In the 60s/70s the Beretta Mod. 51 Brigadier pistol was adopted and between the end of the 80s and the beginning of the 90s the Beretta Mod. 92sb pistol and its evolutions were adopted. All weapons strictly in 9x18 caliber. Only the Guardia di Finanza adopted the Beretta Mod. 84bb f pistol in 9 short caliber. Since 2023 it has adopted the 92FS, PX4 Storm pistols. The Guardia di Finanza (acronym G. di F. or GdF) is one of the Italian police forces with a military organization, with general competence in economic and financial matters. It is directly dependent on the Minister of Economy and Finance. All the weapons of the Italian police forces are in 9x18 caliber.

I believe that you mean the 9x19 luger/parabellum/nato round.
