Thank you!! I bought a second hand ITC-306A today and couldn't figure out how to connect. Yours is the only video that I found that showed how to connect using the other mode. I couldn't reset mine and this information was the missing link. Thank you again.
Good review. I have this same Inkbird. I have been using it for about a year. It will also give you a notification if one of the probes comes out of the water.
Thank you. Wasn't expecting to want another temperature controller as I have the Simplyaquaria on the tank, however I thought with the WIFI model it would be handy to have and save me going out to the garage to check on the temperature! Lazy probably! Thanks. That's good to know about the probe notification. I didn't know that and have both probes sucked to side of the Brute bin on opposite sides too. Next I need to get WIFI to the garage!! 😄
Thank you. Probably a bit over the top for my saltwater mixing station but having the wifi unit and app makes it so easy to see if I need to go out to add the salt yet or not! Lol
Thank you for this video, your explanation of how to operate the Inkbird is SO much better than the directions that came with it! Question: Is there an Inkbird that would work with a cooling fan?
Hi, many thanks for your kind words 😊 I'm pleased to be of help. There is an Inkbird for both heating and cooling and it's the ITC-308. It's also available in WIFI too 😀 Thankyou for supporting my channel
Thanks heaps - so T1 is when it starts heating and T2 is when the heating cuts off? So setting t1 to 21 and t2 to 25. The unit will heat when 21 degrees is hit and stops heating at 25? Many thanks Mark
Hi Mark, I'm glad the video helped you 😀 Yes that's right, although you may want to have the difference between T1 and T2 less, otherwise you may experience Heater Timed Out and it will stop heating and sound an alarm showing a certain error code. I can't remember what mine is set to now, but probably only has like 1 or 2 degrees difference. Thanks for supporting my channel 😀
Ive used this video before to get my inkbird connected to my app but this time after upgrading the app to inkbird pro i cant get my app an inkbird synced. When i choose the correct inkbird nothing changes on the device. Is there not a way to set it through the device itself?
Thank you first of all for this video tutorial but I was just wondering I have the exact same inkbird 306a device but it seems to be not able to connect with my phone app so was just wondering what to do despite trying multiple times and following your instructions on this video clip or from other people's videos on UA-cam. As far as I am aware my home BT wifi router has no problem and my inkbird 306a device seems to be good working order but just not able to connect the inkbird 306a device with my phone app. If anyone has any advice/ could help it would be very useful & greatful. Thank you.
Hi Tom, thankyou for watching this video and supporting my channel. Have you made sure your router is set to 2.4ghz and 5ghz? This only works on the 2.4ghz. If I remember I had problems connecting mine and went with the AP mode with a slower flashing light. Also try doing it close to your router and then once connected move it to where ever it's going. Hopefully you will get it up and running soon as it's a great bit of kit. Mine is now connected to WiFi even though it's in the garage about 40ft from the house. I just added another TP Deco Mesh M4 to my M5 setup so now extends out further. Good luck with yours.
@@ReefDrama Thank you very much for your kind advice and fast response to my message. I will try to take it into consideration and try again to get my inkbird 306A set up/ link up to my phone again hopefully it will all go well this time/ be successful????? Anyways in the meantime thank you very much again for your kind message. If however am not successful or there is further problems down the line I guess I have to try another way around/ new option. Thank you, Tom.
Thanks for the video. I just set up the same model inkbird. I have the temp settings at 71 and 73, but my tank wont go any lower than 76. I'm confused. I've got an accurate thermometer in the tank, so I've calibrated the inkbird from that. It's been set up for 3 days and i can't get the temp to drop (my house is 70 degrees)... Any thoughts?
Hi, I'm glad you found the video helpful. So you have the twin heating version like mine, not the heating and cooling version? Im guessing if your tank is 76, then the Inkbird hasnt turned on both the heaters? Where are your temperature sensors placed? What temperature have you set you heaters at? I usually have mine set a couple of degrees higher, so just in case the Inkbird fails, then the heaters won't continue on and cook your fish. It is strange if your house is 70, then I wouldn't have thought the tank water would be much higher although obviously depending on what lights, return pump etc you have, they will all give off additional heat. Just make sure the Inkbird settings are correct and one of your heaters isn't actually on. Otherwise, so long as the temperature doesn't drop, then enjoy free heating and cheaper electricity bills 😀 Just keep monitoring it. Thanks for supporting my channel 😀
Hi, the continuous heating set time is there to let you know that your setpoint temperature can't be reached. It will trigger the E5 alarm, and yes, it will stop heating. You would then need to reset it to start the heating process again. Sometimes, this is because your heaters aren't powerful enough for the amount of water volume. What are your T1 and T2 set to? Is it struggling to heat your tank? Thanks for supporting my channel 😀
Hi I have same unit. I have high temp to 84 deg, low at 72 deg. I have tank temp set at 78. For some reason at 3 am I got a e5 buzzer going off. It seems the temp is not getting up to my set temp of 78.i have 2 200 watt eheims hooked up and heating light on control does not turn off. Have any idea what did wrong
Hi, mine is currently off at the moment as I only use it for heating up water to then salt ready for a water change. However I used to get E5 as well and found that when I set my T1 to 24.5c and the T2 to 25c it's much more stable and haven't had the issue since. Also make sure the 2x probes are in the same place. Either both in the sump in the same chamber or both in the main display otherwise that confuses it too. Hope this helps. Thanks for supporting my channel 😀
@@ReefDrama I think I found the problem. I had it set to alarm me if wifi goes out. Well that was the night alarm went off and I lost wifi. I am not even sure it was e5 but I set up like you said and it seems to be working . Thanks
Thank you so much for the video. Very well done. I just have a question with regards to what temperature you actually set your thermostats to? Do you just turn them up a couple degrees past what you have set the ink bird to or do you just turn them all the way up and let the Ink bird take control?
Thankyou very much. I'm glad you enjoyed the video and thanks for supporting my channel. Yes your correct, I actually set my thermostats to around 28/29c which is 2/3c above the temperature controller. This Inkbird is only for my saltwater mixing station for heating up my saltwater prior to a water change but my Simplyaquaria controller I use on my tank is the same. Controller set to 26c and heater thermostat set to 28c. Hope that helps 😀
Hey, you should just be able to set it up via the controller itself using the 'set' and 'arrow' buttons. Once set up, just leave it. Which one have you brought? Thanks for supporting my channel 😀
Hi, the digital display is always on if you have it on your fish tank unless of course you turn the unit off, like in my case as it's only used to heat up my new saltwater for water change once a week.

Yep, that should work if you're too far away from the main router. I'm using Deco M5 Mesh and have 4 around the house, so luckily, my garage and gardens are all covered.
Hi, ive just bought the same model and managed to download the app and connect it fine. But when I go click the device instead of the orange screen loading, it is a white screen with chinese writing and adjustable settings. Does anyone else have any experience of this? (Its the inkbird pro app)
Hi Mike, mine only gives me a white screen (no Chinese writing tho) when the Inkbird is off in the garage and I open up the app. How far away is your Inkbird from your router? Maybe try deleting the app from your phone and re-downloading it. Also, set it up and test it in the same room as your router if you haven't already tried that. Hope you get it working. Thanks for supporting my channel 😀
