Fritz zyme turbo start 700 is amazing good bacteria to use for starting an aquarium.
Would love to speak to you, need some advice on my tanks
Hi wondering if you can help I’ve got a problem with my Fish tank it’s been set up for almost 2 years now I went away for a long weekend come back and the water is really cloudy the whole time I’ve had it it has been clear apart from the first bacterial bloom when it was being set up never in issue until now what do I do The amount of food I see the time does not change due to I have an automatic feeder which I’ve had from the first day of fish keeping i’ve not changed food my pH level is 6.0 my ammonia level is zero ppm my nitrates is zero ppm and my nitrate fluctuates between zero ppm and 5.0 ppm I test my water with an IPI freshwater master test kit my water temperature is 26.5°C that’s 79.7 degrees Fahrenheit Love watching your videos in my spare time that’s how I’ve learnt all about the fish keeping
I love it how you leave no one behind from beginners to the more advanced…Totally in tune with all your subscribers Kev. Everything you share is done with great diligence and with reasons. You smash it every time, all at your own expense with no sponsorship which is a credit to you.🇬🇧
Thank you Simon! I really appreciate that positive feedback! I have to admit I get my best content from the questions you guys ask in the videos. Straight from the source! 😁💪
A FIRST!
New to the hobby and I will agree, your videos are very easy to follow compared to other UA-camrs. Keep up the great advice 👍🏻
I can see him having his own show!
pretty much leaving everyone behind when telling people to use scam products that are concluded in every single test and study to be completely ineffective.
Given how good chemistry is nowadays, I no longer bother waiting. I set up my tank, add the conditioner, let it run for a day. Then I go and buy some fish, add it to the tank, add the bacteria, and boom, all good. I have to say, good to monitor the levels though after, just in case you need to do a water change.
When having hundreds of dollars invested into fish it makes no cents to pinch pennies on a few ounces of water conditioners. Even if its a few "feeder fish" we should all strive to do our best to create the most comfortable habitat as possible for our fish. All they want is some clean heathy water and a pinch of food a couple of times a day. Well actually they would love a hand full of food every time you walk by the tank, lol. Its channels like yours K.A. that has help me come along way in caring for fish. Thank you for all your hard work and bringing us quality top notch content to be the best fish keepers we can be. Also, beautiful tanks and fish you got there.
Totally agree! Thank you for the positive feedback as well!
KaveMan and KGT are the only fish channels i watch. They are the best! straight and to the point and the best tips. I credit my healthy tanks to both channels.
Thank you bro, I'm flattered to be compared to KG, they have an awesome channel!
I love Prime Time as well, another awesome channel. But if you think they're not out to make money and earn a living, lol thats just laughable. A youtube channel is VERY hard work. Pumping out quality videos takes time, effort and money of your own investment. No one does this NOT to earn money.
@Jimmy P Aquatics I’m sure I don’t. But what I do know is they don’t put in Hours and Hours of work NOT to make money. They have ads on their videos just like the rest of us do. They sell Merch just like the rest of us do. They have a website that earns money as well. Just because a channel may or may not have a sponsor doesn’t mean they aren’t trying to make money.
This is VARY HARD work. But I know how easy it is to think it’s not from the other side.
And let me just make a point. There’s nothing wrong with trying to earn money from hard work. Prime time is doing everything right for the hobby and for themselves.
@JimmyP's Aquariums you sound like you live life with pride and authenticity. Can you work for me for free, because getting paid won't benefit you.
beginner with a 20gallon . watched about 20 videos over the weekend. you taught me so much. appreciate you sharing your time and knowledge.
My pleasure! Glad to hear you’re finding the channel helpful! 😁💪
✨STABILITY✨ This is the video that changed everything for me. I’ve been working to get cycled properly, on a correct cleaning - but-dont-kill-the-bacteria-schedule for the better part of a year. Stability is what I needed. I’ve watched most of your videos. You’re the best! Thank you!
Thank you! Glad you're finding the channel helpful! 😁💪

Not sure how I didn’t find you sooner! Love the way you explain things! Straight to the point and easy to understand!!! I’m in the process of cycling a tank and dealing with a crashed cycle in another. This was very helpful!!! Thanks ! 🐾🐶🐶🐾
Thank you! Im glad you've found it now! 😁💪 If you've got fish in that tank this video will be very helpful - ua-cam.com/video/9Cuqylaak3E/v-deo.html

Great video as always! Straight to the point, happy fish keeping!💪

Thank you so much for all the information & how to the point you are. I have watched 3-4 different fish UA-camrs after years out of the hobby preparing my new tank I got for Christmas & you demystify so many things while still being thorough. Thank you from 🇨🇱
Thank you! Glad you're finding the channel helpful! 😁💪
Brilliant as always. I wasn't sure when to add stability, so ended up finishing 1 bottle within a month. Now I know. Thanks bro. Fan for life.
Thanks bro, glad I could help! 😊💪
Wow I just learned several ways to improve my tank maintenance. And this is after listening to numerous videos on cycling and cleaning tanks. I appreciate the clarity of your information.
My pleasure! Glad you're finding the channel helpful 😁
Your awesome man! I appreciate your compassion for fish and helping others to learn how to keep their fish!🙏🥰
Thank you bro! Glad you're finding the channel helpful! 😁💪
Thanks for the help. I'm getting ready to get my daughter's some fish, and I've been stressing about all the new information. This will be their first pet, and I'm trying to to not mess this up. 😅 You've definitely got me feeling more confident about getting started. God bless.
Thanks for this upload, Kev. Still trying to fully understand the whole bacteria cycle piece. This will definitely help.
My pleasure bro! Make sure to check out the beginners playlist, great video on the nitrogen cycle in there!
@@KaveManAquatics yes, sir. I know it's another informative video as all the others.
Thanks Kev…always helpful!! I was using stability at every water change and I have 8 tanks…now I’m more clear on when I need and don’t need to do that. Because of you, I have very stable and beautiful tanks.
Oh yes, you're definitely going to save some money now! Glad I could help! 😊
I was doing the same thing, I was adding stability every water change every week. I hope I wasn't doing more harm than good but either way from now on I'll only add it after filter cleaning or new fish. Thanks Kaveman, you've helped me alot as I've only got my first tank a year ago.
Thanks for the info Kev. I was doing what some of your other followers were doing. Every time that I did a water change and once a month I was adding Stability. Thanks again.
Glad I could help!
You got a new subscriber bro, I watched 2 of your videos since last night and both were very informative! Just getting back into the hobby again and just needed some reassurances about starting cycle up & using nitrifying bacteria so thank you.
Welcome aboard bro, Glad I could help! 😁 BTW, you should check out my new Aquarium Keeping APP designed for beginners! - ua-cam.com/video/bIVxn4YCGWA/v-deo.html - aquabuildr.com
Thank you! This was so helpful. I have one question. I set up my tank the other week and added another brand of water conditioner and then a bacteria ball(not sure of name), and then left it overnight, then got two fish the next day. I then came across and watched your other videos and bought myself prime and stability. It’s now the next week both bottles have arrived. So should I start from now and add stability and Prime daily until tank establishes? How do I know my other brand products that I used on the first day of getting the tank won’t interfere with the new ones i’m about to use as i’m worried it will clash even though i have only used them once? Thank you so much again!
Great topic for all of us to continue learning, and a topic absolutely crucial for beginners. Thank you Kev for all your great beginner videos. This is how we share and expand fishkeeping!!!!
My Pleasure Jeff! Glad you enjoyed it. I'm always trying to keep the beginners in mind for exactly the reason you stated!
Thank you! So much info everywhere and I'm confused slightly. Setting up my first aquarium and trying to gather as much info as I can. Thank you for this video!

I’ve been watching a few of your videos.
Got yourself a new sub. Quick, to the point. Good job, keep it up, thanks for sharing.
Awesome, thank you! Glad you're enjoying the channel! 😁
Always got seachem prime and stability in my backpocket. Can be the difference between life and death for your fish. One of the best aquarium products out there in my opinion. Anyways, dope vid as always. 👊🏻
Thanks bro, I agree 100%!
Hey Kev, I watch all your videos now that I got into the hobby! Your vids are my go to for everything, very helpful. Not sure if you made a video on how to work up to a big 80% plus water change without harming the fish. I’ve been doing 50% weekly but want to move up. Thanks in advance!
I have mentioned it in a few videos…nothing to it really, just gradually increase your water change size by 10-20% each time. And keep an eye out for any signs of stress. They’ll get used to it fast, especially if you have hardy fish.
Kevin aquatics I have just started a new tank it's 29 gallon and I want to thank you Kev I've learned more off of you in the last 6 months and I want to thank you for that I've learned so much from you thank you
Thanks Kev. Great content as always. Have a great weekend!
Thanks! Glad you enjoyed it. You as well 😁
I can confirm that Kev’s technique for adding fish on day one really bloody works 😍 I successfully completed this a few months back and I was so impressed with the results. Healthy fish and amazing water readings 🐟
Awesome! Glad to hear it Katie, thanks for sharing your results with us! 😁
For a 55 gallon tank how much prime and stability do you put in a day
@@dtecrust it says on the label
Let me tell you I jumped head first into this hobby bought a 25 gallon stocked with tetras Cory cats loaches and a Beta originally I had Siamese algae eaters but they both died. I’ve dealt with algae blooms, bacteria blooms. A tank I didn’t cycle right in the first place. I’ve spent upwards of 800 on this tank, but finally watching these videos I have clear water and happy energetic fishies. I swear fish keeping is like drugs I’m hooked(no pun intended)
Absolutely love this video! You nailed it with every aspect. Been keeping fish for 7 years now and I love my blood parrots, they are MASSIVE and so orange and I’ve followed this routine for some time and have never had a problem👍
Glad to hear it bro! 😁💪
As a fellow veteran I can appreciate the no nonsense approach, straight to the point and all info right where you want it with no BS.
Thanks to you I know a lot more about the hobby. Kudos to you sir👌🏻👊🏻
Currently starting up a 125gal American ciclid tank.
And with your tips and tricks it’s going to be amazing 🙏🏻 🤩 thanks!
Greetings from the Netherlands 🇳🇱
Glad to hear that sir! Appreciate the positive feedback! And I commend you for your service to your country! 😊💪

Great advice I have super cloudy water on my 3 year old established tank. I cleaned my canister filter and left it spotless killing off the cycle and it’s been weeks. Large water changes has not helped. I’m sure Stability will help reduce the cycling time and help it get back to being crystal clear.
Great Video 😎Been busy but I stay in Tuned always with the new Content I like the new graphics and effects on the Video Awesome information Kev, Thanks
Thank you brother Daniel, Im doing my best to get you guys the info but staying entertaining
Getting into this hobby I really needed this channel. Thank you
My pleasure! Glad you're finding the channel helpful 😁
Thank you so much for this video. It is very informative. I just got an ammonia spike and I am pretty sure it's because I recently cleaned my filter and killed some bacteria. Thank again great great video
Great information as always kev
Thanks! Glad you enjoyed it
Kev this was very informative. I’m starting up in the hobby with Oscar’s in a 125 gal. Ur videos are very helpful. New subscriber here!!!🎉🎉🎉
Yohh just had a nitrite spike on an old established tank which i cycled the old school way and found your video ...was because i added new fish thanks for making video clear and straight to the point ! Big help

Kev, just wanna say your videos and your FB group have helped me tremendously‼️TY🎈💯

That’s awesome! You’re gonna love that tank! 😁 congrats
Been a fan of your videos for awhile. Happy your out there making things seem simple for people like myself. Happy to see your second arrowana is hanging in there. Also did i see a flower horn in your american cichlid tank?

Thank you bro, glad you enjoyed it! 😊💪
Thank You for the information.. It Was Good to Know This.. And more..
Glad it was helpful!
Loved the video. I have had a tank for a few years now. Unfortunately, when you think you know how it all works, something happens, like your filter goring out and having to replace it. Yep, happened to me. I moved my fish to another tank with the old tank water than, being dumb, I took all my decorations out and let them dry as I prepped and decided to change my substrate. I lost a lot of my beneficial bacteria found on my decorations. At the same time, I’m starting a new tank. Your videos have really helped me to remember the old and figure out what I need to do in certain situations. Thanks.
Glad to hear you're finding the channel helpful. But don't worry, many of us learn or have to re-learn things the hard way, including myself. And you're right, you never stop learning! 😊
THANK YOU! YOU ARE MY GO TO WITH ALL MY QUESTIONS
😊💪
I never thought of adding bacteria when you're adding new fish that's a good point I've been doing fish tank for over 30 years and never thought of that. You always learn something new thanks
My pleasure! Glad you're finding the channel helpful 😁
I clean my filters weekly and give a maintenance dose of Stability weekly. My tank is a heavily planted no water change tank just top it up with RO Water. Thanks, I enjoyed this video and a like from me.
Your videos are INCREDIBLE! Can’t believe you’re from Long Island also! Thanks for saving my tank!
My pleasure! Glad you're finding the channel helpful 😁
Thanks so much, my wife really wanted fish and got a tank today. I was panicking because i know how hard they can be to keep alive and why was a complete mystery. You have a great way with words and you're really engaging :)
Thank you! Glad you're finding the channel helpful! 😁💪 and congrats on the new tank!

Liked and subscribed!! ty so much for your help! I've been so stressed ... I have a green terror who is dealing with new tank syndrome due to my rookie mistake. I knew about my tank having to go though a cycle - for some reason it never clicked that it was the nitrogen cycle (i feel really dumb but at least im learning) also didn't know it could take so long I thought it was like a 3 day process.
Anyways, after binge-watching videos on the nitrogen cycle (because it finally clicked) I came across your page! SUPER helpful and easy to understand content. i feel 100x's more confident in knowing what to do to help my fish now than I did two hours ago.
gonna go self reflect on the whole blonde moment with the nitrogen cycle situation now.
Lol 🤣🤣 Don’t beat yourself up too bad. It has happened to the best of us! Important thing is you looked for help and found it! Thanks for the sub! 😁💪
Your videos really help me out a lot
Glad I could help!
Just found you this morning. Great information here and found you to be very relatable, great job. What I've heard so far can be used in our koi keeping also (except fish the same day, be a small fortune for products in a couple thousand gallons, lol). Keep up the good work. Just subbed
Thanks for the sub! Yea, I'd let that big pond cycle on its own lol Glad you're finding the channel helpful! 😁💪
Appreciate you bro. love the content and the channel. Have you ever covered the one , two punch? i recently had black beard algae.. taking over i was thinking of doing the one two punch.. but i just removed all my plants.. leaving my tank kind of ugly but haven't seen much bba any tips from you?
Great product Stability!! Love it 💕 I use it on my fish tank!! I recommend it!!
Agreed! 😁
I appreciate this video so much, thank you! Unfortunately I'm dealing with an ammonia spike though it's gone down significantly after yesterday's 50% water change. I saw another short of yours about fish in cycles where you mentioned I should avoid doing a water change during an ammonia spike, but here the advice is the do a water change and dose with prime and stability. How do you decide whether to water change or leave it be?
This was very helpful, thank you!
My pleasure! Glad you're finding the channel helpful 😁
Thanks for the video, really enjoyed it.
Happy to hear it! 😊💪
So true bro. I never learn about cycling a tank until I got my aquarium running. I just got Prime and Stability, add fish on the first day. Dosing Prime and Stability for a week. I got no dead fish at all.
So many thanks! I appreciate the knowledge 🙏.
My pleasure bro! 😊💪
Thanks to Mr.Kaveman Aquatics I have fully cycled my tank with fish in and I couldn’t be more pleased with the results. Along with water changes followed by your videos I couldn’t thank you any more!!! Appreciate you bro 💯

Just wanted to say I’m new to the channel and new to the fish hobby. You’ve been great Kev, especially about letting me know everything about Ammonia, good and bad bacteria and chlorine. Keep being awesome, thanks so much for sharing your knowledge! 👍👍

@@KaveManAquatics yes I did! Slowly working my way through and find the videos very helpful. I do have a 2 ft tank and I currently have a few buckets of water lying around, all treated with anti chlorine. But if the tanks get larger (like I’m planning a 4ft) how should I do the 80% water change in future? Just pour in tap water and use the Safe and other anti chlorine? I’m sure there’s a video on thus too :)
Ah! Found it :) ua-cam.com/video/5T4t_PdXCQw/v-deo.html

I am new hobbiest and damn this is 🔥 i watch all your videos. This is beyond helpful. Love you my bro thanks a lot
Happy new year, due to space I have a 5 gal tank and I'm wondering what fish can go in and be fine. Also I added some topfin water conditioner to the water as it was going in the tank and it's been running since yesterday. Other than a test kit, what else do I need before I can introduce fish to the tank. Thanks.
You're the GOAT, I wa finally good with ny 20 gallons ( before you and scheme) and I had the great idea to switch to a 40 gall tank, joke on me, because since I got it, everything went bad until I found you THANK YOU THANK YOU !!!!!
Thank you! and its my pleasure! Glad you're finding the channel helpful 😁
Thank you so much!! Big help👏👍🏻❤️

Hey Kev thanks for you knowledge it’s really helped me with getting started. Where did you get your decor, I can’t seem to find any like that.
All my backgrounds are from aquadecorbackgrounds.com Tell them KaveMan sent you, lol Also use code Kaveman10 at checkout for a 10% discount 😊
After 68 yrs of fish keeping from salt reefs to my 1st pair of guppies in mid 1950s. You explanation of aquarium nitrigen cycle is the 1st I've heard in last few decades to be accurate. People tend to think tanks can hold supply of bacteria. Like money in a saving account. 1,000 gal system with 1 fish then all bacteria it will have avaliable is for one fist add a 2nd you will notice a spike as bacteria has to catch up to demand. Remove one bacteria dies off.
And as for filter media I wash it under tap water filter isn't the big warehouse. Everything in system is housing bacteria gravel plants glass piping everything .
Great video as always 👍
Thanks! Glad you enjoyed it
As usual such an awesome video kev man ur just so good

I love these videos. I learn a lot and constantly smile
Thank you! Glad you're enjoying the channel! 😁💪
Great video kev as always. ...pony up seachem
lol, for real! 🤣 Thanks bro!
I haven't had a tank in a few years and decided to start up my tank. This was is so much easier than cycling without stability. It took FOREVER last time. Can't wait to get my fish (I haven't found one I like yet)
Welcome back! 😊💪
Thanks for these videos. Theyve been really helpful. How much bacteria should I add when adding fish to my tank? Is there a guideline based on tank size or number of fish being added?
Like always great info enjoyed the video
Thanks bro! Glad you enjoyed it!
Hey Kev, I have a series of questions for you ! 😭 I have south/central American cichlids in a 75 & did the fish in way of things…. I’m so paranoid about things that I’ll do almost daily water changes & am just curious as to how to let it cycle. Are they hardy enough to make it through that? Or how often should I do one. Sorry for the long message, I just really love these guys & don’t want them suffering! I use prime & stability as well. I knew you’d be the man to ask.
ive never used bacteria before but my grandmother gave me some tetra cleaning bacteria along with a ton of other chemicals which is awesome. i just did a water and filter change so i tried it out. couldnt hurt, it was free. I am also cycling a 5 gallon planted tank for shrimp and maybe some guppies. Ill test the water in a few days. It still had a lot of ammonia and other stuff in it when i checked last week.
Very good tips man.😉👍
Thanks! 👍

Hiya! First of all, thumbs up for the channel! After 15 years of not owning a tank, last week i've decided i really wished to own a tank again; also for emotional relaxation after an entire turbulent year. Bought a 35L tank 7 days ago, and was excited to add the first fish yesterday. I consulted with my local aqua shop to consider live plants - compatible fish according to my tank size, room's natural partial light, no air pump, no heater.. I was advised to keep the heater but to replace the media box that came with the tank so i was given the suggestion of an internal filter that can handle 40L-50L tanks and that can create surface agitation to make up for not wanting to add an air pump. I was given a dechlorinator to add that same day, was suggested one single Java Fern and was told the basic introduction of fish by adding a little water into the fish bags during acclimation for nearly 20 minutes (i did an hour, with multiple water mixing). Today i woke up to a cloudy tank. Any assistance? My local aqua shop said it's normal but during my previous years, i never had this problem, and i am after a second opinion
You need a lot of plants, for 35L, probably at least 6-7, ask what are the easiest plants, java fern is not that easy. You need at bottom substrate, like dirt with sand and small stones after that, let's say all 3-5 cm. Boil the water and leave it to normal temp to cool down. Buy the plants from your store and look that they are all inside the water, if the leaves are outside, they may melt. Take some floating plant too. After 1-2 days the plants will clean your water, and you can add fish even without testing the water (the only problem here is if you have chloramine in your water, in that case check your water provider webpage and ask in the aquatic shop, what they can offer to remove it outside the tank). Don't put too much food, if the fish eats it for 15-20 sec. that's it, no more than that. Find good cleaners for your tank like shrimps, snales etc. Don't add too much fish, just several, and you are not going to need a filter, air pump etc. just a thermometer and light for your plants. Don't add strange things, probably only bacteria eventually, and you are not going to change the water for the next several years if all goes well.
Great video, thank you.
