installing a BOOST DISTRICT LSA SUPERCHARGER on my silverado

  • It's time for the supercharger! We're tearing down the LS 4.8 in my stepside silverado, and making room for the LSA supercharger. This came on the Cadillac CTS-V as well as the Camaro ZL1 and on the 6.2 engine, it was rated somewhere around 550 to 580 horsepower. I do have a slight disadvantage with only a 4.8 liter LS, but I am excited to see how much power and torque the LSA Supercharger can add to my silverado. Today we're covering the installation of the actual supercharger, which means the old intake has to come off, the accessory drive is removed, and we'll work on the adapter plates so we can line up the rectangle port LSA supercharger with the cathedral port heads on the 4.8. We do need to do a little clearancing for the LS9 fuel rail, but nothing too major.
I did get a few questions on how I modified the blower snout to clear the fuel rail and bypass valve, so I wanted to address that. This is a totally optional step which you don't have to do, and you can elect to either leave the front fuel rail bolt out altogether, or install a spacer to raise the fuel rail up above the bracket and bypass valve.

Treat this video as if he was inviting you into his shop. Shut the f* up and listen to highly trained professional. Don't complain. You're here to get educated 4 FREE, not to complain about music. Whichever you do voice-overs or music, your loyal fans will still be here and support you regardless. Thank you for all your hard work and effort 💜

Agreed. However if a creator wants the content to be "family friendly" I believe it's a relative must to keep the profanity to a minimum. Personally I don't give a crap one way or another. I curse like a sailor and my language doesn't change when my own kids are around. I heard once that, paraphrasing, "people with no verbal filter are the most honest". This doesn't make me more profane but it certainly rings true in my personal circles... Keep making great content LT!

@@TheTopCat650 Right, but if I am going to sit down and watch something with my 2 year old and 5 year old around, I'm not going to watch channels that have vulgar language or lyrics. He can do whatever he wants, but if he consistently wants my views, he is best off leaving the vulgarity out. I'll still watch, just not when my boys are around, which means I may just not get around to watching his videos as often.

@@jaredshaffer3901 they are going to learn the words eventually, my kids are almost 12 and my daughter would throw tantrums and make God awful noises when she gets frustrated and finally we told her just to drop a f bomb when frustrated, it's so much better now and she can easily manage her frustration with 1 word rather than some hissy fit. It's called effective communication and curse words are a crucial part of conveying emotions.

I was one of the ones that complained about the music, but it wasn't about the explicit lyrics; I honestly didn't notice, as I muted most of it because I just disliked the sound. It's just simply that this old guy found it a bit too "edgy" and would much rather something more in the rock genre. I was pleased that LT responded to my post, it's good to know my concerns were heard.

I think your doing a good job with the editing, style and regular uploads. You’ve got interesting projects I can identify with and enjoy watching. (I had a 2002 1500 std cab 4x4 w/ 4.8 and M/T from new until just a couple years ago). The standard cab, the manual, the v8 just all made it such a great truck and I miss it.
One thing I’d love to see on your std cab is a T56 or similar manual trans swap. You never ever see them on high power 4wd, it would be unique, and fun as heck. Besides you’ve got the other truck for setting 1/4 mile times.

Honestly I truly enjoy the format you have. The fact you were on a TV show really shines through. Some people don’t like it, but I think it works well for you. I believe a combination of voice over, music, and speaking directly to the camera works well. Too much of one thing is very monotonous, which I think is why your format works so well.
I’ve been watching you since truck tech, and I enjoy you pushing the envelope with builds and doing things different from others. I don't have kids, but I'm grateful that you're willing to make your channel family friendly. I learned a LOT of my car knowledge as a kid watching the shows on Saturdays on TV. They're your videos, you do as you see fit. Yes, I commented on the music, more so because it was a surprise. I'll watch regardless. I enjoy how you have been creating/producing/editing them. I, personally don't care for 100% voice overs. I like your explanations, then the action clips, recap, and repeat. Music in the background or not, not a huge deal, personally if you do add mudding in the background, I would like the volume no louder, maybe even lower, I still like to hear the sounds of the action, the air gun, ratchet, hammer, whatever.
The fact that you asked, that you redid that last one (not even necessary IMO) speaks volumes, I appreciate your desire to meet, as much as you can, your viewers preferences. Just don't go to far, don't loose you, keep them do that they're something you enjoy. If you enjoy doing them, it will show, and we'll enjoy them. If you stress too much to please everyone, which is a futile expectation, you won't enjoy the whole process as much and that too will eventually show through. Your channel, your work, your videos. Thanks again for the great content. ;)

Your content and your commentary is very helpful. Background music is fine. Know that the more views you have, the more haters you will have. Grow some thick skin and do this the way you want. The guys and gals that watch you to learn will always appreciate what you do.

Music is fine an occasional voice over when needed isn't bad but I enjoy the way your videos are laid out with a talking segment and then a video of the work being done

I like the tunes! You usually explain so well before and after tasks. Maybe switch up the voiceovers with tunes for delicate technical tasks? Keep up the good work. Thanks.

Most respectful Creator ever. Guys grow up your kids are going to hear profanity and then when they grow up they'll probably use it. Thank you for your content. Dad of 1

I may not always agree with the directions of your projects but they are YOUR projects. I may not like the music on certain videos but they are YOUR videos. I do agree that clean is safer but again YOUR choice. That being said just because I don't always agree that doesn't make either right or either wrong and at the end of the day I enjoy ALL of your videos so I watch every single one start to finish as well as click the thumbs up for each one. Just stay authentic brother and this channel will grow and I will still be here watch and liking them all. Keep up the great work. I am very interested and seeing this project advance as well as how the 4.great does with the LSA considering this is one thing I have never encountered.

Your channel is great, and it’s a lot of fun watching you develop your independent talent. I’ve enjoyed your camera presence since your time on cable. Keep up the good work, and please for the love of holy- Don’t do straighten up voiceover videos as your primary content.
    Keep doing what you enjoy!

You are over thinking it lol. I wanted to see your new video after work and it was gone. I don’t care if it’s music or over voice I just like the content you post. Coming from a guy that has a single can SS clone. From me don’t think about it too much. Great work you do by the way:

    Since you asked.
I enjoy the voice overs, tips and instructions which are shared on your videos.
Likewise, I realize your videos include general material which dont necessarily need to be explained and at such time the music is reasonable to fill this dead space. However, I wish the tunes were more of a background sound rather than one which overshadows what's taking place in the video. Re: If the tunes are LOUDER than the die grinder, it probably needs to be decreased in volume. :)
Keep up the good work :)

The music for background is nice, but I also like the voice overs. The VO can help shorten a long video so it does have its place. I think the best place is a balance between the two. Still like the vids!
