This is pure classic country. All are gone except Willie. All will never be forgotten. Great music with loved memories. RIP , Kris, Johnny, Waylon. Gone but not forgotten!!!!
I listened ro these legends when i was in high school. No pyrotechnics, no autotune or lip synch. Anyone of them could take their guitar, sit on a stool and transfix an audience for as long as they wanted. But combined, they were a force of nature that will never be equalled .
This is just pure, raw talent without all the extra crap. Just easy and natural. Willie Nelson is one of the best artists, song writers and musicians of all time.
My first concert was late for my generation. I saw Garth brooks and it cost me $25 through the fort. He couldn’t hold a tune as he jumped around the stage amid the smoke. Not my style. But Clapton or Billy Joel, no smoke, no mirrors just raw talent. I’m so disappointed I didn’t know country music during this brief period when “The Absolute Legends”, imho, were touring. Oh my! What a concert that had to have been! I’m absolutely not jealous of anyone who got to see them in concert. I’m happy for them. 😂😂
It always makes me smile right at the beginning when Kris comes marching onto the stage just as the song begins! He's still connecting his guitar as Willie begins singing. I guess it is a simple example of how well they all got on and how comfortable they all felt with each other. As many, many others have said many, many times - how could any group of musicians ever be better than these four?
Good observation! I hadn't noticed until you pointed it out. I re-watched it a few times and figured out that he was doing a guitar swap. For a split second right at the very beginning you can see Kris handing off a guitar to someone in the shadows and then he turns and picks up a second guitar from a stand on stage, which he then plays for the rest of the song.
Every time I watch The Highwaymen, I am impressed. I am impressed at the bunch of backing players and singers, all working together to make a big, full sound and all live. And I am particularly impressed that these four legends seem to happily share a stage, and far from fighting, seem to calm down and have fun because none of them has to carry the whole show like they each do when performing solo.
Love the way Waylon looks watching Willie as he plays the guitar solo. It's so much more than simple admiration. You can tell he loved him as a brother in the music!
Anyone who was there to see this was truly blessed cause these 4 were the heart of country music then and never realized they all 4 would be America's legends for decades to come and generations after generations still as loved as the night those 4 took the stage.🌹🤜🏻🤛🏼🇺🇸🙏🏻✝️✅⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐😎

The best damn train song ever written, sung by four amazing artists. Song written by Steve Goodman, who was gone too soon, and made famous by Arlo Guthrie. Brings tears to my eyes every time I hear it.

This iconic guitar called Trigger. 99% of people would trow that at a dumbster, but it have such a special sound to it. Amazing. It's a classical guitar with nylon string and not a western.
Steve Goodman's mammoth classic song! "City of New Orleans." What a great version! Almost as good as Arlo's live version... Well, maybe even better! (Never thought I'd say that)! That mouth harp guy really makes you feel the rumblin' of the wheels 'neath the floor! And catch the three-part harmony of Waylon, Johnny, and Kris on the phrase "... Orrrrrleans..."! Beautiful!

@@willienelson4964 thank you Willie for the years of entertainment as you have gotten me through some tough times listening to your songs whilst commercial fishing in treacherous waters in Australia over the past 50 years. Love you Mate.

Man. I don't know there will ever be a group with such incredible songwriting talent together again. The Traveling Wilburys had this level of incredible talents, but the Highwaymen just hit different... What I'd give to be able to have been in this room....
I may be Canadian but I love this and cant get enough , hope all ye south of the boarder are staying safe and by the way there is nothing wrong with feeling patriotic towards ones country and there is nothing more patriotic than this , God Bless America
i like the way you feel between Canada and the States
Your a good man Gary. God Bless
May God bless you and your fine country, Gary. Some of the friendliest people over there. George from thumb of Michigan
when it comes to "USA first" or "Germany, germany about everything" it is going insane..
Feel the same down here in ole New Zealand
Waylon watching Willie play the old battered guitar with HUGE admiration is high praise from one artist to another.
Trigger is the name of Willie's guitar
Priceless
That's Trigger. It's a legend.
for sure you can see Hoss Waylon admiring Willie play just in aaah
Love the way Waylon watches Willie play his guitar solo🥲
This iconic guitar called Trigger. 99% of people would trow that at a dumbster, but it have such a special sound to it. Amazing. It's a classical guitar with nylon string and not a western.
This is the comment I came looking for :)
In every song that Willie does a solo he does that lol, can see why it gives me goosebumps the way that guitar sounds ❤️
Me too!!
@@chloeleedow7250 play boxcar Willie winds of yesterday
Steve Goodman's mammoth classic song! "City of New Orleans." What a great version! Almost as good as Arlo's live version... Well, maybe even better! (Never thought I'd say that)! That mouth harp guy really makes you feel the rumblin' of the wheels 'neath the floor! And catch the three-part harmony of Waylon, Johnny, and Kris on the phrase "... Orrrrrleans..."! Beautiful!
Only once in a life time will you find this incredible talent under one roof.
I love the friendly & deeply respectful looks these 4 men give each other through this performance. You could tell that they were having fun.

Absolutely one of the best renditions of possibly one of the greatest songs ever composed. What a gift from song-writer Steve Goodman and something that has immortalized this great talent.
Man I love how they admire eachother. Just look at how Kris smiles all the time, its sick
I know they sure do rock the songs
They are the most

@@t23682 most amazing guitar player, people should Google him
"And the sons of Pullman porters, and the sons of engineers, ride their fathers' magic carpet made of steel..." --Steve Goodman (best line he ever wrote).
Gives me chills to hear it sung every time
"... Through the Mississippi darkness rollin' down to the sea" is great, too!
I never thought much of Willie's vocals until I saw him with the Highwaymen. I am now convinced that you are a legend Willie. The Highwaymen would not be The Highwaymen without you.
Amen brother
All 4 were legends on their own
A series of Fox News exit polls on Friday showed that 72% of respondents wanted a government-run healthcare plan. » ua-cam.com/video/u66vugCH2QE/v-deo.html » These polls aren’t the most rigorous out there, but they continue to add evidence to the fact that Medicare for All isn’t actually an unpopular idea.
R.I.P Chris you were magic , so loved your singing 🙏🙏🙏❤️
Can’t stop listening to 4 guys that ooze charisma and testosterone.
Oh ,, hell yes !
The Highwaymen band brought out the best of each performer. They blended well. I heard they genuinely enjoyed each other's company on & off stage. /// IT'S NOT WORK IF YOU ENJOY WHAT YOU'RE DOING. It's a labor of love. Yes, Willie was at the top of his game there.
They were the Outlaws of Country Music. 😁
RIP Kris Kristofferson, Music lost a great one
Only one Highwayman left. I miss all three of the others. Long life to Willie.
I'm sorry, I totally disregarded the original Highwaymen (the folk band). Steve Butts and and Stever Trott are still going strong
🖖
Save me a spot Chris I'll be there shortly 😊
Rest peacefully Mr. Kristofferson and teach the angels how songwriting is done.
Hard to believe he’s gone. Rest in peace Sir. You were a true gem.
Willie Nelson, Waylon Jennings, Johnny Cash and Kris Kristofferson, doesn't get any better than this!
To think Kris had to land a US Army Helicopter on Johnny's lawn to get him to listen to his songs.
To day they are not Naturals to much scooling
Glen Campbell? Gentle on my Mind?
Yes! Well said! The best : simply perfect!

Willie sounds like Willie every time. True talent.
he does something with the bass notes that just gives me goosebumps. Even after all this time...
Aleksey Ilo lol I like that comment
Aleksey Ilo and Obama’s only legacy allowing grown men into women’s bathrooms and funding Iran
bjetpilot Willie and his two sons have been streaming live music under Lukas’ YT channel called quarantime. Willie’s two kids have a lot of the same characteristics as dad.
Verdade, puro talento
I surely miss this kind of music.. it’s so comforting to come back and visit … these guys are definitely country music legends.. as I grow older this takes me back in time to the days of my youth
Thirty years ago i saw them in Denver LIVE...Willie, Waylon, Jonny and Kris...you are still and forever in my Heard...all the best for you Willi

The best country group of all time. They put today's so-called country singers to shame.
Hands down without a doubt!
The harmonica player is great. He give the song the right drive…❤
If you have a conversation about the greatest country artist ever, all 4 of these guys are in those talks. And they all teamed up to make music. How blessed we are as country music fans
My late husband and I used to have this playing in the car on the way to work. He loved this song. Takes me right back to those times that I miss sharing with him so much.
❤❤❤
Sorry for your loss, Fiona, glad you still have the music for your memories
Just 4 great entertainers having a wonderful time, no big ego’s just pure music & song.
You got that right Chris.
Rare to see superstars all setting egos aside and allowing everyone shine … All my favourites in one place!!! Brilliant!!
Greatest group of men singing songs from my childhood and youth. Geez!! Willie Nelson, Waylon Jennings, Johnny Cash, Kris Kristofferson!! Oh to go back!!
Yes but what If George strait Alan Jackson tim McGraw and Chris ledoux would have sang together that would be a good matchup
