My good man, I cannot emphasize enough how this tutorial saved my life tonight. The directions were useless. Thank you from the bottom of my heart. Our ball python, Sunny, thanks you as well.
Hey Steve thank you so much for this very easy and informative video just got mine yesterday and I felt like the instructions were too confusing and I can see I wasn't alone!😂 So you know 2 yes after they haven't fixed this instructions. 🤦🏻😂
At least your instructions were in English! Thanks for the vid. It really helped. Using it on an incubator so I don’t really need the 2nd timer function but now I understand what the other set points were for. Thanks again.
You are right the factory instructions are terrible. I wanted the heating and cooling but ordered the wrong one. My bad. Thanks for sorting these instructions out
I've got 5 university degrees including a PhD and I couldn't understand those horribly written instructions either. I'm sure they were written by someone who doesn't speak English and just relied on Google translate. Thanks for the video to help clarify things!
Man. I'm watching this video and I understand exactly what buddy is saying, I'm just totally blown away that they think this is in any way understandable from these instructions. I don't have any degrees but Im a natural when it comes to this stuff normally LOL I am so glad I found this video, it's about to start getting real hot here and my green house seriously needs an automatic temperature controller with the exhaust fans 🤣
@@fishaccordingtostevedotnetat least help me which model 306 or 308 is best suitable for a person living in a hotter region where summers last till November and i want to use it for chicks brooding. Help please
@gandharaorganicfoods either model should work for you but in a hotter climate I would use the 308 as it has the ability to use a heater and a fan or cooler
Thanks for the vid, super helpful! I guess you could look at it as the first time setting is when the first temp setting kicks in, the second is for the second.
Thank you for this. I bought this as a budget thermostat for my new snake rack until I can pick up another herpstat. I had it set to 90 and it dropped to 80.3. I watched your video and changed some things so I'm hoping that'll help. I see the temp going back up now slowly but in worried about another drastic swing
I just got mine. Using it for a Ball Python. I was hoping you can run one plug on timer then the other but you can’t. Both plugs run at the same time so a day and night light doesn’t work. A day and night temp is good to have. Not sure if it’s better to have multiples of a single plug w day and night timer and a day night bulb...it’s a bit confusing. I got a single for my heat mat which is great for constant temp control. Great video. Watched some other guys and his was horrible...Thanks!!!
Thank you for clarifying this, we bought it for the same purpose: running 2 separate heat devices for same bearded dragon enclosure. Glad to know it won’t work the way we were hoping.
Thank you. Very informative. I had been trying to get help from the manufacturer but they keep giving me the runaround. One question though. What do you have for the continuous heat duration? I was using 10 hours and kept getting alarms. I switched to 1 hour for a while but I was wondering if it should be zero.
OMG the instructions in the box were awful. I could not make heads or tales of it. Thanks for your video you don't know how much you helped me. AND the fact that you repeat it a few times...its almost like you know me lol lol.
Thank you for your help. Just two questions though. 1) You set the timer to 1. What does that entail? what does the timer do? 2. The temperature differentiation... you set it at -1.2F Does that mean that the tank temperature has 1.2F more or less than the inkbird temp?
Thanks much clearer now. Instructions way too hard to read. So both sockets switch on at the same time which I thought were seperate re the two lights. Thanks.
Really good instructs, Steve -- thanks. The pamphlet that comes with the unit is certainly lacking in transmitting any sufficient understanding without inducing a brain hemorrhage! Perhaps it's one of the reasons why this unit goes on sale all the time -- crappy instructions, huh. Using my Inkbird controller for a small greenhouse during the winter months. It will be held at one steady 6C temp with a variation of say 1C via an electric oil heater that has its own t-stat (maybe set to mid-level) on the 500 watt setting. But there is also another 1000 watt switch setting that can be used for exceptionally cold days/nights. Or it can combine both switch settings for 1500 watts total for even warmer use. With that in mind, and with this Inkbird unit stating to use with no more than 1200 watt load, what would happen to this controller if I inadvertently left both 500+1000 watt switches on -- would the Inkbird auto-shut down ..or burn up?? In other words, is there some sort of safety override (to prevent fire hazard)? Also, will this controller maintain the settings if there was an extended power outage?
Did you find a real difference between this 306 model and itc-308 model? I belong to a hotter region where summers last till November and I want to use it for chicks brooding. Can you help which model is best suitable
@@gandharaorganicfoods the 308 has cooling and heating, the 306T only has heating function but has the option of having two different (day and night) temperature ranges. sounds like the 308 is what you need to keep the high temperatures under control. I use the 308 to control an air intake fan which pulls in cooler air from outside. The ITC 312 combines both the features of the 306T and the 308 mentioned above,so that would be ideal for say indoor plant growth where you want to have heating and cooling alongwith the ability to have control over minimum day time and night time temperatures. Sadly the 308 only allows setting one TS so is not ideal where you want to control two different temperature ranges over 24 hours. The ITC 312 allows this along with cooling funtion, but is only availble in US version at this time .
Mine is offline due to a power outage so I removed it from the app and deleted the app, then reinstalled and it won’t reset the wifi and put it in network reconfiguration mode when I hold the up button for two seconds. Have you had this problem or do you know how to fix it ?
So if you have this set to 80 would you set the built in thermostat in the aquarium heater to like 82 and then let this inkbird turn it off/on or would you set the inkbird to 82 as the failsafe and let the heaters built in thermostat work it?
Question do you set the actual temperature dial to 75 on the physical heater or is the heater set at 80 degrees or do u set the heater on the highest and u just calibrate it threw the inkbird ???

Hey man, if I wanted to use this unit to run a fan to lower temperature how would I go about doing that? So far I have only seen these used to control heaters.
The 308 has a cooling function. the second plugin is for a chiller, and I am guessing you could run a fan off of it....I would check with the company itself tho.
I just got this thermostat and a dual dome lamp for my leopard geckos. I was hoping since it has two outlets I could set it to switch between the two for a day night cycle but I can't figure this thing out. Anyone know how to do this or if it's even do-able with this thermostat?
The top temp is what your tank is currently. You can calibrate that to match your other tank thermometer if you like. The bottom temp should be set to what you want your tank at for that time period. Think of the bottom as your goal, and the top as current temp!
This was more confusing the instructional manual. I just want to set it to go on at a certain temperature and off at certain temperature. This confused me even more.
Man even explaining this is giving me a mass headache. I don't even know if I want to set this up. All I want for this to do is if my Heater is set at 81 I want the inkbird to shut it off if it goes over. Anything else I dont want to mess with but seems like to many settings

Thanks for the video you did the best you could with such a bad design!, very convoluted for a thermostat?, I have another Japanese one it's so ease to use, I think a Computer designed this one, I never went to school but I'm sure I could design one that people wouldn't want to smash!, I wish I didn't buy it, thought I was getting a simple to use unit it's not. in the setting mode it just go's out of it super quick then you have to re input all the values. This is the problem with slave laborer there is no incentive for anything more than mediocrity. we need to stop buying crap from china. yes this unit can be made to work but it dose not excuse the fact that it is a engineering abomination.... WHY... WHY..WHY........
Thanks for your effort. But frankly, you are just as confusing as the written instructions. Why do you even want to differentiate the temp for day and night? It’s fine if they are the same. Hence why set two temp? Can you just simply show your viewers one temp setting?
In the case of an aquarium you probably don't need to differentiate between day and night and could set the same settings for both night and day. but for something like indoor plant growth with lights on and off cycles and varying temperature ranges, this is essential - they have messed up these models. The 308 has cooling but only 1 Temeprature (TS) setting. The 306T has no cooling but has 2 TS setting for different periods over 24 hours. PLant growers need the dual temp function of the 306T along with the cooling function of the 308 (keeps lights on high temps under control). Stupid that the 308 lacks dual temp control.

Means the inkbird is 1 degree off from the actual temp in the tank it just makes it more accurate
