  • HOW TO FIX PAINT SCRATCH ON CAR BUMPER like a PRO | Easy
If your car bumper has scratch or scratches and you want to see how to fix scratches on front or rear bumper on your car we will explain that in this video. There is not reason to repaint a whole bumper just to fix a paint scratch. Paint scratch on a bumper happens very often and it is one of the most common type of paint scratch on a car. We demonstrated how we used touch up paint to fix the paint scratch on the bumper of this Chevrolet and as you can see the results are very good. After we fixed the paint scratch on the bumper it was almost not visible at all. You have to really look close to see that there was a paint scratch on the bumper. Hopefully the video will be helpful and it will teach you how to fix paint scratch on car bumper.

Use a little piece of paint stick wrapped with a strip of 2000 grit. Then 3000 grit.
The block of wood should be about 3/4" x1 inch. Cut a strip 1 inch wide and 6" long.
Use a water bottle with a squirter to keep the sand paper wet. A little dish soap( 5or 6 drops shaken up) in the water makes it slide better.
If you had to put several coats of color then clear. I would recommend 1500 grit to start with.
This whole process works great on hood chips too.

The whole bumper, you lucky if that's where it stops, they wanted to do both fenders to make sure they match the hood for me. I would just paint the hood black.

Hello, i have done similar repairs like this, but i like how you showed entire process in real time... one of the best demo and explanations on fixing scratches... i have a question... When applying clear coat i would think it would be good to not only apply to where you did touch up paint but slightly over lap on to original paint... then when you wet sand you would have a smooth transition and no hard edge... i think you may have done this, but you did not mention it when you applied the 2-3 coats of clear.... Lastly is that a 2k clear on that dupli color en kit??? i ask because i never use that pen...i just use regular base and clear from large cans ...thanks again for the great demo...

@@SylvesterPotter Per this comment Greenpower2 wrote a year ago, this may be a valid explanation; "Even though the license plates were different, it is the same car. I look at the dark spot and it still shows very slightly. Still a great job! I think the reason for the change of plates is because this is a trade in car. And as a dealer, he was fixing the paint before putting in the dealer plate." 😉I did not even notice the plate change. I was so focused on the area of the bumper where the repairs were made. @Anna Graham is very observant.

Thank you! Great tutorial, you are really saving ppl some money. If you took that car to a collision center I guarantee they would quote you for an entire new bumper. And the people making fun of these " guys" ....pretty sad. I admit at first he said it a lot. But you can tell he is from a different background. Laugh to yourselves not try and publicly roast the guy on his channel.

450 quid for similar damage? They are probably quoting for a complete bumper respray with removal and refitting.
I have my own company doing mobile bodywork/paint. That amount of damage would be £100 to repair and paint to a Bodyshop standard and would be completed in about 2 hours.
