@@xero4035 I think you're underanalyzing. Did you forget that there was a health pack he walked over to grab? He jumped to move his head hitbox because good players don't walk in a straight line, he peeked because he had to, and he threw a turret to block possible damage.

@@cagxplays9602 first of all,jumping makes you easier to hit in a lot of situations. no idea where you got the idea,that if you jump,which is the easiest predictable route of your hitbox,makes you harder to hit. i mean,you cant control your direction midair,nor crouch or anything. thats just stupid in that situation.. and for the health pack,line of sight would have been easily broken with crouch and moving backwards a little,then nobody would have been able to actually have LOS at all. after all he had 9hp,any bodyshot would have killed him at this point. it makes no sense to enlarge the overall visibility of your hitbox (by jumping lowground enemies dont see your legs for example,you change that by jumping) also interesting side note,there is a workshop code by ioStux (ow coach) its an aim trainer basically,but with a great feature -> reset if you jump to break the habit of jumping. thats mainly bc jumping messes up your own aim but also its interesting because that just shows there is a need for a trainer for the habit of jumping. and thats what i think was happening there in that clip,nothing more just a habit,bc if you'd be nitpicking that situation,that jump was risky if you think about the other option (walk back a lil,crouch,break LOS,grab the healthpack would have been 100% safe) also i think he read the fight great in that situation,i think he broke los first (when he dropped to low hp) then when he didnt have their attention (winston engages the people that shot at symm),he threw the turret,grabbed the healthpack and basically was in the fight again. and thats all bc he knew about attention. not bc of that unnecessary jump.

Jumping is incredibly useful and even pro players do it, the difference is that you don't want to be predictable in your movement consistently and you're not jumping for every single action you do. You think not jumping makes you harder to hit? If I play hanzo and i notice that someone is only strafing and not mixing in jumps, it makes it incredibly easy to predict their movement. Not to mention when I have wallhacks on someone, I preaim the corner where their head would be, jumping around the corner would raise your head hitbox above the crosshair of the hanzo/widow etc and you can no longer be easily one shotted as you come out of cover. Thanks for the input, but jumping is perfectly fine in situations and teaching people not to jump at all is just as incorrect as teaching people to only jump strafe. Good players will hit their shots regardless of how you move or jump, so being as unpredictable as possible is the best play, not following some "never jump" guide. I've been gaming my entire life, I will continue to jump where necessary, thanks. It's a really good idea to form your own opinions instead of blindly following some random coaches guide, because even higher level players have incorrect takes. He's not entirely wrong about jumping, but it's situational and things that are wrong in some situations, can be right in others. That was certainly superb Symmetra play and a good analysis. I think it's fair to take into account (and this video is a perfect example) that Sym excels as more of a supportive DPS role with her poke style gameplay as opposed to an aggressive, opener style DPS. It's clearly laid out here as the ally Sojourn or Winston gets the first pick in most team fights while Sym gets none.
Great video! Just one small correction on sym TP, it has a 12s cooldown and 10s lifetime, so it has a 2s downtime between them if you let the 1st one run out naturally
A great analysis. This guy makes playing against Sym a nightmare and the way he uses teleporters so fluidly is incredible. I do like Sym an dusing turret bombs are such a cool dirty trick, but she can be a great tank-buster once her beam gets charge you can melt down most tanks quickly. Couple her with Lifeweaver platforms and Mei walls, and you can do some crazy sh!t I also noticed the Photon Barrier, I mean "Wakanda Forever" was always deployed straight instead of laterally - I can see the tactical advantage in doing so.

1:58 SymmetraMain here, if you let the TP naturally disapear it only has a 1-2 sec cooldown (sometimes the worst second in the life of a Sym) which means he either destroyed it or the enemys destroyed it
I one tricked sym to diamond recently and even tho sym has to try really hard to beat pharah, you can still win against her based on the map. Bc of the way pharah rockets work she cannot destroy 3 spread out turrets as fast as everybody else can. This info comes in handy on certain chokes like eichenwalde 1st bridge where if she flies over it she gets zapped like a bug. Lijang tower which has 2 extremely closed space control points. Etc etc
I find myself letting my team go first and let them deal with it then I fly in. And I tend to try and stay away from to many building or imma become a floor pharah
Yeah, i just shoot pharah out of the sky, it’s good practice to get good aim with her, i almost never miss anymore, also nobody should sleep on the beam, it’s extremely strong on flying characters and can reach farther than you think
on eichenwalde there's like 2-3 different ways for pharah to get around nearly every choke, so if they're dumb and flying close to the first bridge they deserved to get zapped lol

honestly i was mostly suprised at how little he uses left click and chooses to almost always poke instead. one of very few sym playes ive seen be this cautious. altho i want to see what he would do against a good pharah tbh

I main sym, although I'm still new to the game. I agree that I have little issues with most comps, but pocketed phara and pocketed echo are super hard me as sym. I always have to swap hitscan
I personally play Zarya in this way and I don’t really know why but it feels like it helps with aim. It weirdly feels like the jiggling allows for more on-the-fly adjusting of your aim
the one thing I didn't know about sym is that upon using tp ability the location of the portal is set instantly and the time it takes to activate is something to be cautious of
Symm is topping my annoying character to play against tier list. Along side Junk Rat (just bc of the ult), and Widow. Interesting how they’re all damage heroes but there aren’t any other heroes who cause me to sigh as frequently

Notice that he only went to beam level 3 maybe once in the entire match. He doesn't rely on his left click hardly at all. I wouldn't be surprised if he uses the Sojourn trick of rebinding the right and left click.

yup, same here, I was expecting hitscans, pharahs and winstons, but instead there's a match where the enemy heroes are either favorable encounter to sym or neutral... so this is clickbaity as hell
I rarely play sym but whenever I do, i always wish my team would take my tp because i don't even tp to bad location....only good sneaky glitch spots that i know from being reddit lucio main. Like for example, ATK on Kings Row, roll out to place TP behind the bus toward the top of statues head and drop down on unsuspecting team hard. Or let Dva throw her nuclear mech through unaware tp to detonate surprise bomb behind the line.

With all my hours on sym she is definitely your secondary dps. She isn’t going to be leading at the front… but she adds pressure and if you cause patient and can judge the moment tele behind to even take out one support or dps and tele back. Will win a team battle

If your playing in a stack, have your other DPS play hitscan or a support play bap.
Hard counter the hard counter then you have no issues.

i ceiling turret pharas as well, but sometimes the mercy pocketing them kills the turrets which can be annoying somtimes.
