    I enjoyed this video because you seem more relatable than many of the other "big" channels. At 20:56 you said "is it perfect? no way!" - I dig that. Pan made a video a few months ago & he suggested we should stop chasing "perfect". Many of these videos have us brainwashed to think our paint should looks flawless all the time and that simply isn't reasonable for a daily driven ride. The results we get may not look perfect up close & under a light but from a few feet away it can look stunning! And thats really all that matters. cheers

    3D One is my go to at work, and in my own business.
    I use the Uro-Fiber or Uro-Tech Coarse Blue foam for cutting, and the Yellow to finish polish with. Nine out of ten times it works perfectly.
    At work I'll use AAT501 when the paint is harder, and AAT502 when ONE isn't finishing down like I want, which has so far only been one car out of dozens.
    The home based biz I use the ACA line to compliment 3D ONE.
    Overall I've been very, VERY impressed with 3D's abrasive offerings. They were what I always wanted in a polish and compound. They work like polishes, and don't like to dust. Extreme cut availability, and show car gloss polishing...

    • @PapaSmurf918Detail
      @PapaSmurf918Detail  4 роки тому

      That is great information and I appreciate you sharing that! I need to get into more of the 3d abrasive lineup for SURE! 3d one is so versatile I have been loving it man! • @danlc95
      @danlc95 4 роки тому +1

      @@PapaSmurf918Detail - No problem!
      The Uro-Tech are very similar to the Rupes Foam formulas. The yellow feels a tad more "spongy", but the white feels finer and softer. The maroon is similar to green, but doesn't deteriorate like the green. Blue coarse is almost identical, and their new dark blue (sits between the yelllo and maroon) is nothing like any of the Rupes pads.
      What's nice about 3D is that you can go to Autoality and find their products in the 8oz trial size. I bought all of them because I carry the bottle around the vehicle with me as I work. I just pour product out of the 32oz into those bottles as needed.
      Great channel for sure! You, like Jon (Forensic), Brian (Apex), and Hawk Pro have great attitudes and personalities.

Softer clear which Hondas generally have will typically leave a haze as in will look a little cloudy. Did you use the Uro fiber 50/50 pad on the G8 to work on that scuff? I figured I would use the G8 seeing as how I am only going to try to tackle the scuff mark for now. Figured I would use the Shiney's cutting polish followed by Zymol cleaner wax. The only other pad that I have for the G8 is a Lake Country polishing pad. I blow out my pads after every pass I make. And once one starts getting matted or full I'll clean it, blow it out, and let it dry and grab my 2nd one👍. Would you recommend me to go with Uro 50/50 5" to cut and then Rupes white or yellow pad to finish? This is a white 2014 Accord Coupe with moderate swirls. Never been polished before. Also how many pads do you think I need for the entire car? Would 1 cutting pad and 1 finishing pad be fine?

      Hey Brindan! Sorry I was mid reply and got a phone call hahaha. So if the car has never been polished on I'd say the urofiber 50/50 would be a great choice however I'd still try a softer approach first just to see how the clear reacts... I've done a 2014 blue accord on my channel with a orange foam pad from griots and correcting cream and it worked great... so you never know, you could have some soft clear and no need to cut with urofiber if not needed👍 if you try a softer approach and your defect removal is not what you desire then bump up to the urofiber and test a section.. if that works stick to it✊ as far as following it up a white or yellow rupes pad would work just fine. Probably the yellow pad since I only used the white cause it was black paint.. black paint shows everything! Haha! It's all about trial at first to see what working for ya man! As far as pads, you will need at least 2.. I use 2 some use 5... but cleaning the pads after each pass is key , blow out with compressed air and it will keep the pad from clogging and performance will be more consistent.. especially with the urofiber pads. The matt down and get clogged very easy. After a a few panels I'll remove and clean a pad set to dry and grab a fresh one. But the time I'm ready to clean that pad the 1st will be dry... I do this and its works for me👌 let me know if you have any other questions! Moderate swirls you may find clean up with a yellow rupes pad and 3d one! 3d one has a long cycle time so work it through well, get that cycle time through and it will do great🤝

      PapaSmurf918, thanks for the reply! And I already have the hybrid solutions line, it works well, I just wanted to try something different on my show truck. Thinking maybe Fusso and King of gloss, or Jescar and Collinite.

    Dear Sir,
    Have you thought about CONDENSING your content, to 10 minutes?
    30 minutes is overkill. Seriously.
    I would subscribe & recommend, but so many of us, don't have 30 minute luxuries, especially for UA-cam. It's called PRIORITIES.
    Best wishes.

      Well, yes... of course I have. But there just isn't any way possible I can share my experience in a 10min video. I understand not many people have time to spare and that's fine. Some videos, may be able too... updates and what not. But when doing a full detail.. polishing...coating. there is tons of information that I like to get out for those wanting to learn... not just to kill time watching a video. All in all... those who watch. Will watch.. Best wishes to you as well. Thanks for watching!

    what's the point of using 3d one if I have to follow it up with a polishing pad? was about to try a bottle too

    • @PapaSmurf918Detail
      @PapaSmurf918Detail  4 роки тому +1

      3d one can be used as a cutting compound and then a finish polish.. for technically a 2 step but using 1 liquid. If you wanna cut throw a microfiber pad on. You wanna do a polish that finishes well slap on a polish or finish pad. Also, on black paint using a uro pad or a MF pad you will get haze.. to remove that haze left by the cutting stage you would then grab your finish polish ( in this case you don't need to grab one cause 3d one IS your finisher ) and finish out to remove the haze and the micro marring that may have occurred. Also, it's very noticeable on black paint so a finisher is needed. 👍🏻

I hold the trigger down for 1-2 minutes before turning it on. If there are air pockets even just little ones can burn up the motor.

      No problem! If you are just starting id stick to foam pads until you get a feel for it. 3d One is a good starting product. Maybe a medium cut foam pad and a finishing foam pad. 3d one is pad dependent aswell. Keep that in mind👍 with a medium cut pad will yield great Results. Also, the BOSS creams are VERY good for a beginner as well.

      @@JoelNeezy Don't apologize my friend! I once had questions and had nobody to answer. I started my channel to help encourage those who want to start 👍
      For a 2 step yes, if you have a pad set. There should be a medium cut pad. So in the middle as far as aggression. However depending on how bad the paint is you always want to start the least aggressive method first. This will help preserve the clear coat. As in you don't wanna cut deep right off bat if you don't need too. 👍 clear is Very very thin and taking the least off you can while achieving good results is whT your after. Start with a light polish pad and a polish do a few passes and check your work. If you are happy with the amount of defect removal then stick to that pad and polish. If not then step up to a little more aggressive pad and compound.. 👍
      Also, be sure to join my Livestreams on Sundays man. It's a great opportunity to pick my brain and ask all the questions you need. Plus, plenty of knowledge in the chats as well! If I can't answer someone in there should be able too✊✊
