Thank God we lived when they did, I don't think there will ever be music like this again. At the time I think we took it for granted and thought we'd always have music like this.
Very true, country music isn’t the same anymore
@@blakep4329 REAL MUSIC AND SPEACH !!
It's too bad Waylon Jennings & Johnny Cash aren't alive, anymore...
Imagine the ovation that The Highwaymen would get playing 'A Silver Stallion' at a concert, now in mid-2024, for example.
A masterpiece. If you’re listening to this from September 2022 onwards then you’re a legend. You still know great music. And you’re my friend. 🙌
Thank you.
From Argentina ...i love them.
Discovered them in 2020, I listen everyday.

I’m 20 years old. But I know this:
There’s more talent on this stage than there is in country today.
lmao very true. how did you find this music if ur only 20?
It’s all I’ve known.
Steady on it’s not a competition like.
Sad but true.
49 year old bloke listening to this with tears in my eyes and I ain't got a clue why, it's just got me some way.
It feels nostalgic even though I've never heard it before TwT
Love these talented entertainers!
It’s that lead melody on guitar that does it for me. It’ll grab you.
Memories will get you everytime!
Same here bud. Its beautiful!
We will NEVER hear this Song performed like this again EVER!! ❤️❤️🙏
Waylon and Johnny are out there RIDING that Silver Stallion Forever!! An HONOR to be listening to this IN THE COMPANY OF ALL OF YOU HERE!’ THANK YOU ❤️❤️💞
The best boyband the world has ever seen.
Yee - Haw! Well said!
DON't be so PC. THIS are M E N.
Lmaoooo
Maestros de maestros , saludos desde chile
It's an insult to call them a "boy band"
I’m in my 30’s. I saw this entire concert for the first time when I was about 17 on DVD. I still have that dvd and play it often when I’m doing things around the house. Yes I still have a dvd player 😂
The Highwaymen are the the best tractor music ever. Bailing hay and listening to these legands is like heaven on earth. The small of the hay, the birds flying around. An honest days work to provide. Perfect.
They should play this on the radio. It's BS they don't. New music doesn't measure up to this great art
First time to listening this music and I think is a masterpiece ( I'm 26 years old from Paraguay)
Reggie was an absolute legend!
No auto tune , no bullshit. Just pure talent
4 Legends ❤️
old rabbits
And love of art, and fraternity, and poetry, and...
Exactly!
npc
No, there is a bit of autotune, listen closely!
The voice of Kris is so nice in this performance.
HES SO SEXY I CANT
I love the way he rolls his S's.
Isn’t it though!! I’m always struck by that too listening to this song because out of all of Kris’ prodigious talents his voice could sometimes not be the strongest but HERE HE SHINES!! ❤️
Am late to the party but this is the best band there has ever been, 47 and these singers just make me emotional
1:11 Why is Waylon SO cool? The way he looks as he sways into his verse.
RIP
Waylon Jennings
Johnny Cash
Reggie Young
What an amazing group of legends to be together. So much talent. Gosh I miss the days music was music.
Country music will NEVER be this good again..
Never. Country music Is not as good now as it was then. We need another Waylon:/Willie to stir things up.
I spending 3 years during covid pandemy in Netherlands, hiding in forest listening The Highewayman. Salute to them
I’ll finish this 2023 listening to this fantastic song. Happy new year 2024 everybody 🎉🎉🎉🎉
What America is all about. True greatness. The country boys will always survive.
This song gives me flashbacks on my whole life, it’s just an amazing masterpiece❤
I could listen to Reggie Young play all day. Underrated guitar player.
RIP Reggie YOUNG!
Yess he's so cool
The Best...
He is amazing! One of the best!
A stellar guitar player.
I love Willie, Johnny, Waylon and Kris, but I gotta say I miss the instrumentals from this time in music. Back when bands actually had people who really played. Just pure nostalgia.
That glance back by Kris 🤠
Listening to this while working from a cabin in the north of Sweden. I'm gonna chase the sky forever 🙏
Who can’t love these men?
Brilliant sadly will never perform again
Was introduced to the highwaymen when I was 7 years old, turning 17 next year, never gon stop loving the classics
Im 29 years old, born 1993 but i love this kind of music..for me it doesnt get old
Your a blessed soul for ear and talent at it's apex
Im 19 and same, the lyricism and vibe of this songs is timeless
Cash is my all time favorite but Waylon live is so great. Wish I was born earlier so that I could see all these legends live in person
I will die happy because I got to see them all, together and apart. LOVE ME SOME OUTLAWS!!!!!
At the same time I'm glad we have modern technology to immortalize these legends
I’m only 20 man and I feel like I’m the only person in my friend group who understands how talented this super group was
Same here. We can still see Willie and Kris live though
Jesus Died For You I actually saw Willie live last year he was awesome even at 86
Hard rock girl…
Didn’t know I loved country until I heard this
That shows good taste.
the traveling wilburys of country music .no egos, no attitude, no one upmanship. just admiration for each other and their craft. Very Cool.
Amen you are a good judge of real character in folks that is just like you and me
Willie, Waylon and the boys. Not enough appreciation for these legends anymore. God bless the highwaymen.
Real music, real musician's, raw talent... legends. 2024. ❤
Definitely
Reggie young playing the guitar makes the sound the sound even better 👍
Say what you want to about the studio version of 'A Silver Stallion':
This live version from 1990 was much better, in my opinion.
I want to give BILLIONS of likes. RIP Johny Cash, June Cash, Waylon Jennings. True music !!
Before boy bands, we had the Highwaymen 😍
The Beatles, the Beach Boys
Sad to think that all these guys are more than 30 years older!!! They’re still my ‘best friends’!!!
Arguably one of the best songs they all performed together, the whole concert! I watch and enjoy it often 💜 RIP Waylon and Johnny 💔
Just call him Johnny he changed his name to that for a reason
@@brian5128 thanks for pointing that out. Correct much? Wow
Brian What?

5 51am
Reggie young what a man r.I.p.
Love this song and the band the best
The 52 thumbs down wished they were Highwaymen!
I started playing the video game red dead online and the first horse I stole was a silver stallion, its actually grown old now grey hair like its time is over I called it smoke, heard this song 👌 perfect
I love how there’s four people holding guitars on that stage. But they still need a backing musician to play the opening riff 🤣
One of my favourites - I absolutely love Waylon's verse and his shrug at 1:35, such an effortless and charismatic singer, guitarist, performer, you name it. They don't make em like Hoss anymore.
Totally agreed how about his little guitar licks on his verse that he sings what a legend
He was one in a million. He loved women. A total stud.
This is badass as fuck. Probably the most significant event, sonically speaking, to ever impact any of our lives. But maybe it's just me..
You can tell Waylon was having fun
He was top 5 best singers in country music, he sounds exactly like his studio recordings he was great
Idsay waylon was some craic as the irish wud say
Given the way Waylon acted when singing his part methinks he is the one who came up with the lyrics regarding the woman's thighs. Ha. Ha.
And Johnny was still healthy and happy.
I love each of them love this song listening 2023
Good old Waylon Jennings 😎, remember him coming home in West Texas, most July 4th,and sing ,,great man, family, and songs..great music 🎶
when music was real
Just heard this for the first time at 38. Listened to it on repeat for 4 hours. So good
I found this gem years ago and loved it, and thinking now in Red Dead Redemption 2 you developed a bond with your horse and putting the two together this is what it's like, you sometimes have to ride like the jack of diamonds with the devil close behind, and the horse trust you like a brother the more you bond.
Those dudes playing instruments are boss at what they do, they dont get much recognition but they are excellent at their job
Reggie Young at the Tele is definitely the right guy for this job
The lead guitarist is reggie young lol. He was pretty damn well recognized for his contributions to the music world.
@@Turbo0bill damn Skippy
Those dudes are the "Memphis Boys", they recorded with the biggest singers you can imagine. Aretha Franklin, Willie Nelson, Neil Diamond, Elvis Presley and many others. In this concert they are Gene Chrisman (drums), Mike Leech (bass), Reggie Young (guitar), Bobby Wood and Bobby Emmons (keyboards). Except for the Memphis Boys, in this concert is Mickey Raphael, the long-time harmonica-player of Willie Nelson, Robby Turner on pedal steel guitar and J. R. Cobb (rhythm guitar and background vocals).
Johnny Cash and Willie Nelson not recognized. 😛
Worlds best live consert ever
It's like fly and freedom
Using up all of my battery power but I don’t care!! Can’t stop listening to this Concert!!
This is a wonderful performance of the classic travelin' song. These four, and the great band, made my evening some 33 years after this recording. Thank y'all !💜🌈
I close my eyes and think about driving through the southwest desert at sunset, windows down and this playing. It’s just a settling feeling. Relaxing.
I love your IMAGERY listening to this song! It’s Perfect!
The sun is gonna burn into a cinder
Before we ever pass this way again
I love you dad
That's what I call real music!
Written by my old friend Lee Clayton; what a awesome song you wrote Lee and The Highwaymen do it proud-although I still listen to you singing it after all these years! Cheryl from Lou Adler's office for 20+ years!
Cheryl--Great. I wish I knew more about him. I only learned about Lee and got into his music because of the Highwaymen. I hope he made some decent royalties from the Highwaymen record.
If you know Lee, maybe you can ask him about the second verse, which Waylong sings here. The lyric sites all say: "I'm gonna find me a reckless woman/ With razor blades and dice in her eyes." Common sense tells me the real lyric has to be "With razor blades and ICE in her eyes." I've heard o an icy stare, but never a dicey stare. I think Lee sang it with a hard "d" at the end of "and" and lyric transcribers mistakenly attached it to "ice" and made it "and dice." Waylon also sings it with a hard "d" making it sound like "and dice," but Istill think it's "ice."
What a supergroup. long live outlaw country
Trash Days want talent? Here it is.
@@sherrysetliff2502 who u?
msw51995 someone who likes great music.
I am a middle person and hard rock person but these guys will always make me listen to their stuff. I miss the ones that have left us the young folks coming up are trying to understand this but they ain't quite got it. And I think it will never be the same again in music without these guys that I have left us
I’m a hard rock girl too, would ever claim to like country, but this is a masterpiece.
R.i.P johnny R.Cash
What an amazing guitar player Reggie Young is,
The 5th Highwayman if I might say!
Desde Buenos Aires, Argentina hace una semana que descubrí estos videos de este recital, fueron y serán maravillosos, que placer y que emoción verlos.- La banda de músicos espectacular!!!
When waylon starts singing😩👌🏻
I was born too late to see them live but I am glad that it is possible to watch all these videos
They dont make America like this no more
The Nassau coliseum one is the greatest concert ever...
This version is a masterpiece !!!!
I was at this show.
I love 'em all, but Waylon, more than the others, seemed to embrace the whole Highwaymen concept. He gestured and talked to the audience, made jokes at his own and everyone's expense, and got the crowd into it. Without Waylon taking on the role on an MC, it would have just been 4 singers singing their own songs and a few collaborations.
highnrising yeah
Waylon was a highwayman long before this group formed, we'll never see a supergroup like this again soo much talent on one stage
Waylon - always the coolest guy in the room ;)
He once introduced the Highwaymen with the following quote: my name's Waylon, his ain't, his ain't and his ain't. That's all you need to know." Love that so much
Him and Johnny always seems to be joking around in the background on all the songs when they're not singing
Greatest artists and together pure magic...
Willies hair was kickass here!!! That’s a Texas mullet
Yep lol
What? Norway loves you guys, please have a show here!!!!
Another awesome song I played many times during my road-trips; that's just the perfect song for driving in the wide open spaces of the American West!
You are so Damn RIGHT
This could very well be their best song. It's too haunting for words to describe.
Written by the great great Lee Clayton.
I agree, this is just a smooth, super easy listening to song. I love this song.
HAUNTING ? man, we need a dictionary. I love this song tho
It IS haunting and Poignant (how’s that for a dictionary?) because 2 of these LEGENDS are gone now, but their MAGIC lives on in their musical LEGACY with songs like this!! So YES I agree completely with the person who called it Haunting!
Hey Darren. That's nice to say. I got to thinking that Southern Rock is really just Country. I always loved All kinds of music, but I have to say that darn hip hop threw me for a loop.
Aug 21,2023,kat
Just wish they were here today to thank them !
Had a smile on my face from start to finish 👍
The four men have a great quality at their voices. They sing superbly. RIP Johnny and Waylon.
They are RIDING that Silver Stallion out there FREE!! ❤️❤️
Best version of this song
respect to everyone wearing cowboy boots the entire show, their dogs had to be barking by the end!
The rez wudve never been the rez without this band ❤ made my childhood ✨
Wow ! music royalty right there.
I'm pretty sure these guys could have sung from the phone book together and it would have sounded great and touched souls.
This is so incrediubly beautiful, these kinds of songs will make huge comebacks as some us get more traditional.
I love u dad!!!!
Oh! You fortunate people; to have been present at one of these shows. Collectively and individually; ABSOLUTE LEGENDS!
I never get tired of their talent. God bless Willy!
So much talent in this group.
I wish this concert was on vinyl. I'd buy it in a heartbeat!
There will never be that much talent on one stage ever again
Great times - I remember all the different independent radio stations playing this . Would hear it cruising to work . If I could only go back to then . 70s & 80s was great times .
Weren’t they JUST!! I’d go back in a heartbeat!
Being 16 i wish i had the chance to see this, this is real music real country i wish i had the chance to see all the greats
The Outlaw always has the coolest lines out of the Highwaymen
Boże dziękuję ci za country i Highwaymen. God Bless America, respect from Poland
I only saw Willie. Kris live would be great and wish the other 2 were possible.
Johnny & Waylon still on that starship in '21 & forever! GOATs
just a great song .. amazing vibe.. makes me think i am born too late. would have loved to see these legends live...
Yeah, that's what I say. I born definitely to late!?
