” was that they did AFTER you defeated Rayvis and Gera. There was no immediate threat and things seemed to be going a little TOO well, so it was pretty obvious that something was coming. They even had Cal confront Bode about his clear disappointment in Cals idea right before everything happened. You knew Cordova, Cere, Greez, or Merrin would never betray you, so of course it had to be the new guy.
I agree that you could see the twist coming a mile away, but for me, the way Bode's story and situation with his daughter was handled after that was so well done that I think it more than made up for it. That conversation at the Imperial base, kept civil only for the daughter's sake... man, that was some good writing and acting.
Right where you take control of Cere is where my save file got corrupted. It sucks so bad. I spent the weeks leading out to the release replaying Fallen Order - completed it the day Survivor launched - and have been playing that ever since. Until now… so if anyone has a save file that happens to be around that chapter - chapter 5 or 6 I think - I would really appreciate the hookup.
I was bummed when I had to stop playing it 10 hrs into the game. The fps gave me a headache, like a strobe light, and with that awful map going in and out in and out of the map just crushed me! i deleted the game and threw it aside til they fix it.
The best way to reward exploration imho would be to give something like diamonds or coins and have a vendor that you can use the currency with that sells the different visuals so you can decide what you want.
I agree with your wish for a Pirate of the Caribbean open world AAA narrative game. I've been wanting something to scratch that pirate itch for awhile!
About 5 trophies away from the platinum for this game on PS5 and I absolutely loved it. A lot more improved than Fallen Order and I loved that one also. Sucks that it launched with so many issues but glad I waited for a few patches.
On the topic of video game reviewers, Joseph Anderson has an amazing history with the Jedi games and I would reccomend you watch compilations of him breaking this and the previous game
Bode is not a friend of Cals for years they mention a couple times during courasant that this is bodes first mission with the crew and they're seeing If he's a good fit. Also cal and bode literally get to know eachother in the prolog
your wish for a POTC game would actually sound amazing!!! like imagine if we got to create our very own pirate in the world of the franchise, meeting characters from the films along the way etc etc. that’d be something i’d definitely be up for!
Definitely agree it was a little weird that him embracing the dark side was never spoken about, however, it was the end of the game to be fair. Also cere was the only one who would really tell him not to go to the dark side but that would be a bit hypocritical since she also went dark. His girl friend (forgot her name) wouldnt really tell him not to either. I think this grey Jedi thing is going to be a focal point of the 3rd game.
Remember that Bode was a jedi, so Kata will likely be force sensitive. Remember the Holocron that Fallen Order was all about. Couple that with the fact the Empire knows all about Bode and only let him and Kata live so long as he's useful, he's basically living with a house arrest tracker and the moment he goes rogue the Empire would hunt him and Kata down. It makes sense he'd want to live in the Abyss where they can't get to him or his daughter.
It would make sense if it was a rushed decision, but Bode has a lot of time to think about it. If his plan worked his daughter would live a painful life interacting with only 1 human being and when he died later condemning her to live isolated for the rest of her life making her insane
I bought this game day 1 and I felt like I was losing my mind, because I was having such bad screen tearing and frame drops, and no one else i personally knew playing the game said it was that bad. Even after all the patches I still had constant stutters in performance mode. At one point the cut scenes looked like they were running at 400p. I’m usually pretty tolerant to these issues but not with this one. I even forced my console to use VRR even though it said it wasn’t supported. I played on PS5 btw.
I don’t need base customization I actually kinda like that the rooms in the base reflect the characters and that’s less feasible when we customize them
Did u all forget : Kratos has done that TWICE putting hope into humanity and being better than gods. In GOW 3 he decides to release hope into the world instead of giving it to Athena so no its not char development for Kratos in Ragnarok cause he has done that before if anything its a rehash of what happens in GOW3 but with a different deity and mythology and order of events since in one he gives ppl hope after he destroyed the gods and here he is giving hope to loki before the gods destroy the world.

And I love it lol
Gotta love the double rancor in a tiny area in Coruscant as well - fun times!
I thought this game was a lot of fun and I had a great time with it
Bode isn’t revan or anything close
@@jingleballs9935 I'm pretty sure they just messed up punctuation and the thing about Bode and the thing about the dark side ability are two different points. I also think they were referring to Mace Windu not Revan.

Make a new one!
If you were genuinely shocked at him being a villain, you aren't too bright
Luke talks about the game like he skipped the cutscenes but still wanted to make an hour long review of it
He didn’t play the game
I don't think most people noticed, after cal uses the dark side. Inside the meditation menu, the color in the background changes from blue to red. An it stays red even when the game ends. That will definitely be a huge focus in the possible next game. 14:28
I hope so
Noticed this too. I’m hoping it’s just full dark side cal next game ngl

Once you start down the dark path, forever will it dominate your destiny, consume you it will.
It’s crazy to me how trashed this game got for performance issues meanwhile FF 16 is getting praised up and down.

*Spoiler Warning*
I really enjoy the slightly more mature tone within this game with the betrayal by Bode and Cal battling the dark side, the ending as well I love the fact how much more depressing it can be and how it contrasts the ending to Fallen Order.

So far star wars Jedi survivor is my game of the year I want a sequel in the future.
But the game was broken on launch though.
@@mohammadashikurrahman7530hate to tell ya but most AAA Games are gonna be broken at drop
I agree. Performance issues aside, this game is actually very good and enjoyable.
50:07 A mullet that I never gonna use? My guy, a mullet and mustache combo with sleevless shirt is my go to set. Going through the story as a galactic redneck is one of the life time experience. I just love character customization in this game
Ew lol
Not even close to god of war combat, the parry is only similar thing. (imo)

It's not a great game at all. It's actually very forgettable no offense but to each their own.
“Great and broken” welcome to 2023 pc Game releases 😂
2023 game releases period**
Nah, mostly only for AAA games as only those companies know they'll sell millions of copies no matter how good and unbroken the games are. And the "great" part is often not there at all for them, they're just ok or shitty and broken.
It's also not a PC exclusive problem, most of these games are broken on consoles too.
Your comment is basically "how to tell someone only pays attention to the most AAA stuff and even then just has a vague idea 101".
Broken on ps5 as well
@@MuscarV2 that’ll teach that casual gamer to make a flippant comment!
Not just 2023 😶
Technical issues definitely prevented me from wanting to complete more of the game.
Were you on console or pc
Bode wasn’t working with Cal for years, in fact their first mission together is the first mission of the game. They say as much within the first couple hours or so.
34:48 - "Water, I need water." lmao
i REALLY like how this video is structured and made very well done
For some reason one of the biggest issues I had with this game is that every fucking boss battle is in some sort of circular arena or room
Definition of broken: “having been fractured or damaged and no longer in one piece or in working order.“
Kinda wild I was able to complete something broken
Finding a mullet was incredibly exciting Luke. How could you be this wrong! 🤣🤣
I like how Infamous 2 did it with good/bad karma. Making a choice for one side or another changed the powers you were able to use.
Brilliant mate, and very helpful as I need to finally get this game and jump back into that Jedi fantasy power mode! 👍🏾
Game of the year
What a shill, you play games at 10fps and don't care, who does that.
Happy to see this video pop up!
That "Speaking of Jesus, let's talk about enemies that respawn." made me laugh so hard!
He hasn’t been working with Bode for Years. He was the New Guy .
Personally i had it way easier than you seem to when it came to the map, its not perfect but i could read it well and didn't really feel like it wasn't enough, it follows star wars lore and is kinda just a product of the universe. I find maps like the one in ark where you can't see yourself so you need to already know the map like the back of your hand way worse because it actively makes me disregard the map in every way because I don't have a real use for it
Comment on the BD-1 commentary, you can use him before combat starts to take over robots which can help a ton on higher difficulty
That hype makes you stupid shirt is dope af, I want one😂, great review bro your the only video game reviewer I can watch 🙏

37:00 - "Speaking of Jesus. let's talk about enemies that respawn." I think I like that a bit too much. Nice doing, video liked.
53:42 "Holotactics"
My disappointment was immeasurable when I found out Holotactics actually does not include all scanned enemies and the Rancor isn't a playable unit.
TRY IT OUT.
Yeah Cal met bode on that job. When you know the twist and do a new game+ , the hints are there.
I kept getting lost & the map was useless.
"Speaking of Jesus, let's talk about enemies who respawn" is the funniest thing you've ever said.
One of best gaming experiences last year
How badass would it be to be able to play as a cursed undead pirate chasing down the gold pieces from the first movie across the seas, or even a completely original story set in that universe.
Speaking of Pirates of the Caribbean game I think blade runner would be a crazy open world game
11:14 someone already addressed this but it is clearly stated that bode is the new kid to the group
37:01 as a christian i chuckled 😅
17:15 Sea of thieves exists, Luke. It has a Pirates of the Caribbean story and everything. Art style is stylized but you would like it.
“Speaking of Jesus, let’s talk about enemies that respawn…”
Nice segue.
I called the bode plot twist when he reacted strange to cal saying may the force be with him at the beginning
I had next to no issues on my PS5 and I had the game on launch. Only had bad frame rate once in the entire game
Just checking in, watching this for the first time nearly 18 months after it first came out. So not quite years later, but very close.
Amazing I had been asking my friends like "is it at least playable now?" n none could answer. Granndd.
41:03 they were. My first play through of FO I think I ended up with 5 stims. I got all 12 stims easily in survivor
For the record. I played this on release on PS5 and I barely experienced huge bugs and glitches. For me I had a great time
About 5 trophies away from the platinum for this game on PS5 and I absolutely loved it. A lot more improved than Fallen Order and I loved that one also. Sucks that it launched with so many issues but glad I waited for a few patches.
Works perfectly on Series X
Not lying I didn’t expect the plot twist at all with Bode😂😂😂😂
The fact that you could not take Merin to a proper date was the biggest missed opportunity.
That would be a great Tshirt for your shop: "...speaking of Jesus, let's talk about enemies that respawn."🤣🤣🤣👍🏻
I guess I'll return back to this video in a couple months when I finally buy the damn game.
your wish for a POTC game would actually sound amazing!!! like imagine if we got to create our very own pirate in the world of the franchise, meeting characters from the films along the way etc etc. that’d be something i’d definitely be up for!
"Speaking of Jesus, lets talk about enemies who respawn." 🤣🤣
I thought bode was new to the crew or atleast that's what I got from the dialog and that's what set my doubts into motion
yeah I think the first time cal works with him is the first mission of the game
Yeah, they even refer to Bode as "the new guy" several times in the intro mission.
I don’t need base customization I actually kinda like that the rooms in the base reflect the characters and that’s less feasible when we customize them
I really want them to explore him leaving the code behind but not evil. Like a true Gray Jedi.
Im lucky i only had a few glitches throughtout my enitre playthrough so for me its definetley a 8/10
Did u all forget : Kratos has done that TWICE putting hope into humanity and being better than gods.
In GOW 3 he decides to release hope into the world instead of giving it to Athena
so no its not char development for Kratos in Ragnarok cause he has done that before
if anything its a rehash of what happens in GOW3 but with a different deity and mythology and order of events since in one he gives ppl hope after he destroyed the gods and here he is giving hope to loki before the gods destroy the world.
