How Did The Atlanta Reign Take Down NYXL? (Again) | Behind The Akshon

- Not one, but two is the number of times that the NYXL have been handed a Defeat come this season at the hands of the Atlanta Reign, but how did this expansion team manage to take down one of the titans of the Overwatch League?
Coming into their second encounter in Stage 2 of the Overwatch League 2019 season, now was the time for the ATL Reign to prove that their unexpected Week 2 victory was not a fluke and that they had the capability to topple a powerhouse team like the NYXL, but the former would not go down without putting up a fight.
While the series may have gone 3-2 in the Reigns' favor things definitely were not as clean as the players would have like as the series featured with questionable positional mistakes and mechanical mishaps in the form of low-value Graviton Surges, to name a few of the errors that swung a fight one what or another.
In today's video, we take a dive into this highly anticipated Stage 2 rematch and analyze the events the unfolded throughout each map to ultimate cumulate in a Reign victory at the end of the day and weaknesses in the NYXL that had been exposed for all to see.

Do you guys believe that the NYXL or Reign can take the Stage 3 title or will we have another Shock vs Titans finals?
I honestly think Dynasty has the best chance.
If GOATS is still meta, there’s no reason why the shock and Titans won’t dominate. If goats dies, I would bet that New York has a very good chance, as they are good enough to play any meta.
I really miss the dive mastership in apex... LTH for the win!
If it's still goats, I don't care. Sadly.
Austin Clubb against the titans and shock? Both of those teams completely crushed the dynasty when they played them
From 11:25 to 12:40 you just nonstop roasted babybay lmao
Because he kept wasting his Ult
*He was eager to secure kills but his team wasn't ready and he didn't know it*
Babybay is a plat chat
The bloody background music and it's sudden changes are amazing. So much hype 😂😂
tbh i laughed but i hated it, it took me out of the video.
*I enjoyed the videos without it, but ether way there's good analysis*
It’s easy: they were overconfident because Dafran was gone
Another smooth video, great job akshon as always
Saavior dafran is a dps player. He is not known to play tank or support. In a goats meta he probably wouldnt have even played
@@BuyMyBeard he actually had played in GOATS meta before he retried from pro scene.
@@BuyMyBeard So is babybay though, isn't he?
@@leonp.2171 not sure, I've never followed OWL religiously. though the latest playoffs were pretty interesting
ANAMO IS A FEEDERRRRR
-Dogman
Ironically Anamo has the least deaths per 10 minutes in the whole league
Omg I loved that part where the zen kicked down the brick wall, very fitting for the character and analysis
"if u kick out one brick the whole thing crumbles down"
not for Shock tho
Or the Titans
@@sirmoros8951 lol
This is the best Vod analysis of overwatch of all the time.. Keep it like this! (pls do vancouver vs shock)
These videos are the best Overwatch league analysis out there, keep it up!
We are happy to hear that you guys are enjoying these :D
@@Akshonesports I can say the same, these videos are awesome
Did you use the green screen in Hollywood for that Zen animation at 1:50?
Haha yeah probably
Good attention to detail ;)
That Zen kick animaion is very nice
I still think dafran is overall a better player than babybay
Both are Mechanically really good
Maybe, but I would be lying if I said I wasn't shocked how well the Reign has been doing even without Dafran.
Dafran stopping wasnt the problem, Babybay messed up sometimes in the beggining but so did Dafran, remeber that Babybay wasnt in stage for a long time. The problem was Daco leaving, if im not mistaken, Daco and Pokpo were a tank duo for the last years, so putting a player that isnt as ready as Daco is already bad, but you also need to think that was even harder for Pokpo.
@@putheo7745 Yeah Daco and Pokpo both played for element mystic in Contendors South Korea
Dude dafran brain is big af.
"Sandbagging" every NYXL stan
No one said that because it doesn’t apply here
"how does one of the most successful teams in OWL lose to newcomers?"
*Vancouver intensifies*
just came back to this, you guys were so good at these analyses. loved watching them back in the days, you came so far 😭
This is so so much better than watching a match it gets straight to the point plus it’s perfect for those who are constantly busy or work , top quality vids too mate..
In the very first fight Mano was booped into reign by masaa. You can see him through the wall and Mano isn’t the guy to randomly feed.
It also shows in the killfeed. I was wondering why they didn't mention it.
I love your game analysis! Always waiting for a new one
The video is just so analysed and good that i watched the entire video forgetting i dont play overwatch
This was an excellent analysis with great visuals!
Amazing analysis as usual
Great analysis, thank you. Keep it up
Thanks!
At 9:55 Daco wasn't saving his self destruct, he literally just didn't have it yet
Edit: I love your analyses and the rest of it seems airtight, this was just something that I felt deserved to be mentioned
Love your videos keep going great :)
Thanks!
amazing!!!
could u do an analysis of NYXL VS TITANS? nyxl's new strat was amazing
10:30
Really akshon you're just gonna make that cliffhanger,
Will Nenne kill the hanzo with basiclly 1hp,
Or will babybay hit a shot?
This is absolutely amazing.
This channel deserves way more subs!
“The Atlanta reign barely let them on point” but they have 89%🤔🤔👍
You can hear dafran from a distance saying.
*LET"S GO DUDE!*
12:11 idk why but Daco spraying the ground and jumping off the cliff is just too funny
As a Reign fan, I enjoyed this video
these explanations are just so good, thx for that 👌👌👌👌😁👍
The way Atlanta plays reminds me of a dive comp but it’s goats
I miss goats, playing against it wasn’t rlly fun but if it was a goats vs goats, it would be so much fun
you missed the play on oasis 1st. masaa was regularly waiting on high to boop mano into the team. it was a boop>stun combo, taking advantage of the new physics changes that defined this match.
Goddamnit. I was pretty confused for a part of this because when you said "The Reign" I thought you meant "The rein" and I was like BUT THE REINHARDT IS DOING NOTHING WHAT ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT?!
1:57 nenne didnt do a mistake he took a wide angle to charge his ult and then massa booped mano into reign and nenne had his bubble on cooldown so no one was able to save mano.
The quality of this video though..
7:11
I recognise that cheeky Jhin ult
Now I want them to analyze the stage 2 finals !!!!!!! Plz
I miss full dives
We all do
When it comes to pro teams of any sport, any given team can beat any other team on ANY day. The difference is not usually between players but between team interactions. The worst team in the league can have their best match whereas the best team can have their worst.
As a Shock fan.
I enjoyed this video.
goats is like a brick wall you take out one piece and the whole things crumble
*laughs in SF shock*
Haha this comes into my feed today
Analyse the Vancouver Titans plz
Love me some Behind the Akshon
Thank you for watching!
0:56 *incase you live under a rock
great vid bud! das
15:23 Ah, yes, the Atlanta Rein
NYXL can't handle the goon energy of Babybay and Dogman
I love this it reminds me of monsters university
May I ask, with respect, why NYXL didn't switch Pine or fl0wer in (and maybe go 222) though? Because the problem is mostly Hanzo and Pharah right?
Mirror Craze what does pine plays on goats comp?
@@kevinnicholas2019 I mean, change from GOATS to something else. Maybe 222, maybe single tank comp, etc. I know Pine can't do much in GOATS :(
Don't care too much about me anyway. I missed Pine and that's all. (Even though I think he can turn the tide in this)
Mirror Craze It’s not worth putting Pine in hoping he would beat pharah and hanzo. Even if he did counter that comp Atlanta would just pick goats and roll nyxl with their less coordinated goats.
sbb could theoretically zarya and he has a decent widow, not a pine widow but a very good one still
In that first play alone, you can see that reign weren't just waiting for a big misplay, they were looking for any opportunity to aggress. Here, the opportunity got created by masaa going in from the left and BOOPING Mano into the reign who take him apart in less than a second like a swarm of piranhas. Mano didn't do a traditional Positioning mistake, but NYXL failed to identify masaa as a threat and therefore he was free to displace their Reinhardt.
“They got a crucial pick on Amano”
In my opinion babybay is a big weak spot atlanta didn't have in the first stage. He really has to work on his team play and gravs
yay now I’ll beat the nyxl next time I play them
Anyone else catch around 15:24 when he said "... because Rein's DVA flew into him..." instead of Reign. 😂
They need to make headsets for each of the teams and release them for people to buy.
0:45 Baehhbebae
The reason they lost was that they needed a hitscan to remove Atlanta reigns pharah but no one was flexible enough to control that
Can you do a behind the Ashkon on SanFranciso Shock v Vancouver Titains Blizzard world please.
me who’s never played any of these games: ah yes, nyxl zenyatta reign strategy damage, indeed
I think goats I’d fun to watch because of these matches.
Awesome
So what I'm seeing here is the usual Goats vs. Goats?
"And they catch anamo again."
Improvise adapt overcome
Or not in NYXL’s case...
BabyBay....first Shocker (former) to beat NYXL :)
As a reign fan, I approve
overconfidence is a flimsy shield
make analisys of vencuver vs ny, it was really close match
Anamo sweatin watching this video
I guess you could say that Atlanta “flexed” of NYXL.
at 1:50 zen should have kicked off Brig because "if you kick off one BRIG"
RIP Goats
Why does the reign logo look like the team valor logo from pokemon go
A two-man shatter = throwing it into a shield. Why you gotta do Pokpo like this :(
Feelsnyxlman
Awesome as always.. Blizzard NEED to endorse you in some shape or form, keep it up"...
They do, they gave them permission to make and advertised their highlight reels
@@eatherjourneyman8357 Is that an endorsement? Lemme check a dictionary...
goats is actually best to represent overwatch and is fun to watch
change my mind
HE'S BAAAAAACK
Why does goats just seem like a Rock Paper Scissors meta
You do realize the entirety of overwatch is just a huge game of rock paper scissors, right? Its the same thing with every composition, goats is just the strongest option on almost every map if done correctly
GOOD JOB BABYBAAAY
Im from ATL and I approve! Lets go REIGN
Nyxl is masters of punishing
Its the bowl cut
11:54 if he had good bubbles that and had high charge, he couldve killed both supports and it wouldve been even.
Proud of Antlanta Reign!
This is why I miss Pine.
How Atlanta beat NYXL
Pine was gone
15:21 Whose Dva??
Gooooos joooob babybaaaay
I feel like any comp crumbles in a 5v6. Anyone in ranked know that a 6v5 is simply a landslide victory. In GOATS it's just that nobody ever really dies alone cuz you have so much sustain.
Dive / hitscan does ok as long as you can go pick for pick and level the playing field. Saw a lot of that last season and of course the infamous Carpe 1 v 4
2:40 they literally almost have 4 😂
2:32 "The NYXL on the other hand have almost none" and by "almost none" you of course mean "almost 4" given that both Zarya and Rein had theirs and Dva and Lucio were both less than 15% away.
It's like they say: never let the facts get in the way of a good story.
Finally
The first game, nyxl didn't have time to prepare for Atlanta as they played Philadelphia the day before. Idk what went wrong the second time
Would of been way easier with Aimbot man (Dafran)
they took advantage of nyxl mistakes
