    For 32 years of my life, we lived by my husband's calendar. It was a paper book from the dollar store, but it worked. One day we had a scouting event, my daughter's birthday, and a scout dinner all at once. It was a crazy day, but everything got done. Now with my husband gone and my children grown, I am working on my own method of planning, so your video was a big help.

    12:26 "I'm choosing not to make the time" makes so much sense. Every time when I make myself a new routine, I always feel overwhelmed and guilty because there is so much that I want to do, but I can't cause I'm prioritizing other things. Choosing not to make the time means I still have control over what I am doing every day and I'll make time for something else in the future.

    This is amazing. I grew up with this method because that's what my school in Portugal gave us at the beginning of every year. One A4 sheet with the whole year laid out with all our assignments and holidays on it. When I moved to the UK it was so odd to me that students didn't receive anything like this and I've been doing this for years now, specially in uni. Great video! More people should do this!

    I have found as someone with bad ADHD that I don’t block out breaks, I block out time to do things with the understanding that I’m going to pomodoro whatever I’m doing. (Do something for 30 minutes then break for five, repeat for 3-4 cycles then take a 30 minute break). From work to study to cleaning my house I use this method and man is it a life changer. Also if I’m really into a subject I can skip/push back breaks, but I can’t push back or skip the work.
    Personally if I have an hour to work then an hour for break my mind can’t ramp up for the work and can’t calm down for the break. Find what works for you, you got this ❤

      the Kingdom of GOD is coming…“Silver is for the kettle, and gold for the furnace, but The LORD is the tester of hearts- Bible” your heart is like discovered silver, dirty and not pure, when silver is purified it is melted over and over, to the point that when it’s melted and glows red hot, it is pure enough to see your own reflection in the puddle, so also does the LORD purify your heart, till HE can see HIS own reflection in it, seek the LORD and be reborn, ask The LORD to renew and restore you, repent and be baptized for the forgiveness of sins, Jesus died so that our sins will be wiped away and so that we could be made new, seek The Kingdom of GOD for if you would be wise you would be wise for yourself, pick up your cross and deny your flesh and follow the path of GOD, for The Kingdom of GOD is at hand, in JESUS MIGHTY NAME Amen and Amen 🙏

    I’ve always hated how so many time management methods require everything to be on separate pages where I can never see everything at once. I have terrible object permanence because of my adhd so planners were always the worst because of this! I’ve been using methods similar to this and they’re the only thing that’s ever worked for me. It’s so amazing for you to make proper templates for people to use for those of us who have terrible organization but still need it to manage :’)

    • @KiraFriede
      @KiraFriede Рік тому +3

      I think, you mean something else by object permanence. Having no object permanence would mean, you think, someone doesn't exist anymore when they leave the room.

    • @ellieem4716
      @ellieem4716 9 місяців тому +7

      @@KiraFriede I believe it was used correctly, as object permanence pertains to many things - objects, people, responsibilities, etc. It's not that we "think" someone doesn't exist when they leave the room, but more of an "out of sight, out of mind" kind of thing, with anything related to object permanence. It's not that we forget they exist or never think about them (which would be FAR from accurate), but we very easily forget about things, including people sometimes, in regards to reaching out to them or doing something that we meant to or wanted to do for them. We know they exist, we just get "lost" in all the other stuff our brains are thinking about - objects to keep track of, appointments and schedules, endless to-do tasks (both big and small), the almost constant flow of random ideas, thoughts, worries, and all the *other* people in our lives!! It becomes so overwhelming to keep it all straight and remember every single thing at the priority level that we should. Our brains think differently, which is sometimes a blessing and sometimes a curse, but everyone who legitimately has it understands how extremely difficult it can be to manage at times. And the symptoms for it, whether for kids or adults, differ for each person as well as the degree of each of those symptoms.

    This is the best video on creating schedules I've seen by far. I have ADHD, so sticking to things is very difficult for me as I get bored or fatigued easily, I also have other health issues. I started a journal and was doing pretty good about it but was taken off my medication as it was making some of my current health issues worse so I stopped journaling for a while. What I really like about this is how it really appeals to my perfectionism as well as spontaneity while also helping me stay organized, and is easy to access as long as I don't break or lose my phone. I have found a few small journals that work pretty well as thry are double sided, one side is dotted and the other side lined, or you can get them with different sections that are lined, blank and dotted, but my only concern with them is just like with my phone, if I lose them...

    I have been using year at a glance for years, it's the only thing in my bullet journal that has been consistent, no matter how little I have used it. (Some years almost none). It is really one of the best things I know.
    I learned about perfect week in 2022, and I'm using it this year, but now with a lot more knowledge of what i need and like to do. I know how long my commute takes, what is realistic and unrealistic, and know i have to prioritize having a lot of leisure time, otherwise I will get demotivated or use my productive time for leisure. I think also it is important for those of us who have a normal 9-5 job to not use this calendar for job related tasks. I have my own callendar for what i do during work hours, but in my ideal week i have just blocked off 9-5 mon-fri for "work", and then plan the rest of my week around that. It makes me feel more in control of my week, as I'm not in control of my workdays.

    The Year View is a game changer, I added a column at the end of each month where I can simply add the color code I already use in all of my other planning to denote which major area of my life the item fits in (Primary Job, Secondary Project, Personal, Grandson, Scouts each have their own color) I find this helps me keep everything uniform and allows me to see my work/life balance at a glance. -- Yes, I could have added this color coding to the date column, but I used that to show which days each month I actually have my grandson!

It's like all wheel drive, or like the expression all hands on deck, because in a way it really does allow you to be more efficient and intentional in your tasks, productivity and overall life. It's like being the most efficient at grip, like an all-wheel-drive car.

    We don’t all have the same hours in the week. For many of disabled people we simply don’t have the same useful hours, because our conditions mean we just can’t *use* those hours. I have fewer useful hours than a healthy person, so can’t do as much. That’s the reality. It’s so frustrating when people say we all have the same hours, because although sure, that time *exists*, that doesn’t actually help people’s day to day lives. I work, I’m self employed, time management is important, but when everything assumes good health and consistent levels of energy or the ability to push through periods of lower energy, it’s even harder to find methodologies that help. I have an energy limiting fluctuating illness - I need to be able to be super flexible and responsive and that makes planning ahead almost impossible.

Not for people with a 40h job and/or kids on top. Look for daily maintenance things that make sense for you (i.e. instead of "shining the sink", I make sure that before I go to bed, the kitchen is in good condition - who cares about one crumb in the sink...).

Don't know if you know this or not but, if you add the word "copy" to the end of a Google Sheet URL, it will automatically prompt the user to create a copy of the sheet when they click on the link, essentially "forcing" them to make a new version of the sheet instead of directly editing the original one. Much easier than explaining to people how to make a copy or to take the chance on them messing up your google sheet! Cheers!
