    The second episode with the Russian adoption just breaks my heart. This poor girl. I was adopted and had a pretty bad attachment disorder. I know that feeling of deep anger, hurt, fear, and rage. I didn't act out. I internalized it. But I remember not understanding it or where it came from. It absolutely affected my family relationships. I also understand the parents concern, but to return her?!?! To abandon this child again?!?! Reprehensible. In hindsight, I've learned how dangerous it is to pair an adopted child with an anxious attachment style with parents with an avoidant attachment style. I think the parents needed as much therapy as the child in this case. All said, dare I say the right thing ended up happening. I don't think she'd be nearly as well-adjusted and healthy if she had stayed in that family.
    And, I'm sorry, but who is stupid enough to set off pyrotechnics inside a building? Moronic. It sounds like the tour manager is at fault.

    The Caralee story. Such a tough heartbreaking situation. Idk what to believe. If what they’re saying is true, I understand. But I am not getting that vibe. The vibe I get is yes, she does have some psychiatric issues but she’s in a situation with parents that have no clue how to deal with them and just want a “white picket fence” facade of a life. I do not agree with them lying to her of where she was going and why. I feel that transition could have been handled differently. Could they have not had her placed in a facility that they could still visit? And then bridge the gap between a new foster home or placement? Also as far as the little boys account of the incident that occurred, that sounds 100% coached. And now hearing her explanation as an adult of the incident and that she was coached of what to say to the psychiatrist, I have no doubt. A child of those ages would not have those words. I’m very glad to see she’s grown into such a wonderful adult with a beautiful fulfilling life. That family was clearly not capable of loving the way she needed to be loved.

      It's so unsettling to even be willing to "return" a child because it betrays the promise you make to them. I cannot imagine dealing already with extraordinary behaviors I cannot control as a child and even though I may not ever totally trust my adoptive family to love me, the devastating confirmation of all my worst fears upon "return." I would not be stable. I used to take for granted these kids locked in a closet from 2-13 on a diet of water and corn left to wallow in my own defecation. The kinds of people who go through that and emerge stronger are exceptional. I'm not sure I would and I'm imagining being "returned" and it is breaking my heart in a way I think could change my life.

    • @SaVanityVan
      @SaVanityVan 6 днів тому +1

      Her behavior is indicative if an attachment disorder, which is very common in Russian adoptees due to the harshness of the area, especially on orphans. Attachment disorders are extremely dangerous and can turn into psychopathy in adolescence, many young children with ADs have sexually abused, tortured, and murdered their younger siblings and parents. They're extremely difficult to treat and it must be done in early childhood, and the treatments are all quite new.
      There's no reason to think they're lying. They were quick to get rid of her, that's for sure, but it's understandable given that at the time what was wrong with her would have barely been understood and she was a major danger to the infant in the house. A child like this needs to be in a single child household with guardians that have the time and resources to solely focus on the child's treatment.

It appeared the child was a danger to herself and everyone else in the family. I'm just curious as to what you would be the next steps to take. Frankly, I think the fault lies with the orphanage who clearly LIED about this child's mental health but hey maybe I'm not seeing it clearly.

    • @addiemay.illsmay
      @addiemay.illsmay 4 дні тому

      @@AlpineSprinklesdid you watch it until the end when Troy catches up with sabrina as an adult? She’s happily married with 3 kids, but she explained her side of the story and I believe her. I was on the parents side at first, but I thought it was weird how quick Joshua said his sister tried to kill him. He was 4, even if she was trying to kill him he wouldn’t have understood that. What kind of parent would tell their 4 year old that? Even if it was true that’s not an appropriate response to give to your toddler.
      It was the lack of remorse that made me start questioning the parents. They were in such a hurry to leave Russia fully knowing they just abandoned a child for a SECOND time now. The mother doesn’t even shed a tear? If they really believed sabrina had so many mental health and attachment issues, how could they actually think returning her would help her? If they thought of Sabrina as their child like they did Joshua, why couldn’t Joshua stay at grandmas ever? Sabrina is put in a pediatric psych ward for 4 months and they wouldn’t consider even coming up with some kind of alternating schedule first? They didn’t try “everything”, not even close.
      Sabrina’s side of the story is what fully changed my mind. Even if the parents were telling the truth, I find it very hard to believe not a single person or organization in the US would take Sabrina. If that happened then Sabrina might talk about what actually happened one day and expose them for the pathetic humans they are. Why do you think they declined the update interview? They know what they did. No excuses for abandoning a child, period. Especially in another country. I can’t even imagine the pain and trauma sabrina had to endure, I was heartbroken for her. The woman from the original orphanage who rescued her and brought her back to the US is a hero. Her face was also another indication the parents are full of shit. I know a “they are full of shit” facial expression from anywhere.
      Children aren’t returnable just because they aren’t good enough for you they are quite literally a lifelong commitment. People constantly get bashed for rehoming pets bc “pets are a lifelong commitment”, even if it comes down to a place to live for someone and their kids. Attack landlord’s pet policies not people just trying to survive.
      But now we all know where the producers of Orphan got their pitch from

    Sabrina's Story(Caralee):
    I feel bad for Sabrina. Those parents should have just taken her home alone, let everyone get adjusted, THEN bring in amother child. That poor girl had trauma and needed patience, love, and attention. I believe her story and I am so glad she ended up doing so well in life. People are more loyal to rescued shelter animals than they are children. Shame on those parents. Sabrina, I see you girl. I'm sorry for what happened to you, but just as James(Bible) tells us, we go through our trials and tribulations to comfort others who face the same trials. I was adopted at one from Russia, and have infant abandonment syndrome. Because she was at the orphanage for critical years of her life and development would warrant her behaviour and mental health issues. That were manipulated by her adoptive parents.
      Now they’re abandoning her in Russia. In Russia. Again.
      Kids are so intuitive. They know.
      It’s so so cruel. I’m happy she got a happy outcome and was able to move back. Post Soviet Russia is devastating.

    1. The perpetrator was only questioned on the phone - an unforgivable superficiality, why was he questioned at all then? Either you work carefully or not at all! And why were the fingerprints secured at the crime scene not compared with all persons in the victim's immediate vicinity - suspected or not? Not such a big effort, right?
    2. His fingerprints were then archived in 1984 - a regular routine repeated query in the database would have solved the case at the latest then!
    3. By the way, why did they have to observe him in order to get current DNA and even rummaged through his garbage? With the evidence already available - DNA and fingerprints - it should have been possible to simply summon him and secure his DNA even against his will!
    Conclusion: The perpetrator was able to live 38 years in freedom because of inadequate police investigations!

    I very much agree with the brothers. I mean, I worked for fortune five hundred company and we weren't allowed to miss any kind of osha guidelines. And you can look at hundreds and hundreds of cases where inspectors didn't do their job and there were unsafe conditions in houses and office buildings where they've been held responsible. I think at the end of the day, if I was a victim, I would obviously be angry at all of them, but I'd be mostly angry. At the one with the power to prevent doors from being opened. This would have never happened if the code violation had to be fixed first.

    I feel so bad for the adopted girl. I really think the BIGGEST problem was that she needed to be an only child, in order to overcome the feelings of being ignored. I only get to see this news story and don't get the whole picture. Maybe I'm wrong. I just got that feeling by watching how the adoptive parents spoke about her in front of the boy. It was like they were telling her she wasn't as good as him.

To me it sounds like the mom and dad are doing this to the kids and that little four year old, admitting or saying that he was almost killed that sound like it was practice and taught to him by somebody somebody needs to look into the mom and dad and help save those kids. If they said they have cameras everywhere and alarms. Where is the video of her hurting the dog? I think it’s the mom and dad that are wanting attention.

    I’ve already commented on the first two the first time they ran. The third one I remember when it happened. I always thought the pyrotechnics guy for the band was held responsible for it. I don’t know why I thought that. I do know this tragic accident caused a major change in the way special effects like those are used in night clubs. It’s a shame that it took so many lives to get those laws changed. Just like the Who concert where people were trampled caused the “General seating” areas to be removed from concerts. Both were dangerous back then and I can remember being at many shows and/or concerts worrying that a bad accident was going to happen.

    This is kind of an interesting story for the nightclub owners and the fire. There are reasons that inspectors are supposed to inspect things by certain codes, and if the inspectors didn't do their job, that is actually who should've been on trial, not the brothers. Well the brothers too because at the end of the day, you are the responsible party because you own it. However the inspecting agencies should have also been on trial because the brothers wouldn't have even been able to open the doors if they failed their inspections. In my opinion, your agencies that give the green light.They're the biggest weight of the responsibility. The second biggest way to that responsibility is, if the band really did not get permission, then they were reckless and it should have absolutely.Been mostly their fault.

    I just read a case study on the Station fire. Largely because of this fire ALL nightclubs are now required to be sprinkled regardless of occupant load. You can't stop owners from making changes that violate code once they are occupying the space. What is not shown in the 3-D diagram is that a table was placed by the entry that reduced the main entrance to less than half of what it was supposed to be. They also had more occupants that night than allowed. Those brothers got off easy. Blatant disregard for fire exits and using flammable materials for sound proofing are on them. Even a lesser event than the pyrotechnics would've caused massive fire with that foam in there. And with exits blocked and obscured disaster was going to be the outcome. It is too bad the fire marshal didn't shut them down instead of giving them time.

    • @carolynwalls6787
      @carolynwalls6787 7 годин тому

      @@strangevisions5162 I did watch the whole episode. And there were multiple violations in addition to the foam. Yes, it could've been tested but it is possible the fire marshal saw the documentation the owners had that said it was the other flame-retardant foam. It isn't typical to start ripping chunks from the wall and trying to light them on fire, usually the material data sheets are taken as legit. But allowing them to remain open when fire exits were blocked was a discretionary move that I'm sure he regrets.

    What does "that door needs to come down" even mean? Does that mean there is an open space there? Then the door "goes up" and there is an EXIT sign above the door, but the sign on the door say, "Keep this door closed" WFT?
    The excuse is they put the door back up to stop the noise. They knew they were breaking the law. They were told to "take the door down". Which seems that they would fill the space in to make a whole wall. That would keep the noise out and follow what the inspector said neede to be done. The brother's are neglectant in at least that. A fire would have happened eventually.
    And the band should have been more knowledgeable and careful when they were presented with each and every venue. They are guilty of lighting the fire.

    its so sad about Sabrina. I really feel for her. when adopting a child you should never EVER even think about giving them back. That is your child, warts and all. If you birthed that child you wouldn't have given it away because of some issues. They didn't even try to parent her, they didn't get the connection they wanted so threw her away.
    The fire: I really dont feel like it was those brothers fault and I completely understand why they didn't go to trial, it would be harrowing for the survivors and victims families to hear it all over. It speaks to the sense of responsibility they felt for the victims of the fire. also, one of them was in the premises at the time! The fire marshal, the guy who set off the pyrotechnics AND the foam company are those that should've been held to account. If I order a gala apple but they send me a braeburn, i wouldn't know the difference, it's the same for the foam.
