      I was there!
      Waylon was actually the star of the live shows, in a way. He was the one who embraced the concept of the group and spoke and joked about himself and the others and kept the crowd entertained.

      @60Cascade 5 років тому +40

      @@highnrising Exactly right. I saw them in the early 90s and I commented to the people I was with that it surprised me that Waylon was sort of the spokesman for the group. And he was really funny. I'd seen Waylon in concert in the late 70s and he hardly talked at all in between songs. Cash on the other hand (who I'd seen several times in concert) would always talk and joke with his audience, but he didn't say much during the Highwaymen show. He did get a standing ovation when he did the "Ragged Old Flag" which was very moving. Great memories - I love all four of these guys.

    So much talent and experience on this stage, watching this should be mandatory. But since we still live in a free world, I hope more music lovers flock here willingly.

    They are the best of the best. They always will be. Their music is gonna be heard somewhere around the universe forever. Rest in peace Kris, Waylon, Johnny… May the god save Willie; the very last highwayman. Youre all still around, living still and be back again as highwaymen or may be a single drop of rain. But youll be remain…

    All the people going on here that they dislike what Kris did here. And some are saying Johnny did too. I can understand why he might not have liked it. But I have to say, from my own view on it, I really like it. In fact it's my favourite part of the song.

      Wonder why people didn’t like it? Because it was Johnny Cash’s performance?
