- I'm FINALLY back with another Top 10! This has been my project for the last 2 weeks, (delayed thanks to a cold) but I'm so happy it's done! Today's video covers what I believe are 10 of the strangest ways that Pokemon evolve.
** 0:38 CORRECTION: Porygon-Z is the only 3 stage Pokemon that can obtained at level one that DOESN'T include a baby as part of its line. I meant to say that in the video but forgot, whoops

LegendaryKing In gen 6, you can find it under the bridge, everybody know that. In gen 3 however, your game choose 3 random water tiles (out of hundreds) that you can find on the road to the flying gym, and it is different on every copy of the game. Seriously, up until this date, I still can't find that 3 random tile in my sapphire game file.

1-Battle using Yamask
2-Have Yamask take at least 49 damage, without dying, self damage and passing damage (poison) don’t count
3-Go to a very specific place in the Wild Area.

To prevent Shedinja from stealing your Master Ball, you can try giving a Pokemon to hold the Master Ball before Nincada evolves, once you have Shedinja you can take the Master Ball back

The other tricky bit with getting a Sylveon is also just making sure it doesn't accidentally evolve into anything else. If you're playing casually this can be a bit of a trick!

I have questions;
If Mantike needs a Remoraid in the party to evolve then why can't that exact same method be used to evolve Slowpoke by having a Shellder in the party? They could make it so the Shellder just disappears once Slowpoke evolves.
Using a similar method, why can't they make it so you have to have three Magnemite or Diglett in the party to evolve one in to Magneton or Dugtrio??

If the shellder is above the slowpoke in your party, it will evolve into slowking. If shellder is below the slowpoke in your party, it will evolve into slowbro.

hmm! i’m guessing the 3ds uses an accelerometer to determine its orientation, so in space (or, equivalently, if it were in free fall) all you would need to do is push the 3ds from its top while Inkay is leveling up to evolve it!

Excuse me, I'm a little late. But I figured out (I think) how to choose Wurmple's evolution a few years ago. If you got a Wurmple with a +Defense, +Special Defense or Neutral nature, it will evolve into Cascoon. If it is a +Attack, +Special Attack or +Speed nature, it will go into Silcoon. I tried and repeated this in Emerald, and this happened all the time, no exceptions. It's up to you confirm if it was a coincidence all the time. At the time I thought it was related to the fact that Dustox was way more defensive and Beautifly was the Femme Fatale.
I actually didn't know that they implemented a way requiring to turn your DS upside down to evolve O_O

Evolving feebas was very easy in platinum since you could just buy beauty poffins in velstone city. Baring in mind you do need around 10 and they cost quite a bit but still easier than grinding for berries.

Well in Ruby, sapphire and emerald you can catch both silcoon or cascoon individually. Thus making the evolution process a tad bit easier for you.
In my Ultra Moon play through, I tried the Inkay Evolution method and it worked. I was super happy to evolve it when I did.
If you look at malimar upside down it's just a squid.
If you look at magikarp upside down it's just an upside down karp.

I thought the Knuckles Evolution was the hardest.
You had to use a "Genesis Cable" on RBY or FRLG and transfer a Shiny Sandslash to Sonic and Knuckles or S3&K. Then, you trade it back, and it will be holding the Master Emerald. Then you had to be in Cerulean Cave, level up Sandslash while having a piece of paper saying "& Knuckles" taped on your GB/GBA. Then you get Knuckles.

You can get a Milotic in gen 3 when you catch it, just use Kelpsie Berry’s when you get surf and stock up on them, they work just as well as Pamtre berries

there's a bit more depth about wormadam than you might think. the reason why her cloak becomes permanent after evolving is because when a female bagworm becomes an adult, they become completly stuck within their cloak. unlike their larval state, they can't build a new cloak if it gets damaged. they can't even move at all, is up to the males to find them in order to mate.

How to make a complicated evolution
Ok so
Get a Kantonian Eevee, go through all the gyms with only Eevee
Transfer Eevee to Crystal and make it through the gyms (all 16)
After that trade it 5 times with random people
Receive the same Eevee from trade
Defeat Red on Mt.Silver 22 times
Level Eevee to level 100,
Teach it metronome
Fight the elite 4
Beat Lances last pokemon with metronome (have it land on a dragon move)
Finally, beg Nintendo to transfer it to Sun/Moon
Give Eevee a moonstone
Then it evolves into a dragon type Eevee
Rex n' Raptor I doubt it

There's still a 1/8 chance that the eevee was a female.

Tip for hitmontop: put him in the daycare 'till level 19 and level him up, in order to not raise his atk/def stats you can just use a rare candy, send him and then switching him, or killing pokemons that give spa/spd/spe/hp.
But I think hitmonlee and hitmonchan are way better than hitmontop, at least in gen 2, he's useless in gen 2.
in my opinion Malamar and Inkay is number one on weirdness

Am I the only one that finds Feebas easy to evolve? I actually love pokemon contests so I enjoy doing stuff like that

Eli Fabbricante Not really. I don't dislike contests but I don't really love them either.
I enjoy the idea of contests, but never competed in them very much because I felt they created too much of a divide in my party. Because moves in contests have different effects than in battles, it made it awkward trying to have move sets that functioned well in both simultaneously.
I love watching contests in the anime, though. Probably even more so than battles.

I get Inkay's because Malimar (didn't spell that right) looks like a bigger version of Inkay but upside down.
so... I have a funny story to share.
I was playing Pokemon X, (after I beat the game) and trying to evolve ALL off my Pokemon.
eventually, It was time for me to start evolving inkay.
after several minutes of leveling him up, I noticed he wasn't evolving, sooooooo.
I looked up inkay on bulbapedia, AND GUESS WHAT I FOUND,
"to evolve inkay into malamar, you have to hold the 3DS, upside down."
so, after a LITERAL MINUTE of sitting upside down and playing the game (WHICH ISN'T AS EASY AS YOU MIGHT THINK), I finally got inkay to evolve.

Another thing that makes Feebas so hard to evolve is actually finding the thing. Also 2 years later and we have Galarian Yamask. Ooh boy.
Little did she know, just a few years later we got, Yamask's evolution in sward and shield
