Their "logical song" is literally timeless and is a MUST react level song. Heck, it's a MUST listen to song IMO. Everyone should hear it at least once.
Supertramp is a great English rock band formed in 1969. They had so many hit songs in the 70's-80's such as "Dreamer", "Give A Little Bit", "The Logical Song", "Breakfast In America", "Rudy", "Take The Long Way Home", "School", "It's Raining Again", "Bloody Well Right", "My Kind Of Lady", "Cannonball", "I'm Beggin' You", "You Win, I Lose" etc.
"The Logical Song" has always been my favorite of theirs, so that is my suggestion. As other people have previously commented, they have a lot of great songs. Enjoy the Supertramp journey, they're a great band.
O simplemente una vida en movimiento, por propia elección, pero la canción es bonita y me trae unos recuerdos preciosos, ir de acampada con la familia al medio del monte jajaja, cuando la vida era más sencilla, saludos
The best thing about music from the past eras....you can't expect to be blown away right off the bat. You have to let the song build! If you wait it out and have patience, you will be rewarded!!!
It's actually much deeper than a carefree romp through one-night-stands. It's a very poignant look at the life of a touring musician, going from town to town, meeting someone new and trying to justify it in his own mind. There's an obscure Pink Floyd song called Summer of 68, which explores this same subject matter, with that unique Floydian twist.
I agree, I think it's about life as a musician and how being out on the road constantly is too difficult for relationships and he's come to grips with that lifestyle.
Supertramp were a progressive rock band formed in London in 1970. They had two vocalists (Rick Davies and the higher pitched Roger Hodgson). Along with the progressive sound, many of their songs had a sort of jazz infusion. It's a deep rabbit hole worth your time.
'Logical song' is a must, an all time masterpiece. Superb musicians with a unique sound and fantastic catalogue of work. I think you'll enjoy exploring more.
One of my top 5 favorite bands! They are definitely worth diving into! "Bloody Well Right" and "School" are two of my favorites. Would love for you to keep going with Supertramp! Thanks for a great reaction! ✌💙✌
My fave, and a request would be School, from their first album, Crime of the Century. It has a touch of a Pink Floyd sound. A masterpiece! The Logical song is a favourite too. Thanks for reviewing Supertramp, they are top tier.
I see you mention"the incredible music" of Supertramp...you got that right in spades. These guys were top talents at the very top of their game. They walk shoulder to shoulder with Led Zeppelin, The Who, The Beatles, Steely Dan, any band you choose, Supertramp is their equal in talent, song writing, production values, and technical ability. "School," "Bloody Well Right," "Dreamer," "Rudy," "Crime of the Century," "Child of Vision (live)"...actually, you can't really miss with pretty much any song from their 3rd album (Crime of the Century) and afterwards.
Supertramp are a unique Band which started up in 1969. Their first big album was ‘ Crime of the Century’ in 1974. Their live in Paris double CD and DVD is a brilliant set!
Supertramp is so underrated in my opinion, not nearly enough people of our generation know these gems and BOY I just cannot get enough of them. Pretty much every single song on "Breakfast In America" is a absolute hit.
The Logical Song is my favorite song by Supertramp. I remember the first time I heard it on the radio and how it struck me. I've been a fan ever since.
Supertramp Bloody Well Right- Do the studio version. It starts out with co-founder Rick Davies improvising on the keyboard a lot better than the live version IMO.
Sam's mum has good taste. Edit: They are currently on tour, BTW they took their name from a book called 'The Autobiography of a Super-Tramp', I guess they thought it was catchy and different and as we are talking about it over fifty years later, they were correct.
If you want to hear one of 70s best albums. check out Crime of the Century. It is not a concept album said Supertramp but for me it is, following Rudy from childhood in school to his mid 20s
Supertramp was such a great band!! Fantastically talented, really innovative and a great door through the portals of progressive rock. Roger Hodgson and Rick Davies are both so talented, but so too Dougie Thomspon, Anthony Helliwell on his lovely sax, and Bob Siebenberg. Great you are reacting to this!! Try listening to the Crime of The Century album! The title song.., and try "School", and "Hide in your shell".... "Even in the quietest moments"..., so much great stuff.
They actually hit the big time in the rest of the western world 3 albums before this but did not break in the states until Breakfast in America……… they are essentially a progressive rock band based around keys and woodwind and sax sounds and the two writers Rodger Hodgson and Rick Davies who wrote and performed lead vocals on their own songs within a group format. For the point where they really made people sit up and notice check out ‘School’ from the 1974 album Crime of the Century
Love Supertramp. Very deep rabbit hole to leap down. So many hits and lots of their songs were, and still are, on the radio. Just an FYI, Rudy the song is wonderful but is on Crime of the Century which is a concept album, a story about a lad named Rudy. The album is meant to be heard in it's entirety for best effect. Just a thought.

Supertramp has always delivered easy to digest songs and mostly uplifting once. I love their unique sound.
Supertramp is a tremendous band. Montreal, where I grew up, was Supertramp central. We couldn't get enough, and they kept coming back. Piano at the front gave them a unique sound for a full rock band. The Crime album hit like a ton of bricks, not a weak song on the album. Their albums rarely disappointed. They also put out some truly classic tracks such as The Logical Song, Even In the Quietest Moments and Fool's Overture (containing a piece of musical interlude you can't help but have heard, but didn't know where it originated)
Hi guys! Hope you are well :) You should check out their earlier songs "School" & "Bloody Well Right" on the "Crime of the Century" album. I think you'll enjoy them. ✌️ ☮️ 🇺🇸🎶🎵🎸
Supertramp was my first favorite band when I was young in the late '70s. They had two lead singers, who each sang lead on their own songs and backup on the other's songs. This was a Rick Davies song; Roger Hodgson sang the falsetto chorus.
Another one of my favorite Bands that I've seen many times. They have a lot of great tunes you should check out. Two bangers I'll suggest are 'Lady' and 'Bloody Well Right'. Cheers.
I grew up in northern NY. We listened to a FM station out of Ottawa. They did a countdown at the end of 1979 based on voting from their base of the top 100 albums of the 70’s. Supertramp’s album Crime of the Century came in at number 1.
I always loved how you're almost 2 minutes into the song with no bass line to speak of and then it comes in hard with a throbbing bass and drum riff. 3:20
He’s a musician guys , they tend to be handed the option of an evening with a lovely lady during there tour without much commitment after that. It’s not a new phenomenon, that’s been going on for generations.
They have 3 great studio albums that are fantastic, every song a masterpiece, the others not so much so. They are (in order of creation): Crime of the Century, Even in the Quietest Moments, and Breakfast in America (Which is their biggest seller). their biggest earning indiviual song is the Logical Song.
Anything from the Crime of the Century or Breafast in America albums is total gems. Supertramp were musical genius. Way Ahmad of their time. Rudy, Take the long way home, Fool's Overture, Logical song, School, Lord is it mine, are among the many that are a Must Hear. (Fool's Overture) is a master piece.
When they first came out I'd never heard of them, but I didn't know much about music either. So, when I saw the record album cover for "Crime Of The Century" and then listened to the songs, they captured my heart. Hope you get to enjoy more of their music.
Supertramp is incredible... "THE MEANING" is one of the most beautiful and spiritual songs around... Other great songs: "CRIME OF THE CENTURY," "SOAPBOX OPERA," "GIVE A LITTLE BIT," "SCHOOL," "RUDY," and "FOOL'S OVERTURE" are all amazing songs.
Love this song, particularly the lines And I will go on shining Shining like brand new I'll never look behind me My troubles will be few Breakfast in America is one of those albums that doesn't really have a bad track on it. And the cover art is exceptional.
What blew me away when I saw this band was how much they sounded like they did on record. I don't know how much technology existed then like auto tune, even so that's from studio music. Like Rush & Zeppelin no warm up act needed. Great show!!!
"Take The Long Way Home" is sort of the response to this song. The Breakfast in America album can be read as a debate between the two lead vocalists. It's a great album.
One of my favorite bands growing up. Your Mom has good taste. The Logical Song is epic. They had quite a unique sound back in the day. They loved throwing uncommon instruments into their music and one offs like finger snaps, hand claps, whistles, etc.
These guys were huge in the late 70s and early 80s before they broke up one the first concerts I went to as a 12 year old in 1979 went and seen them with a older cousin and his girlfriend at the time.
Probably the simplest track from Supertramp - musically brilliant and diverse, they managed to be both 'progressive' and 'commercial' - not a marriage made in heaven really, as it was/is a contradiction in terms, but they were unique in the early 70's, because they managed to be both accessible and unpredictable. Try 'The Logical Song' and 'Breakfast in America' for a couple more of their hits. Great reaction btw ty
By 1979, they had perfected a more Progressive Rock/Sophisti-Art Pop sound that was more commercially viable than their early stuff. As you said, it's not an easy gap to bridge, but few bands did it better than Supertramp.
I was *One of ONLY Twelve* attending their 1977 Memorial Arena, Victoria, BC, Canada *Even In the Quietest Moments* Tour. Best Live Sound and Performance from *The Most Professional Band* The 12 of us blown-away by their entire setlist, plus an encore of Six Unreleased Songs from *Breakfast in America* album. Rare that Live Concerts matches Studio Recordings High Fidelity Quality Sound.
hello youngins.....great to see you doing some supertramp, in my opinion the entire breakfast album is well worth your listen as well as the crime of the century album crisis what crisis and even in the quetest moments albums are all good as well in my opinion, supertramps songs will always take you on a journy in a creative way, great pick you two.....
Their "logical song" is literally timeless and is a MUST react level song. Heck, it's a MUST listen to song IMO. Everyone should hear it at least once.
We have a request to that one next (live) - should be up next week!
This particular song is great.
like this more than logical song
The sound effect from the Mattel handheld football game is heard on "The Logical Song."
Logical song is a must ????????????
Supertramp is a great English rock band formed in 1969. They had so many hit songs in the 70's-80's such as "Dreamer", "Give A Little Bit", "The Logical Song", "Breakfast In America", "Rudy", "Take The Long Way Home", "School", "It's Raining Again", "Bloody Well Right", "My Kind Of Lady", "Cannonball", "I'm Beggin' You", "You Win, I Lose" etc.
The "Breakfast in America" album is one of those that every song is good. You can listen to it over and over and not get tired of it.
Same with "Crime of the Century"
Absolutely.
Phil, the 70's were full of one night stands!! It was the time of Free Love!! We felt no shame at all!
Supertramp is one of those bands that will last for the next 50 years.
Best outro ever!
Roger Hodgson's guitar solo at the end of the song is extraordinary.
Supertramp was thereal deal. SO many excellent songs. Long Way Home is my personal fav. 🙂
Oh god I love long way home!
“Take the Long Way Home” is a MUST … I hope yall will react to that. 🙏😊
Extremely tight performance
That outro was amazing!🔥💥🤗💯❤️✌️
"The Logical Song" has always been my favorite of theirs, so that is my suggestion. As other people have previously commented, they have a lot of great songs. Enjoy the Supertramp journey, they're a great band.
this song describes the life of young musicians that spend their time on the roads .
O simplemente una vida en movimiento, por propia elección, pero la canción es bonita y me trae unos recuerdos preciosos, ir de acampada con la familia al medio del monte jajaja, cuando la vida era más sencilla, saludos
"The Logical Song" is another great Supertramp song.
Supertramp is AWESOME!!!!!!!!! So much great music!! 😊😊❤
I fell in love with them in 1977 with the song You Bloody Well Right.
Again, just scratching the surface......
Unfortunately. 😏😏
Every Supertramp song is a musical journey.
I lose myself everyday with a song from supertramp..it makes me feel compassion and empathy & ❤️
Insane base lines. This band
This album came out and spent like 15 weeks at number one. Music was so well produced back then,.
So glad you are checking out Supertramp, they were so talented " The Logical Song " is amazing!!!!! A must
Oh yes! The Live in Paris is awsome!
The best thing about music from the past eras....you can't expect to be blown away right off the bat. You have to let the song build! If you wait it out and have patience, you will be rewarded!!!
Supertramp and Steely Dan both play some of the most interesting music I have heard.
Some more supertramp would be greatly appreciated.

@@rickwelch8464 Yeah, that's kind of where I was going. The rock and roll "lifestyle". haha
Well stated as I have heard that about this tune before!
Yeah, I always got the vibe that he is trying to convince himself that he is carefree.
Dig deeper into the catalog. Plenty of great stuff to choose from!
Supettamp and ELO are extremely layered .
Really beautiful
Supertramp were a progressive rock band formed in London in 1970. They had two vocalists (Rick Davies and the higher pitched Roger Hodgson). Along with the progressive sound, many of their songs had a sort of jazz infusion. It's a deep rabbit hole worth your time.
Love Supertramp, your mama has great taste! This is one of their best songs and "The Logical Song."
'Logical song' is a must, an all time masterpiece. Superb musicians with a unique sound and fantastic catalogue of work. I think you'll enjoy exploring more.
Supertramp forever awesome
Yes definitely get into more Supertramp! The Logical Song would be a great song to check out next.
Love this band so many great songs and there were unique for their time.
One of my top 5 favorite bands! They are definitely worth diving into! "Bloody Well Right" and "School" are two of my favorites. Would love for you to keep going with Supertramp! Thanks for a great reaction! ✌💙✌

Supertramp has been my favorite group since the mid seventies. I suggest Rudy, The Logical Song, Fool's Overture, and Even in the Quietest Moments.
Breakfast in America is a great album." The Logical Song" is another favorite. Thanks, love Super Tramp.
The Logical Song is my favorite song by Supertramp. I remember the first time I heard it on the radio and how it struck me. I've been a fan ever since.
Bisogna conoscere bene i supertramp hanno canzoni fantastici non solo Breakfast in America . 👏❤️
I had this album in high school, I loved it , and played it so much, it warped!!!
"Child of vision" is amazing. Highly recommanded.
Supertramp Bloody Well Right- Do the studio version. It starts out with co-founder Rick Davies improvising on the keyboard a lot better than the live version IMO.

"Longway Home".!!!!
My favorite song from this band. The guitar solo at the end is out of this world. Unfortunately, the radio stations at the time always fadet it out.
If you want to hear one of 70s best albums. check out Crime of the Century. It is not a concept album said Supertramp but for me it is, following Rudy from childhood in school to his mid 20s

I have heard that some people say that the Goodbye Mary Goodbye Jane is in reference to stopping smoking pot.
Yet the other lyrics suggest otherwise lol
Hi guys! Hope you are well :) You should check out their earlier songs "School" & "Bloody Well Right" on the "Crime of the Century" album. I think you'll enjoy them. ✌️ ☮️ 🇺🇸🎶🎵🎸
Absolute masterpiece
Sam, I saw Supertramp three times and was always a great show. Your mom has good taste.
The album even in the quietest moments I think is their best
Supertramp was my first favorite band when I was young in the late '70s. They had two lead singers, who each sang lead on their own songs and backup on the other's songs. This was a Rick Davies song; Roger Hodgson sang the falsetto chorus.

Supertramp co-founded by Rick Davies and Roger Hodgson. Goodbye Stranger is Rick lead vocal and playing keyboard and Roger on guitar.
Supertramp -- super good band. Tons of good songs. The outro on this one is outstanding. Another great reaction, guys.
Love them! You need to react to "Take the Long Way Home", "Give A Little Bit", or "The Logical Song"!
"Take The Long Way Home" is sort of the response to this song. The Breakfast in America album can be read as a debate between the two lead vocalists. It's a great album.
