Ehhh this is genuinely not criminal when it's against white people. It happens at literally every company and people are VERY explicit about not hiring a candidate "because they're white". The only reason there are still "black" people in america is because of segregation (legal and self-imposed), otherwise we would have intermingled and the genome would have become homogenized, as it is in most other countries, barring periods of mass immigration. A lot of "white" people in america have an astonishing number of African ancestors these days as it is.

As a young writer myself, I can’t understand why people think it’s so hard to write diverse characters that people don’t hate. Literally just write a good character, with flaws, likability, strengths, weaknesses, etc who so happens to be whatever race or sexuality etc. it’s baffling to me that people are designing such minute characteristics as the forefront and then getting surprised when the actual substance of the character/story is ass.
I myself have written a variety of characters with all kinds of backgrounds and interests, but never once did I need to sacrifice the quality of the character or story to do it. It’s as simple as making a cool but pretty dumb knight guy for example, but then as he gets developed, it’s subtly hinted he’s gay, through a small story detail, and that’s it. No need for that small characteristic to take over the character, especially since the story does not pivot in anyone’s sexuality
You can have a dice as a tool too. There are books for dnd solo games... I mean, you don't have to play the game, but use it as some sort of map to see with your mind's eye.
