- Knock Knock - Who's there? After buying the cheapest Yaris we could find, we big blocked it with a 1.8L and then slapped on the cheapest turbo in the world for $169. We ran up an incredible 200HP (150kw) at the wheels with Yaris Hilton.
But our first street drive brought about a strange knocking sound from under the hood. In this episode we find out what went wrong, then add some wheels, tyres and lowered springs to get Yaris Hilton finished for the first proper street drive...

as an engineer and car builder now i use a washer behind the rivet when on plastic and you can pull it fully without the worry of it pulling through.. Senior fabricator M-Developments new zealand

This stuck with me throughout my day for some reason also... Maybe because they made it seem so attainable for my brokeass to do... It's been on my mind to swap a motor into a car or small truck as a project.... Something like the biggest current Toyota V8 into a small Tacoma would be cool I think

When using rivets on softer materials like plastic use a washer on the inside to stop the rivet pulling through. That's if it's accessible.

Love these types of builds! Find a cheap nugget, (that most people actually can relate to) modifying it like this step by step, then take it to the track to actually test it and see how it evolves and what the mighty-mods (haha) actually do in reality. Such good entertainment. 10/10 keep it up guys!

Grip is great but I would have gutted the car, put a light battery, invest in better suspension instead of spending on heavier wheels and try fix the front grid.

Hi! A tip: When you put in loweringsprings its a good idea to shorten the bumpstopps equaly mutch as the springs will lower, othervise you will run mutch on the bumpstopps instead of on the spring :-)

the really funny bit was when they said the wheels wernt from a proper mini but a maxi, they are obviously totally unaware of or forgotten about the austin/BL maxi, those wheels certainly didnt come off of one of them lol, incidentally the original mini clubman came about as a styling excercise to make the front look more maxi like to have a bit of uniformity to link the two :)

@@aldenrepp3750 same. Also @marsrover001 I plugged the stock 1.5 hp and weight of the us spec 2007 yaris into a drag time calculator stock should in theory run a 16.9 and theirs with 200whp should run a 13.1.
Everyone including myself thought it was a rod or bearing. Soo glad it was minor, and now with the fender flares it looks saaweeeet. Love it

my experience is that new springs tend to take a couple of days driving to settle in on the right height so to mount new tyres and grinding the fenders can be complicated to get right before the springs is runned in.

Supreme Cippy Here in Britain, anything over two litres is the equivalent of a big block.
@@chrishenniker5944 I think they're referring to the differences between big block and small block V8s, which is where the term comes from. The differences between them are about their physical design and bore/stroke ratio rather than explicity displacement, though the big blocks are typically higher. But it is possible to have a small block with a greater displacement than a big block.

Only downside is 17s on a yaris on UK roads would be horrendous, one pothole and your spine will be shortened a few inches 😂

Bloody love Ms. Hilton. I inherited my wife's old Citroen C1 1.0 and the thing is a proper go kart. I was going to just leave it as it's my daily shopping kart while I fix my Audi S4 (see channel!) but I've just bought some springs (on your advice) and going to get some wider wheels and bad ass arches like Yaris Hilton. Not going to engine swap though, and considered turboing this 1.0 (4k kit available) but I'm going to go for a progression NOS kit with a 50hp shot. Should get me over 100hp and be completely suitable to turn on and off daily!

First new car I bought was an 07 yaris 5spd. Then proceeded to cram 20in ICW wheels on it. Turning radius of a 1 ton truck and needed every hp it had.. but I thought it had a hotwheels vibe lol
As someone that had a modded Yaris 1.5L, I approve! The 1.8L swap was in the plans but had to trade it in for a family car.
