After hours of searching and trying to find a video that clearly goes through the steps, this is hands down the best video I've seen on touching up damage like this, thank you!
Hey ! Out of a crap ton of videos I have seen with thousands likes this is the most comprehensive and detailed. So underrated with only 58 likes. Awesome job and thanks for explaining absolutely everything !
Nope, the Putty is sold separately. But it will be offered as an add-on during checkout. Regarding the Clear, all of our colors are a basecoat/clearcoat system and all of the Kits include Clearcoat.
Hello! Since making this video a couple years ago we developed a Polishing Kit that really makes polishing the final finish a lot easier and safer. If the surface is prepped and painted properly, the Polishing Kit will help smooth out the Clearcoat even more and add additional gloss. You can see the product and a video here just to give you an idea: www.amazon.com/dp/B0BT8J3J6X?ref=myi_title_dp
Hi, i have a question on the Fingernail Test .. It did not scratch & its not deep .... you can feel dip from the edges but is very little & the Mark is smaller then your Mark on the car... Will i need to Put & Sand it ... or Can it be done with primer ,Coating, paint... As well can i use the Pencil version. since the mark is slightly smaller then this mark Thank You
I’m really sorry, I don’t know how we missed yours comment. It sounds like what you’re describing that it’s possible the primer will fill it. Primer will build and fill very shallow scratches. Yes, the Pen applicator would likely work fine.
@@TysonET I would guess most likely not. If it's a small chip then likely the primer can fill it enough. Keep in mind it's very difficult to have a 100% smooth, built up finish. If you want to email me a picture at uri@touchupdirect.com, I'm happy to give a recommendation.
I have scratches down to bare metal. Do I have to putty them or can I just use base coat color and clear? I'm not the best at this. I'm a 61 year old grandma lol.
Well, it all depends. Using Putty and Primer will add a few steps and can make the repair a little more complex. If the damaged area is very tiny, like a stone chip or something of that nature, you can just use Color and Clear. If it's a little larger, then you may want to go with the Putty and Primer. But remember, if you use Putty and Primer, then you will need to sand between steps.

Scratches from being keyed are the most difficult to touch up. Typically the scratch is so fine that it's difficult to actually get the paint in the scratch and even more difficult to get the clear in it. You can attempt to polish out the scratch with something like our Polishing Kit: www.amazon.com/dp/B0BT8J3J6X?ref=myi_title_dp But even that is dependent on just how deep the scratch is. Sorry we do not have a better answer for you.
No it doesn’t. We’re working on a putty solution that will be small enough to be useful and easy to ship. But it won’t be ready for a couple months yet.
@@mmmmmtam Thanks for the order! I would just look for a 1k air dry spot putty, Bondo is a trusted brand. The problem is they are sold in such large containers because generally they're made for body shops, making it wasteful. It lasts forever, but typically people don't need much putty. Sorry, we don't have our ready just yet, we've been working on the packaging since January and it's quite difficult to make something that can be mailed.
@@mmmmmtam Yes, the product will work fine without it. If the scratch isn't deep, the primer will build up and fill it after multiple coats. Putty is only required if the scratch is very deep.

does the touch up paint kits come with the putty and does the paint provided have its interblend clear coat?

Hi there, what kind of sandpaper did you use after painting to smother it out?
Thanks and good video by the way.

would this work on a chip the size of a rice grain?
Yes, it would.
I’m not quite sure if I need putty but the chip is on the trunk and u can see the metal

How long does it take to dry in between coats?
Depending on the weather, usually 10-20 minutes. Extreme cold or dampness will extend the dry times.

Couldn’t camera have zoomed in on initial scratches. Sighhhhh.
It’s like camera entire time was told never come close gawd forbid viewer see any detail of what’s happening during instructions lol
This is way too involved
