    This guy was awesome! He covered every step, wasn’t over wordy, but rather he was clear and concise! Best video on the internet for installing a KitchenAid dishwasher!

    Have this dishwasher didn't know about the side mounts good to know, I ran my dishwasher a full loads before fully installing it to ensure that their wasn't any leaks going on under the dishwasher. I also installed a water detector device under the dishwasher. As we I siliconed all the edges at the wall side to ensure that if there would be a leak it wouldn't find it's self going in the walls and subsequently down to the next level. The water detector keep it close to the front of the unit as you will have to replace the battery every five years.

    Great tutorial, thank you. As already the other guy mentioned I have never knew how properly use breackets for side mounting. Now I will do only that way!
    The only small trick I can advise is to use a piece of towel paper on the floor under the water connections to check for leaks - it is almost impossible to miss a leak because even a small wet spot is seen on the paper (just touching with fingers is not always gives guarantee the leak was not missed). For additional security after there aren't spots I take a small bunch of paper in my hand and place it around fittings. It works in all plumbing projects for sure.

    One thing that I'd stress is that the adjusting wheel in back really must be loosened before installing the unit. I had to use a very big Allen wrench on the foot. The flat blade screwdriver wouldn't begin to cut it. I doubt most people wouldn't have one, good luck. Otherwise, it was a great tutorial.

    I've done this installation a few times over the years, but this is the first time I became aware of the 'side screw' option. Whether or not my countertop was wood or stone, I now prefer to use this side screw option. I like the thorough work-thru video by this tech, but I would have liked to have seen a 360 of the unit at the beginning. This 360 would give a novice installer an idea of how much spare room he/she had at the rear of the dishwasher; like needed space for an oversized electrical box mounted on the rear wall.

    I'm having a code come up after installation and a run through cycle. Water has dripped into the pan. It goes off after i wipe out the pan. Would the leak have come from that elbow attachment or from another source. There was a drop of water on that copper elbow, but unsure if thats the cause. Also, we used Teflon tape on the supply line connected to the copper fitting. Probably an obvious answer but putting it out there. Thanks.

    great video, I got everything hooked up, but the dishwasher sticks out a little more then I like. Do you think it would be ok to try to remove the mounting screws and readjust ?

    • @TheAppliancePlug
      @TheAppliancePlug  2 роки тому

      Did you mount under the counter or side mount?
      If the dishwasher sticks out passed the countertop, you should be able to slide it back further. You would need to make sure you don’t crush and lines and there’s nothing in the way in the space that might prevent you from doing so.

    It was not clear to me where the side rubber strips are supposed to go. My installation guy left them totally exposed instead of hiding them behind the cabinets. What is correct? In my opinion he did not push the dishwasher in enough

    • @TheAppliancePlug
      @TheAppliancePlug  Рік тому

      Generally, the rubber strips should be behind the face of the cabinets and the front of your dishwasher should be even with the edge of your counter tops. However, there are situations that don’t allow dishwashers to slide all the way back. It can be things like electrical or plumbing lines. Usually these can be corrected so end up with a nice flush install. Thanks for watching!
