Wow. I imagined now plating these lentil balls in quartered bell pepper boats. All colors, red, green, yellow. Real party for both taste buds and eyes.
Great tips and I love the balls options. I am English married to a Turk, we live in southern Turkey. You have helped me a lot in cooking Turkish foods, your videos are very well edited and I love your recipes!
OK, so my family is now obsessed with these! I made the traditional shape but also the 'cool' balls rolled in sesame, sumac and zaatar. Repeated 2 days later to take to a friends party where they were a huge hit. Many thanks 😍
As someone who eats primarily plant based, I love how many vegan and vegetarian recipes you publish. I suspect I should be thanking Bahar’s influence! 💕
A Turkish friend taught me how to make this YEARS ago - and it has become a firm favourite! These patties make GREAT party food just on the lettuce leaves but rolling them into coated balls takes them to a whole new WOW level - so *THANK-YOU Refika!!* I've found the paste can happily be made the day before but leave the herbs to the day of serving. We have also used leftovers in burgers and wraps - versatile, delicious and healthy!! Next time though any leftovers will definitely get the 'fried patties' treatment. YUM!!
I love this channel.... I am learning all my Babanna's recipes . She has been gone for 15 years, - watching your video's is like being with my Nurten Teyze in her kitchen watching her cook. Thank you.
This is really delicious. I made it with just the oil for frying the onions, and didn't knead it as much as Refika did, and it was terrific, despite my laziness and the much lower fat content. Thanks so much for this fast and easy healthy recipe!
My mum always made a red onion, tomato and sumac salad with even more chopped parsley, olive oil and lemon juice and its great dipping the köftes in this salad.

Thank you once again for sharing your recipe. Sending prayers and love to you and your crew and your family and to Turkey God bless ❤
I’m Armenian. We do not wrap the keofte in lettuce. We dip them in a salad made of tomatoes, red or yellow onions, parsley and fresh mint diced very finely, and some lemon juice as a dressing. No olive oil. It’s sooo good! Of course, naturally, we have integrated a lot of dishes into the Turkish cuisine as we have cohabitated for centuries. Too bad I can’t eat keofte bc I can’t eat bulgur or any kind of grain. 😊
I made it today. OMG. We could not stop eating them. Thank You, for all your great recipes. I watch both, in Turkish and English. I looooove the Scenes of Istanbul. Gurbetlik zor. Keep up the Great Job!!

Just the recipe I wanted. I love all your recipes and you make them so easy to do. I am so sorry if last week my comments came across as arrogant being English speaker firstly, I can assure that was not my intention. Your English is amazing I don't know how you do it, you are so fluent. Your personality is the shining star as are all your wonderful team. I love you all. ❤❤❤❤ I have had Turkish tea and really enjoyed it. I maybe old but not past trying your wonderful recipes although I can no longer have much chilli. Bye for now beautiful girl and will see you next week ❤🙂💐
Just finished making these and they are delicious! I found the really fine bulgur at my supermarket. I already had some and it was much coarser and I can see why the fine version would be better. These taste surprisingly "meaty" and I think any meat lover would enjoy them. I was going to make a double batch, but didn't have enough ingredients and I'm glad now that I didn't...this makes a LOT. I am going to try freezing some of them to see how that works. I think it would be wonderful to have some on hand when I don't feel like cooking. Thanks so much for this, Refika!
If I need to be encouraged to feel happy ........I just watch your cooking videos and immediately I am on Top of the world! You have such a wonderful personality and the food you cook looks absolutely Delicious! ❤ From Johannesburg South Africa .
There is a similar dish we make in India, with cumin, black pepper and ginger. We use the Mung lentils traditionally for this with lots of clarified butter instead of olive oil. Lentils and rice traditionally, but the healthier version I do is with Bulgur. Adding other spices and veggies are optional and are also regional variations. Personally I enjoyed this video! Good job Refika!
Love all your recipes ❤ I just discovered a local restaurant that serves Turkish food! Felt so good tasting kofte and falefal last week ❤ lots of lov from Vanuatu 🇻🇺 and I love Sel Cal Kapimi 😁 ❤

I have tried unsuccessfully to get into lentils: dahl, curry, burgers. But these köftes are amazing! Many thanks
Beautiful recipe! I love naturally vegan dishes! Thank you for this recipe. God bless you, dear Refika. 🙏🏼
Vegan recipes are helping me so much in my spiritual practice. ❤
Such a refreshing and unique recipe. Reminded me of a lukhnawi dish I make called monshiya. It is lentil kofta with gravy.
Refika, I love your recipes but also you are so sweet. It's fun watching you. Love your accent. Thanks again.
This must be delicious 😍 I imagine fried version would be even better!
Thank you Refika I am very fond of you and the others. I like your presentation. Take care Refika blessings to you all.
Thank you, from California ❤ I subscribed because I have LOVED every recipe I have ever watched of yours.
Did it work to freeze?
Yes, it did. The texture of mine changed a bit, but the flavor was the same. @@bulent2435
I live with a vegetarian, and I'm the house cook-

My kitchen has gotten way more interesting since suscribing
I completely love your vegan recipes
Some great tips on what to do with lentils, thank you.
If I need to be encouraged to feel happy ........I just watch your cooking videos and immediately I am on Top of the world! You have such a wonderful personality and the food you cook looks absolutely Delicious! ❤ From Johannesburg South Africa .
Thank you for sharing this delicious recipe! I made it 2 weeks in a row. It's even better with some pomegranate molasses 😊
I must say your recipes are very good. I love this recipe. Will definitely try it. Very healthy.
My Anush nana used to make this and many other delicious dishes such as , chi kofte, bulgur salad itch, icli kofte etc. It was so delicious . Miss her so much . She went to the Other side 2 years ago at 101 age . Luys ijni gerezmanin
What can I say about this? The Vegan version of its tastes so much better than the version with meat!
Good Job RefikaCan
A day late watching this due to time management 😩( torturous for such a Refika fan) Your sincerity regarding your AI presentation was lovely and made me so relieved and happy🥰 Your presence is like tonic for the soul.
Thank-you for this video- yet another fantastic recipe- full of enthusiasm, team spirit and passion for your cuisine. Keep well and can’t wait for next Saturday‼️😁💃🏼
That looks so delicious plus your kitchen is cheerful and your view of the sea is beautiful. Bless you for all your videos ❤
I started to watching your program during Covid and have tried so many of your dishes. Thank you for bringing these wonderful flavours into our lives. So tonight for us it's Koftes. 🇦🇺
