The world is slowly running out of the best artists ever.
well, willie nelson has yet to leave us, so we still have quite the amazing artist with us today.
I agree
this shit today is just that, shit
Absolutely, best regards from Germany
@@tomgray7049 Jason Isbell, Sarah Jarosz, Gillian Welch, Mulehead, you're welcome
The simpler the better, 1 instrument, 1 singer, a nice story or poem and nicely arranged notes. And very little production
The way that Johnny Cash looks at his friend Willie Nelson with so much admiration and love honestly chokes me up every time I see it. Miss him terribly.
I have been trying to stop a tear for ten minutes...., reading 'your' comment means I no longer have to...., 'the tear' has been joined by a few friends and is already rolling down my cheek!!!
That big proud grin at the end is priceless.
I totally agree
This song is on repeat the best cover I’ve heard so much effort has gone into this Willie is the living 👑 no wonder he won awards for this ❤️
The best and noticeable comment in the world 🌎 sings it so much better it’s perfect it’s on repeat
The way Johnny cash looking at him...
Astounding
With his very soulful eyes 👀😍🥰
I am almost certain this is one of the best vocal performances ever! So musical in typical willie nelson fashion. Just gives you goosebumps with how incredible this song is written and performed
To my dear husband who is now home with Lord. This is to you I miss you terribly I love you dearly.
He loves you too
When Johnny Cash and Waylon clap you know its a great song
"Thousands of colours of this song and nobody can sing it like this, not even Elvis"
Elvis did it just as good, or better...
No big egos here. Four fantastic singers.
And fantastic guitarists
Not all 4 can sing well, but can perform good!
@@sjefhendrickx2257 They both can sing very well.
dont make em like they used too!
ABSOFREAKINGLUTELUY!!
The piano playing on this video is beautiful and of course Willie never disappoints.
With this ballad I said goodbye to my husband, who died far too young. 3 months ago he surprisingly left me alone in this world. RIP Freddy! ❤️🖤

@@francorealini8470 Thank you!
My 96 year old mother chose this as her funeral entrance song. Made sense to me, she had four children. and she was never overly affecionate. Love her miss her.
So sorry to hear of your loss. Stay strong i know its tough.
Sorry for your loss.
The look from Waylon and Johnny. Priceless.
When you've got those three guys just standing around and listening because they can't think of anything to add that would make it any better...you're doing something right.
If god made better songs and singers he kept them for himself
Pure.luck I saw them live in Australia
Respect
Pure respect 👏🏻👏🏻
Also notice the other 3 all clapping for him. Just shows how respectful they are of each other.
The BEST Always On My Mind Cover of all time.
Cover? He wrote the damn song XD

Best cover is from Elvis
Man what a soft, gentle, yet strong voice. I'm so glad to have been born before the corporations corrupted everything. This man sings of life, and not the pursuit of material things.
This man is willie nelson !!!
@@Mysterious13138 Yeah buddy!
many many people do. corporations have ruined nothing, only the way u see things.
This is when we were still in charge of our life. Very sad we do not have our country anymore.
This man has the most compelling voice. When he sings songs like this, it renders them so true.
You should hear Willie's son, he's amazing! Just like his dad.
Willie"s voice is timeless! Completely beautiful song.
No one does that song like Willie Nelson. Even when parts of it are almost spoken, it's just somehow better.
He still has that pizzazz keep on going my friend
just like the Irish accent
So true. His account is quite unsurpassable
one of the few songs my late wife didn't roll her eyes when I sang. She felt the meaning I meant specially for her. This and Never tear Us apart.Miss you Veronica, still always on my mind.
That is strong Bill - thanks for sharing.
♥️🥺
This man spoke a story that speak regret, sorrow, and lost in one song. Love you Willie
I was blind. You're always on my minds!!!
My dad used to sing this to my mother when I was growing up. Lost him in 1999, and her in June of this year. This brings back great memories, but man I miss them.
As we all know, Elvis made this song popular but, Willie nailed it.....his studio version is absolutely incredible. And then live. What an amazing artist. And being the writer of, "Crazy" sung by Patsy Cline. Timeless....

Almost 30 years later and you’re still in my mind and in my heart.

How true.
Willie Nelson's "Always on my Mind" is a lyrical masterpiece that paints a vivid picture of heartache and longing, with bittersweet melodies that tug at the heartstrings and poignant lyrics that cut like a knife.
Well said man. It’s a beautiful version and Willie is one of a kind. Elvis’ cover holds a special place in my heart too.
so refreshing to see real stars that don't put their country down.
True , Proud , Happy to be AMERICANS
This song is really good when sung by someone with experience in life
No one does it like Willie
"This tune always makes me cry and makes me blue.
The sound of His guitar melts my heart down to the ground.
With a warm and lonely voice that gives hope, then
the lyrics ripe it from your throat and that bring you back to the empty well of Tears.
That fall on distant family ears.
Leaving you with Sunday fears
We all keep on listening after all these years.
Some of the best Jazz country music I've heard in all my years. "

I love the other guys' reaction at the end.
4 incredible talented legends .. nothing but pure talent ... this is what music is really about!!
Ill second that and I was born in1989....feel ripped off growing up in a generation of mass produced pretend artists. These guys are the real deal!!! This song gets me every time! Goosebumps and tears! RIP Johnny and Waylon! Xxx
Real music
And a great great backing band. All of them are brilliant musicians.
Willie & Trigger are a gift to humanity
I don’t think I’ve seen any comments about the rest of the band! Completely wonderful!! And as I,am a retired sound engineer, I must say the mix of the singing mices and all instruments, is absolutely perfect!!! Today two of the heroes are still alive. I hope they stay that way for many years!!!!!
Yes indeed. I find myself meticulously watching members of the band throughout each song...absolutely magnificent...whoever choreographed the band mix is pure genius. They are as important, if not more so, to the success of this concert...they made each of the guys sound their best. You have to listen and watch carefully, each band member has a special part if you can catch it !!!
Allot of people can sing.. But these men are singers!! That's a huge difference... Loved every song!!
Every time I hear this song, it brings me to tears. I think of my ex girlfriend. Thanks Willie Nelson, you’re a living legend, Stay strong!
Willy Is a man and Singer amazing, his voice stop to me and I feeling something too especial, God bless you friend
I am so glad Willie got to do this solo, they are all greats, but Willie owns this through and through 😍😍😍❤🧡💛💚💙💜🤎🖤🤎💜💙💚💛🧡❤
Love the way the 3 of them stood back and listened to Willie sing, then applauded when he had finished. Respect with a capital R. Great singers and musicians. That song is so very special to so many people, including me, I love it when Willie sings it.
Class❤
I can't believe how good the quality of the video and audio is. And then of course, there's the indisputable quality of the music itself.
I adore all of those masculine Highwaymen. So .talented glorious music. Bravo forever….
My late husband loved Willie Nelson. We liked to tease each other, and when a Willie song would play, I would tell my husband that "Willie can't sing". Then we would get in a huge discussion (not argument) over Willie's voice, or lack of. My husband died unexpectedly in 1984. We were both 37. Since his death, I play Willie's songs & by gosh, he can sing. This song is extra special to me, because when Willie sings it I think of the past 38 years and "what should have been". I wish I had told him more often that I loved him, and how much he meant to me. I know I will see him again soon, and I cherish that thought.
God he's so vulnerable singing this. Bravo, Willie.
Kristofferson singing at 2:14 kills me. Love these guys
This is what made country music
Lol he just couldn't contain himself. Groupie moment ❤️
I adore all of those masculine Highwaymen. So talented. What glorious music. Bravo forever….
They enter the stage through a very narrow door, no room for bigheads among the Highwaymen.
1.25 when he really starts playing that guitar. Absolutely incredible. One of the greatest guitar players of all time.
the phrasing is sublime and so fantastic
They played this in my brother funeral and it was so nice and srong
Is the Governments of the world speaking . Spot on & sound engineering good too.
So much respect for the genuine down to earth goodness (and phenomenal voice) of this man.
This voice
Imagine being there and being able to witness these greats on stage.👏
And once again thank you Mr Nelson for the goose bumps and your emotions God protect you

We've all had that 1st true love ...mine got away and even today this song tells it all ... it's been 30 yrs and she's still on my mind ... Annie you stolled my heart .
This is the way music is suppose to be done
My beloved dog passed away a month ago very suddenly from complications after an Addisonian Crisis (we didn't even know she had Addison's Disease until a day before she had to be put down). She was only 5 and a half years old. Every time I listen to this song I think of her and cry. All the things I should have done with her or for her, all the things I wish we could still do together. All the things I took for granted. I regret not doing so many things together with her. I still can't believe she's really gone. It feels like any second now I'll hear her claws clack on the hard floor. When I sit on the couch and put my foot on the floor I still try to find her and slip my toes underneath her to keep them warm and be able to touch her. I miss giving her kisses on her big ol' head and snout. I miss her perpetually wet nose. I miss her big soft beautiful brown eyes and they way they looked into my soul. I'd give anything to just hold her again. I have so many regrets, things I wish we could have done. She never got to see the ocean. She never got to go camping. She never got to go swimming. I just never took the time. I love you so much, Martinique. You were such a special girl. I'm sorry I couldn't help you any more. I did what I could, my angel. I'm sorry it wasn't enough.
Pure gold, this is an absolute treasure to the next generations ( if they can appreciate it...)
Brenda Lee was the first to record this Wayne Carson Thompson classic but she never released it as a single. Elvis did it later but no one did as well as Willie.
micheal buble does a nice cover , but willie nails it , it sounds so genuine
I adore all of those masculine Highwaymen. So .What glorious music. Bravo forever….
I Bravoadore all of those masculine Highwaymen. So .talented glorious music. Bravomusic. Bravomusic. Bravomusic. Bravomusic. Bravomusic. Bravo music.
You are always on my mind too..and you know who you are. Xo
"Always on My Mind" is a ballad written by Wayne Carson, Johnny Christopher, and Mark James, first recorded by Brenda Lee and first released by Gwen McCrae (as "You Were Always on My Mind") in March 1972. Lee's version was released three months later in June 1972.
One of the great songs from the greatest ever country singer, one quarter of the greatest group ever.
The best ❤
What kind of freaks dislike it? That's fine music!
With great respect, a fan from Russia
My whole life this man has been ancient looking... and I am 50 this year! :)
what a sincere bunch of talented musicians and very best of friends..... thank you
Willie your a Texan and Country legend I’m from Texas and I’m honoured that I was born were a Country Star was born. Hope I can see you one day soon either on Earth or in Heaven. God bless you Willie Nelson.
🙄😂
Since I'm a certified country song lover, I'm going to watch this concert as long as I'm able to.
so incredible! These men are legends, each and everyone of them. Is an honour to see this. Real music, real musician's RIP Johnny Cash
Am i old? Our am i just in love with this type of country? Thus song hits to hard for the younger ones. Love you mom!!
this song chokes me up every time i hear it. the meaningfulness of nelson’s voice combined with the sound of trigger makes me cry, and i don’t even know why. it’s that good type of crying. the type where you enjoy the cry you have. the solo with him and trigger before the last verse of usually where i crack. this is one of the songs where after i listen to it, i sit back, close my tabs, and think to myself: “how lucky are we? what the f*ck did i just watch.” thank you, willie nelson. thank you, waylon jennings. thank you, johnny cash. thank you, kris kristofferson. thank you, highwaymen. 🖤🤍🖤🤍
KRISTINA...YOU ARE ALWAYS ON MY MIND...YOUR KING DAVID
These men were my introduction to country music at the age of about 14. For this, I salute them.
Daaaam powerful song 🥺 We all can do better. Love and Peace!!!

Game recognizing game. Rest in peace to the two departed souls ♥️
Can’t stop listening to this Willie is the 👑 amazing performance
This guy is so true in doing this, and his guitar so living
When i was younger listening to fancy metall and rock bands - now i'm crushed by this "simply" track
That voice ❤❤❤
Nothing quite like Willie!
Masterpiece this is true legendary, live on forever for the love ❤️ of music 🎵
Seen this guy in an interview? He is just the same awesome guy….his music is the damn same. What a legend! Love him !
The VOICE!!!!
SUPERBE!!!
🎼🎼🎼🎶🎶🎶🎶🎶🎸🎸🎸⭐️
Bullshit! He ruined that song! Sloppy and incorrect. Listen to Elvis Presley sing it, now that is how it should be sung. Very disappointing from Willie.
@@montinaladine3264 wait... What? This song is his own... Elvis just did a boring cover...
Watch me sing the song "Always on my mind": ua-cam.com/video/4QA2lA6OiGY/v-deo.html
Damn he has looked old for so many decades. But still alive !
The magic of Willie XD
He’s got such a distinct voice
He is a living legend.
I wonder how many of these beautiful songs Willie wrote while high
This is what I wake up for 🤘🏼
A LEGEND/ICON, SURROUNDED BY A FEW OTHER LEGENDS, THANK YOU WILLIE, GOD BLESS YOU.
This song "Always on my Mind" is written for Willie to sing to entertain us all. More legendary artists can cover it too to their best n highest level of entertainment, but none carries the degree of kharisma n magical love as the one sung by Willie Nelson.
Most moving. !
There are 10-15 songs I love most - this is one of them
Sad but true!
Beautiful
the way you hear Willie's voice is like its defying autotune because it already sounds like autotune and that's why its so unique and relaxing to listen
his son has also released a cover of this song, and at one part of the song if you close your eyes and listen, it's exactly like willie
