    Red meat has made up the majority of my diet for over 15 years. My poor indoctrinated sister has a dietetics degree from Tufts and has been vegetarian most of her life.. We argued about this stuff when I first did low carb 15 years ago and have discussed it occasionally since, but have largely agreed to disagree. Well the results are in.... She has had a partial thyroidectomy due to cancer and her IBS has gotten increasingly severe along with growing fatigue, joint issues, deteriorating vision, etc. I came from chronic fatigue and am still about as strong and lean as I have ever been with no diagnosable health maladies. In fact I am the only one in my family who has not had cancer (knock on wood) and my father has been obese for the last 10 years with the related blood pressure and prediabetes issues. All this despite me being a heavy drinker(which I do not condone), I am physically doing better than everyone I have grown up with. I don't know how many times I can tell people red meat is the ultimate food.

That swim upstream in the mainstream medical establishment certainly will not be easy, and perhaps believing in these things will make the journey harder. Low Carb USA , Low Carb Down Under, and others are doing God's work over here - these channels are the entire reason I know what I know and work with who I work with today concerning therapeutic use of ketogenic diets. Im 40 I had moderate to severe eczema almost my whole life starting from a teenager then went pure carnivore November of 2022 and it took about 4.5 weeks for it all to go away. I can testify on numerous other benefits like energy levels, digestion, stress, but the eczema and hair regrowth on my head is the only physical proof I have to offer to my family and friends.

      @LincolnHawk87 4 місяці тому +3

      @@DaKeezl yes I had dairy and coffee before carnivore. I should note I’m not on the (lion diet) I still consume both and dairy as half and half with coffee although my desire for coffee is more of a social action now because my energy level is so high already on carnivore. I’m not saying dairy wasn’t the cause of my eczema cause I don’t know, but even if it wasn’t I still have too many benefits of the carnivore diet to go back and what little dairy I consume now with a cup or two of coffee a month doesn’t have any effect.

    • @DaKeezl
      @DaKeezl 4 місяці тому +1

      @@LincolnHawk87 thx. So you‘re not consuming it daily. That was my true question tbh. All the best

    • @rawmilkmike
      @rawmilkmike 3 місяці тому

      @DaKeezl Dairy is not specific enough. Homogenized the skim milk is awful. Cheese is easily adulterated. Cream cheese and sour cream might be OK, but butter is a super food. Even the stuff you get at the grocery store. If you have access to milk straight from the cow, that's a totally different story.
      A lot of people do OK on coffee. But if you want to feel optimal, don't do it. Or at least switch to decaf. Caffeine decreases REM sleep. That makes you tired, anxious, and cranky.
      PS, what kind of dairy do you consume? Before going low-carb, I had my dairy over corn flakes. Or as a chocolate malt. I never drank milk with steak or with a hamburger.
      On keto or carnivore, there should be no problem with butter on your steak or cheese on your hamburger. Or possibly some cream sauce.

    Here is something I learned about LDL cholesterol which shows it is actually "good" and not "bad".
    I’ve recently learned that cholesterol is produced by the liver, and that HDL functions as a “carrier” and LDL functions as a “repairer/rebuilder” and is actually “good” and not “bad”. The reason that LDL has been mislabeled as “bad” is because it has erroneously been identified as a ‘cause’ of cardiovascular disease. One possible reason for this “error” is that LDL is actually a “confounding variable” rather than an actual “significant variable” in explaining cardiovascular disease. At “most” there is a “relationship” between LDL and cardiovascular disease, but it is NOT a “root cause”. Secondly, whoever concluded that LDL is a source “cause” did not dig deep enough with “root cause analysis”. If they had asked, “why does LDL “build up” on artery walls”, that would have led to the realization that the arteries are highly damaged (“holes” in the lining) and need to be repaired and rebuilt. The liver then produces and releases LDL to repair/rebuild the walls and builds up on the walls through time. So, ask why are the “walls” damaged? It’s because, over time, toxins (in air, in water, in the land, in processed food, in processed beverages, in medication, in household chemicals, … etc.) damage the endothelium cells that line the arteries. So this deteriorates the lining creating “holes” that need to be “plugged”. Hence, the liver then produces and releases LDL to repair/rebuild the walls.
    So, the more appropriate solution to be applied here is NOT to reduce the level of LDL via medication, but rather to minimize one’s “exposure” to all types of toxins as much as one can and to nutriate and “cleanse” the body sufficiently to “fight” and get rid of toxins. Go after the root cause(s) and not the “confounding variable”.
    Even with supposed “valid data”, it is still possible to come to incorrect conclusions that lead to serious problematic “solutions”. With the erroneous conclusion that LDL is “bad”, various medications have been developed to lower LDL levels. These medications have been apparently successful at lowering LDL levels, but, … have introduced numerous serious side effects such as, Alzheimer’s, dementia, memory loss, muscle wasting, breast cancer ... etc. (e.g. "Lipitor: Thief of Memory", by Dr. Duane Graveline). Our brain actually needs cholesterol/fat!

    Remember the answer was shown to us about 1971 in a movie called Soylent Green w/ hollywood actor C. Heston. Dig this I saw it at a theater matinee the day it was released and drove from the movie directly to my work in Chrysler Central engineering. The funny thing was, I was working on a development of this new gadget called a catalytic converter and my work order asked me to remove this catalyst and install a different catalyst and I pulled the pipe off the end of the catalyst in the inside of the pipe was lime green. That really blew my mind and further investigation showed that that catalytic converter was developing ammonia, which is what killed all the trees in the movie. There’s a lot more to that story. Oh Chrysler was an American car co.

Have lost 30lbs as of today, inflammation almost totally gone, snoring disappeared, and i wake up rested like clockwork at 5am! No cravings to eat things others are eating around me. Eggs bacon sausage and or steak and eggs for bfast, Who would not live that! The odd thing is that wife and I have lost our taste for chicken so we still eat it 2x per month but only because i thought variety was necessary. But we feel best and satiated with a super fatty ribeye! So now researching cholesterol to be at ease that even though it may be high, haven't measured yet, there is NO WAY we will take any drugs to lower it. We feel amazing at 57, honestly I feel 45! You likely lost your taste for chicken because aside from their skins, chicken is relatively low in fat…and fat is the sole source of fuel when you are eating zero carb like on carnivore.
      And we shouldn’t be eating chicken anyway, since most chicken sold in the America are factory raised and are very high in inflammatory Omega-6 and linoleic acid.

You will be amazed at how good you feel!! I do more of the carnivore “lion diet” with remanent animal meat- beef top notch! I am 1 year, 1 month, and 3 weeks in on zero plant carnivore lifestyle. "Fiber is irritative."
      When I was diagnosed with IBS, the first question in my simple mind was, "So what is irritating it? What is the irritant?" Seemed most likely to me that it would have been something I had been eating.
      When I asked my primary MD, he shrugged, "We don't know." (Seemed odd to me how he used the plural "we" rather than "I".) Same exact response from my gastroenterologist (in a separate visit). Meanwhile, neither hesitated to recommend, with great confidence, that I needed to add MORE FIBER to my diet, drink more water, and get more exercise, when neither had any idea how much of those three things I was already getting (which was way more than the average person). That is what their "cook book" told them the recipe was to treat IBS -- along with them performing a colonoscopy and prescribing several drugs. And me coming back repeatedly for follow up visits.

    Grass-fed meat does make a difference. Grass-fed meat has more omega-3 and less Omega 6. It also makes a difference to the animals. The horrific cruelty with which animals are treated in CAFOs should be something no one tolerates. If it is possible to do so, buy meat that is pasture-raised, grass-fed, allowed to graze and live a normal life. The companies manufacturing what people refer to as conventional or cheap forms of meat don't care about your health all they care about is their profit.

      That “cruelty” argument is pretty bloody stupid.
      Unstressed, healthy, contented animals grow faster , produce more and taste better. In other words, treating animals well is MORE PROFITABLE.
      Cows are not humans in fur coats. They don’t care about abstract concepts like “freedom” . Their primary concerns are predators, food, water and shelter. Farmers ensure safety from predators, while providing all the rests.
      All my animals are on pasture right now. I think they taste better for it, but I’m not going to diss other parts of the industry for no good reason. You eat what you want, and what you can afford.

      @@marciamakoviecki3295 that is unfortunately not true. CAFOs (concentrated animal feeding operations) are used to raise meat cheaply. It is bad for the environment, horrible for the animals and the resulting meat is not healthy.

    Some people's cholesterol goes up because you are still functionally deficient in vitamin B1.
    B1 is necessary to get all energy into the cells. Fats sugars and proteins.
    Red meat is not high in B1.
    You need therapeutic doses of B1 to overcome the deficiency so that your cells can better utilize fat/cholesterol.
    Your body is most likely increasing cholesterol in an attempt to get it into the cells.
    Supplement with B1.
    My husband's doctor no longer pushes statins because B1 has lowered his cholesterol to perfect levels. He modestly cut carbs, took benfotiamine (fat soluble form of B1) and no longer is on any diabetic meds or insulin.
    I didn't expect for thiamine to correct his high cholesterol but it also did so.

    21:19 Podiatry and wound care specialism is big, big money these days. There's tons of foot dr. videos on YT showing rotten feet with black toes ready to come off. Or some that have already lost their toes and still go back with more sores. It's truly disgusting and sad because it's all avoidable.

    I am quite healthy, very active and fit person but I have tried keto in the past which eliminated my lactose intolerance and opened up the idea to these kinds of diets. I would like to try this for 90 days to see how it affects me.

    23:00...Cholesterol; I have always had High LDL, I obeyed the Dr's and didn't eat Butter, egg yolks, or bacon for several years.
    Then I did Keto and 5mo later my LDL was down 30pts! HDL was up 10pts. Sadly, after 18mo Keto, I admit I 'fell of the wagon' gained back the weight and plus some. LDL back up again. Felt terrible physically & emotionally! NOW, I have been on "Ketovore" for only 5 days and already lost a few lbs, feel no arthritis aches (even tho its raining), never hungry and I am climbing the walls with energy. Will move more towards Carnivore as I learn. 🎉

    I always feel more human when I’m days in on only animal meat, eggs, salt & water.. once I fall off the train and eat processed foods I go back into feeling like pure crap. Animal meat & fat is FOR US.

    Before I went on to the zero carb diet I suffered from chronic constipation and hemorrhoids
    When I passed wind it would make a really high-pitched squeaky sound which suggested to me that it was having to squish past the blocked bowel movement
    When this happened in public people would look around to see what the noise was and so I pretended to not know the origin either
    Now that I am on zero carbs I have hardly any gas and when I do it is a normal fart and nice and puffy

    What I have learned, as I am like nigh 2 weeks in on the carnivore diet, is don't google search carnivore diet. The smeer campaign is real. Already, my digestion is no longer exploding. My wife is the one driving the diet change, and I am slow to learn, and I am joining her to support her, but I am already noticing benefits. This is a great encouraging presentation, as after some google searching last night, I was concerned re no veggies and should I do Keto instead? But after this, I think I am good to stay the course, and give it way more time.

    Thanks for your video Dr Shawn fantastic video. Does fish, seafood,cheese and butter are ok in carnivore regime? What about olive oil avocado and leafy greens?

      Depends on what you want to do! Fish seafood and butter are absolutely fine by any "carnivore standart". Cheese has some people gain weight (milk as well) - while I throw them both in the mix. Olive oil is better than any other plant oil - but lard or suet is better. Avocado and leafy greens.... some consider them beneficial (like Dr Sten Ekberg I believe) most don't eat them when they are "strict carnivore" ... but it's not a religion - noone takes your carnivore membership card if you eat a salad or some spinach occasionally (which I do 2-3 times a year).
