Had the same knife, the edge got totally destroyed cutting a maple sapling the size of an index finger (the steel was extremely brittle). Hope yours will be more sturdy. Very nice kit you got there.
@wallopthecat I have the tabs in the kit for sure. I have boiled water in the thick plastic bottle bags like in this kit many times before over the years. The trick is to suspend them high enough the flames and keep them moving. It's a 1 and done deal, though, so that's why I go to the tabs 1st. Thanks for following along 🇺🇲🤘

Good kit! Love the use of tape/paracord to bind relevant items together. How are you boiling/purifying water with this kit? Just flocculant tabs?
