I watch these videos and thank God everyday for my marriage. My husband and I have been married almost 5 years and have been together 7 years. He is my 2nd marriage and I am his first. Im almost 44 and he is 45. We met at the perfect time in our lives and are truly best friends, lovers, and soul mates. He served as a machine gunner in the Marine Corps yet is so incredibly gentle to myself, his daughter from a previous relationship, and my 2 daughters from my previous marriage. I trust him completely and have never once had even the slightest hint that he would ever lift a finger to hurt me. Although I know if it came to defending me or our children he is capable of great violence from his time as a Marine Corps machine gunner in the infantry. In the few heated arguments we have had over the years I have genuinely never had to worry about him harming me physically ( unlike my ex who slapped me several times and would shove me to the ground ). I point this out because while the killer in this video was also in the Marines it doesnt mean that it is common. Military men that serve in combat roles have to be able to be able to do great violence to other humans. Sone of them are unable to compartmentalize that emotion and actions and it is always there and they cant control it. That cliche puts the blame on the victims for what happened to them. Even those who may be at a store or a gas station... anywhere. The victim had a right to be there.
Thank you! I started yelling when I heard them word it like that. Only redeeming possibility is that it was re-aired from years ago, before we started pushing back at fathers not doing any actual fathering, but still, awful.
The Donnah Winger case. I don't know why 48 hours never brought up the 911 call from Mark Winger. On that call to 911 (at 1:28.08) you can hear Roger Harrington still alive. What's not shared is Mark ended the call to 911 to shoot Roger again. This is why his body is facing the opposite way. Also, the neighbour of the Winger's say she heard a 1st shot and then minutes later, a 2nd shot. This was covered on Forensic Files. Condolences to Sarah-Jane and Roger Harrington's family. Mark Winger deserves life in prison.
I actually question if she was even telling the truth. She probably wanted to get him back for breaking up with her or not getting back with her after her supposed friend's death. Also, I'm really suspicious of the detective that changed his mind. The first time, he said the position of Harrington's body completely matched up with what Winger said happened. Now all of a sudden, he's telling a different tale. If we analyzed them and what they say like they do suspects, then that HUGE discrepancy would be a big red flag about the detective. So to be honest, I'm not sure what happened.
"The FBI interviewed him for four hours as he babysat his young daughter." BABYSAT?? Since when do we refer to parental care of a child as "babysitting". Of course the question is rhetorical, because if it was the mother at home with the child I'm betting 48 Hours wouldn't even think about saying, "While she babysat her young daughter".
Defense attorneys disgust me. Sure, I agree people deserve a fair trial which includes a competent defense. But the things they come up with are ludicrous. They look incredibly foolish 🤦♀️
I know, and it seems so pointless sometimes, but keep in mind that we want criminals to have the best defense they can get! What we DONT WANT, is for they to say their trial was not fair and be able to be set free on a technicality . When there is proof the jury usually get it right.
@@bebitamira3054 I fully understand that and agree, however, the defense should be rational and reasonable which many are not. It’s making a joke of the court systems and often times extremely insulting to the victim. Especially when it’s obvious the defendant did the crime.
Oh and third story: 20/20 also does a great job on this story. They also cover how Sarah Jane (Deborah’s mom) and step Dad, Ira, were shut out of Bailey’s life until she was 16 years old. Finally the Nanny mom allowed her to meet her grandparents and now they have a relationship. But Mark basically shut out Deborah’s parents out of Bailey’s life. It totally destroyed them. Also, 20/20 covers the life of the Nanny, which was fascinating (they actually had three biological kids in addition to Bailey).
“Fixated on her phone” is hardly a rare occurrence. Also, not uncommon at all to be watching your home security system either. Not sticking up for her, she’s most definitely guilty.
Second story…. To Beniger’s wife - wake up! He admitted to killing Yvonne- you are seriously waiting for him to get out of prison?! Do you have that low of self esteem.. wake the f up! Love Peter Van Sant btw….. he never gives up.
@gasmith7486 how is that evil? Under the constitution, everyone is entitled to a defense. You do know that people who can't afford an attorney are appointed a defender by the state, right? Are saying that people should be found guilty (even if they aren't) just because someone of power says they are? Scary that we've had people fight for democracy and so many detest it. Wow
Being a divorced woman for more than 30 years, raising my son alone and dreaming of having had a nice, normal family: how can you do that to the love of your life??? And destroy your children's and so many other lives? She deserves to go to hell.
Yeah I'd like to have a had a nice normal family for my kids too. But, I guess not everyone gets the nice family life. I've learned to just accept that I will never have that. I've also accepted being content with being single.
You sound like me, girl. I raised 3 and always hoped for that too. Now here I am alone. I always wanted that but I feel lucky I didn't run into some sweet talker who would end up killing me or my children.
Super odd thing to say. Most widows continue to wear their wedding rings and still consider themselves married until they adjust to the idea that their spouse is gone.
How shallow is that woman who opened this story It's not about how you look or how beautiful your home is etc it's about the state of mind, my son was gorgeous and everyone wanted to be a part of his life but what they didn't know nor wanted to know was just how disturbed his mind was.
As sad as it is that the sister passed away, she did what she wanted for her sister and now she is with her sister! RIP!! My heart aches for the only sister a live my condolences!
They offered a plea deal to save money. DISGUSTING. As a taxpayer, I would have gladly help to raise additional funds to have him go to trial on ALL charges. 26 years is a travesty.
Beyond crazy. All she had to do was to seek a divorce and she would have free to live with who ever she wants with a multi million dollar settlement without anyone losing their life
Hi I understand how you feel. Sometimes life is more complicated. I am married to a narcissist sociopath. I stayed in the marriage because if I divorced him it would mean I would have no control over who was in my children’s lives. We are now informally separated but I waited until the children were grown. But I do understand how you feel
I have 2 ex husbands and wouldn't have killed either even if I knew I could get away with it. As acrimonious as the divorces were I can't imagine doing such a thing. What the hell is wrong with these people!
Ok. That is the most heinous set of circumstances I've seen. The lies! That poor mother & her beautiful baby! Why didn't he just divorce Donnah? Cruelty beyond belief. I'm glad he is locked up until he dies. What a dangerous man. 👹
The “best friend.” Wow.😮 And some wonder why I have trust issues.😞. Glad 48 Hours added this older Winger story to this Marathon. Very baffling, shocking, and revealing.
When I was 32 I was very sick and the Dr's gave my parents a zero percent chance of my survival. My body could not make oxygen and I was ventilated for 11 days. I am 66 now and the Dr's told my parents it was nothing they did. My son was 10, and I have thanked Him every day for another day he gave me to raise my child. I told a very religious friend that I searched everyday for what God saved me for. She told me, when God gives you a miracle, he doesn't expect anything from you. I was so relieved and was able to just appreciate my gift from God.
The "best friend" in the 3rd story has more on her consciousness. For her to be so broken up about the death of Donna that she "tried to unalive herself" 4×s and was hospitalized, there's more that she's hiding. But Mark is refusing to even admit his guilt so that secret will probably never come out. Also, he's clearly a liar cause he still swearing from prison that he had a "happy and perfect" marriage... yet he was sleeping with his wife's so-called bestie. Plus, the stupidity of the hitman attempt...? Obviously, he's an idiot, regardless of his previous career. 🙄
That man is horrible - killing his girlfriend and her cute dog like that and then sitting across from her sister at a deposition while she’s dying from cancer - disgusting
I enjoy 48 hours. However, it always amazes me when news media or any media are surprised that people under investigation do not want to talk to them. Anyone with a lick of sense, and certainly their lawyers, know better that to do so. I have no doubt that the very reporters who try it, if in that situation themselves, would never do it either. I understand why they try it, always looking for a scoop. But stop acting befuddled when it doesn't work.
Ugh, yes… I always try to skip that part because it makes me so uncomfortable. So much fake shock at these things that they certainly have a sense of by this point in their careers. It seems so unprofessional and disingenuous. These shows usually contain absurd disbelief and at the same time criticism at liars and people who fake and overdramatize things like 911 calls, and yet they are performing in ways that I can’t imagine come from a genuine place, and that makes me uncomfortable. I think some anchors/hosts do better than others… I miss Harold Dow, he seemed pretty genuine to me.
Same I wish they just left it out considering it didn’t add to anything in the case just shows how journalists/reporters/media love to hound anyone and everyone without a second thought if it gets them a story I wouldve been more interested if they showed more of the sister than that lying murderer
So, monica was devastated. Couldn't even talk for 4 days? We were taught in nursing school that oftentimes the people seen to be grieving the most around around a death are the ones with the most ambiguous feelings. I think she was faking it. Defense is doing some insane 😂gaslighting.
As someone who always sobs in response to anyone being born, dying , having a baby , graduating , Getting married I will be uncontrollably crying and seems to be genetic on my Irish side all the men in my family too just lability characteristic but YES performative grief is different which seems more the case here
I hope domestic violence victims watching this get encouragement to flee after seeing the outcome of Yvonne's relationship. Being punched in the eye and chocked by a killing machine must have been so painful. Her sister was a true warrior. May they rest in peace.
I am not even 2 min into this one and I am thinking, "Fabio sounds like a REAL cool dude.." and daughters look so sweet in photos--my heart aches for them. Mom is guilty as h#ll.
Michelle was a phenomenal woman to testify against that animal while she was suffering from cancer. He didn't get enough time. He should have received capital punishment.
I feel like they failed her terribly with that prison sentence. He should've gotten life and then some for the beatings, the dismemberment, the theft, the obstruction and the lying to authorities.
Mark winger is very arrogant. How could that woman have an affair when her best friend loved her so much. Sad how women betray each other for a wicked man
Poor families of victims… the third family of the murdered driver for no reason broke my heart, they buried him as a murderer and they were shamed over their grief and them knowing he did not do it
In the 2nd story, why did that Brian guy get only 27 years for killing, chopping up Yvonne and lying to the FBI? Can someone explain to me which crime qualifies for the life or death sentence?
Her Sister who got Justice at last, and passed away in cancer, some days after the court, can no rest in peace with the Sister who they found murderd R,I.P. Sisters.

I love defense attorney BS. If your husband dies suddenly and unexpectedly, no you don't immediately check the life insurance policy. Especially with a bank account like theirs. Paying your bills is the last thing on your mind.
This is what happens when people are not productive members of society. Too many with nothing to do, bored, becoming miserable. Needing someone to blame.
Monica Sementilli's trial was supposed to have started in April but was delayed AGAIN when the defendants notified the judge there was new evidence that needed review before the trial commenced. The judge said the trial schedule was full and he couldn't delay for the 30 days the defense requested. The trial is now further delayed until later in 2024.
This show does not state that Fabio left his first wife for Monica after working together and spending a lot of time with her. Once a cheater honey, always a cheater.

Schultz only told the truth because Winger ended the affair. She was not a good friend.
She was never a friend, but I agree. She only told the truth because he dumped her.
Yvonne is so lucky to have s family and sister like her. May them rest in peace. What a evil to do that to her
"The FBI interviewed him for four hours as he babysat his young daughter." BABYSAT?? Since when do we refer to parental care of a child as "babysitting". Of course the question is rhetorical, because if it was the mother at home with the child I'm betting 48 Hours wouldn't even think about saying, "While she babysat her young daughter".
That kind of language has been used before in other documentaries, and other people have made the same kind of objection you are making now.
is it called 48 hours because thats how long it takes to watch one episode because of all the adverts ?

Jail is not working for her. She looks awful, like someone who is in jail.

Defense attorneys disgust me. Sure, I agree people deserve a fair trial which includes a competent defense. But the things they come up with are ludicrous. They look incredibly foolish 🤦♀️
Most pencil pushers don’t have a lot of sense. Just book smarts and manipulative mind.
I agree Ms. Katie!
They really are the most despicable people.
Wow mark a pos father as much as he was a pos husband
Thank you for adding this. I was really wondering what happened!
As of June 2024, Monica Sementilli's trial has not started yet.
Thank you
I was looking for some information about that and found nothing. At leasr now I know that nothing has been done yet. Thank you, Stephanie.
“Fixated on her phone” is hardly a rare occurrence. Also, not uncommon at all to be watching your home security system either. Not sticking up for her, she’s most definitely guilty.
Cannot get enough of these 48 Hours episodes!! 😀💜

Second story…. To Beniger’s wife - wake up! He admitted to killing Yvonne- you are seriously waiting for him to get out of prison?! Do you have that low of self esteem.. wake the f up! Love Peter Van Sant btw….. he never gives up.
She’s definitely sleeping with another man. She’s staying with him so that she can be entitled to his military benefits.

Defense attorneys are just insane 🤣🤣🤣
Unfortunately they are just doing what they are paid to do even if they know the suspect is guilty they still have a job to do
That was my next observation. Defense attorneys are psychopaths.
@@kaitlynking3827that’s evil
@gasmith7486 how is that evil? Under the constitution, everyone is entitled to a defense. You do know that people who can't afford an attorney are appointed a defender by the state, right? Are saying that people should be found guilty (even if they aren't) just because someone of power says they are? Scary that we've had people fight for democracy and so many detest it. Wow
I may have read it wrong, but either I’m right or I’m on your side. Give me some time to put this together. And I will have a response.
? Normal? Most of the murders here are from people they are married to or dating 😂
You sound like me, girl. I raised 3 and always hoped for that too. Now here I am alone. I always wanted that but I feel lucky I didn't run into some sweet talker who would end up killing me or my children.

Who says "I'm not a wife anymore" right after their husband is murdered. Sounds like "I'm single now".
Right? So strange! I thought the same thing.
It’s not what you say, but how you say it.
Super odd thing to say. Most widows continue to wear their wedding rings and still consider themselves married until they adjust to the idea that their spouse is gone.
Right? I'm a widow now would've made more sense!
How shallow is that woman who opened this story It's not about how you look or how beautiful your home is etc it's about the state of mind, my son was gorgeous and everyone wanted to be a part of his life but what they didn't know nor wanted to know was just how disturbed his mind was.
I understand what you are conveying but don't forget this program is producex for the masses who generally speaking are shallow and materialistic
@2358H who disturbed here ?

Taking a case to trial comes with the risk of an acquittal. At least with a plea deal, he will serve time.
Beyond crazy. All she had to do was to seek a divorce and she would have free to live with who ever she wants with a multi million dollar settlement without anyone losing their life
Hi
I understand how you feel.
Sometimes life is more complicated.
I am married to a narcissist sociopath. I stayed in the marriage because if I divorced him it would mean I would have no control over who was in my children’s lives.
We are now informally separated but I waited until the children were grown. But I do understand how you feel
Girl, just in case you are tempted, its not worth it. Ok?@@shelteredsparrow2736
The FBI officers were awesome. They saw how much she missed her sister and stood by her till the end.
I have 2 ex husbands and wouldn't have killed either even if I knew I could get away with it. As acrimonious as the divorces were I can't imagine doing such a thing. What the hell is wrong with these people!
You probably had two broke ex-husbands.
26 years for chopping up a human being after you've murdered them?😮😮😮
"Justice".
God is all made up fiction. Grow up ffs.
Cars and money and a maid is considered "having it all" 😂😂
The "best friend" in the 3rd story has more on her consciousness. 🙄
that woman is soooooo wrong …. someone giving the convicted killer the code to enter her home is big
saying that the country is an ugly & dangerous place wasn't nice of them. It was BRIAN who is ugly. Not the country. Glad he got locked up.
It’s perfect actually. It’s the intrusion into their personal space that widens the cloud of the suspicion for the on lookers. Pressure bursts pipes.

Did they ever convict him for murdering the poor man. Think I missed that.
Wow, imagine killing loved ones and then going about your merry way to shop or play golf...that's cold
