Does the top seal have to be completely against the top when you install it. I have a half inch gap between the top of the dishwasher and the countertop

That red clamp that he used for the drain hose goes on the garbage disposal there's a silver clamp that also comes in the dishwasher that one gets attached to the dishwasher drain hose
