Not only was this a historic victory for an organization that had become infamous in the league's inaugural season for their 0-40, but this serious marked the last professional OWL game to be played with Overwatch 2 on the horizon set to shake up the competitive landscape.

In the final Overwatch 1 match ever in the OWL, the Dragons complete their transformation from worst Overwatch 1 team to ever play in the OWL to the best Overwatch 1 team to ever play in the OWL. The journey took the entire lifespan of Overwatch 1 and IMO it's the greatest storyline in esports.
I can't overstate how much I love this team.

Man, I wanted to see a breakdown of King's Row. Shanghai crafted a composition specifically designed to counter Atlanta's KR strategies and it worked perfectly, except I don't know how that worked and I would love to know
This is called mental booming ;) I tried to do what dragons do on control and it works really well. People even in like t2,3 take so long to comm and plan, which coach moon really take advantage of
I'm a huge Reign fan, and I'm really happy with our run through the lower bracket. But man, this video shows a lot of minor mistakes made by individuals on the team (Kai out of position, etc) and the Dragons just gave us no room to make those mistakes
To be fair, we dont know that calls where for the Kai out of position and so on.
Their coordination is absurd, the entire team is literally moving like a hive mind it’s incredible to watch

that tele bluff/bait was one of the most cheekiest things I have seen
From the Havana game, you could’ve included how in the second last fight Fate charged Kai off the map right at the end, and due to his spawn being far away he couldn’t get back for the final fight, meaning Shanghai also had a 1-man advantage. This is also the reason why Kai typed “NOOOOOOO” in chat right before that fight

I was a Reign fan and was so excited to see them get to the finals... but that game was just hard to watch. They didn't even stand a chance xD

That’s true. At least the season and Overwatch 1 was able to end with a great display of skill and mastery before we move onto the era if OW2.

I remember when the owl first started, I bought the dragon's genji skin because I liked the color scheme and all my friends told me the dragons were the worst. Now look at them.

I don't understand why it's the winner of the winners bracket vs winner of the losers bracket. Theres a big difference in skill that way. Why does it not just have a normal semifinal format.

Easily, very easily. I don’t have a clue how Atlanta made it to the finals. I get their tank line is insane but I just don’t see where the team managed to get that high in the rankings. Like quite a few teams have a great tank line

Going from the worst team in sports history to the best team in the world in their respective sport (esport), is literally an incredibly storyline. I'm annoyed owl doesn't get the same attention anymore because this storyline is literally a very special one across all esports.
The inability to do the home and away system is a big blow to OWL
i mean no players, coaches or even the management is the same, just the owners and the franchise name. it's essentially a different team.
