    I have some delft over tofu, and a lentil/split pea mix, and this has given me the inspiration to make some tofu, lentil, maybe some chickpea meatballs!

    Thanks for this. I’m going to make these tonight. My eight-year-old daughter is a vegetarian and we only eat meat occasionally throughout the week so I’m looking for new recipes to expand. These will be delicious.

      Hi there! How did they turn out? I haven't had too much feed back on these veg meatballs, but these are one of my favourites! Any trouble making them? Thanks for watching.❤

    Great video! Thank you 🙏 some questions if you have the time? (1) Can you also cook the lentils in advance? Or is it better to just soak them? (2) what does the baking soda and potato starch do? (3) if you freezed these would you cook them in advance or after?

    • @Ireneathanasiou
      @Ireneathanasiou  3 роки тому +2

      Hey, Libby! Great questions! You could cook the lentils in advance but I think that would be an extra step that isn't really necessary. These are split red lentils and by soaking them you are activating the nutrients inside the lentil and removing phytates which block the absorption of nutrients. After the appropriate soaking time they become very soft and cook easily.
      The baking soda gives it a bit of body while the potato starch helps to hold the lentil meatballs together.
      I have never tried freezing these before but I imagine you could possibly freeze them before cooking.
      I hope that helps! ❤️❤️❤️
