I just bought this dishwasher yesterday, replacing the old black version with the utensil rack in the door. The new washer will be here in 9 days, and this video is a life saver due to the fact I am installing the same unit. Thank you so much for putting this out on YT. I'll update you when I install it.
Thank so much for doing this video. I just installed a new Whirlpool washer after watching your video. It was especially helpful when you pointed out where to connect the drain hose, as the blurry instructions that came with the washer do not show it clearly. I also enjoyed the guest appearance by your cat.
Hi @David Rivette - thanks for watching and commenting! I’m really glad to hear the video helped you out. That cat loves working with me on projects around the house! Weird!
Really appreciated your video! Installed the same dishwasher as you had without any significant issues after watching you do it. Also - my cat is a dead ringer for your cat.
Hi @Red Parrot Travel- oh yes, that cat is always my helper! If I ever have tools out and am making noise, she’s right there in the mix. Good luck to you!
Glad you took the time to make a video. You skipped over hooking up the drain hose or at least showing it hooked up. Important because the appliance end is extremely thin and it would seem that it should have an internal plastic support like the adjacent line.
Very good video. I have a slightly different model everything works except water leaking from the garbage disposer pvc pipe below the drain hose, i will loosen it and see if gasket is worn.
May as well had been jibberish on box. I didn’t even read it, cut down 2 sides & it came right out. I made sure not to scratch d/w w/ blade. haha Thx for your tutorial! I’m doing this at 4am. 💁🏻♀️
Thanks for taking time to do this!! You make it look so easy! I am worried about the height, can you adjust once in place...we have tile up to the counter and then cement under dishwasher spot
Ahh, I see your predicament. Sorry for the delayed reply. I don’t see a way to adjust the rear feet in place, but you could probably adjust the front ones in place. Perhaps you could just get the back feet on the concrete, adjust them, then push the unit fully back- the. Adjust the front feet. It might take some trial and error. Otherwise, you could take spare tile, or something else to put under the feet so they stay level with the tile on your floor. Good luck with what you do!
Thank you for the video. I got 90% of this done before I saw your video but was stuck on mounting it inside as I have granite on the top as well. My questions how did you fit those brackets in on the side? I am still confused on that part. Thanks.
Hello - uff, I don’t remember the details of how the brackets fit on the unit. 13:30 shows a quick clip of the bracket. I do know i broke one of the brackets and had to repair it before I could install. (Too sheepish to put that in the video though;) good luck! Sorry I’m not more help on that question.
My new Whirlpool dishwasher installed very easily. I did replace the water line with a new braided stainless steel water line, because the old one was made from plastic. I had to drill a 3/4” hole in the bottom of the cabinet to allow the 6’ water line to reach its water connection, but that was about it. No leaks, drips or errors. The instructions said to use Teflon (PTFE) tape but I did not use it - hand tight and then a half turn with a wrench.
I just installed the same dishwasher 2 days ago and if anybody else has it after you run a dishwashing cycle can you feel under the door there's some insulation can you tell me if it feels wet . It's not wet enough to drip but can definitely feel like the insulation is wet
Thanks for your video, one question, seems to be like the Samsung I need to replace, less than year old, will not clean dishes and Samsung has no parts, anyways how has this model worked for you? Is it quiet too? Thanks.
Hi @justanotherfan18 - we have really liked this dishwasher so far. It is very quiet and does an excellent job cleaning dishes. We don’t rinse unless it’s really starchy, and usually everything is clean with each load. The only downside is that the cycle we run takes 4 hours. We start it each night before bed, so the cycle time isn’t a big deal. There are quicker cycles also that do a decent job. Best of luck!
12:55 Not sure if you skipped over the section where it talks about where you are supposed to route the drain/water/electrical lines because your drain line is in the wrong place. Everything is supposed to fit in either the lower left or right corners in the space (if you're not jamming it all the way into the space, it probably won't matter).
@NashwaukSteve yes, I ended up pushing mine all the way to the wall, so I had to drill a new hole in the cabinet to route all of the water/drain/power lines. Otherwise, it looks like your water shutoff was already located behind the dishwasher like mine (which I left as it would have been a hassle to relocate)... which makes you wonder what the person installing it was thinking as you can't access it without pulling the entire dishwasher out. 🤷
Hi Ivan Jaimes- it’s connected to the hot water line. Regarding a vent for the drain line, the installation manual specified in which cases a vent is needed. Mine doesn’t need one, but yes, some are supposed to. Thanks for watching!
Hi! May I ask what the measurements are, for the empty space you put the dishwasher into? Our dishwasher space is a bit snug and I’m not convinced of squeezing it in there.
Nope! I just looked at mine and the hole for the mounting screw is outside the seal of the dishwasher. No water SHOULD get there. ;) thanks for the comment!
@@NashwaukSteve Thank you for the response and the helpful video! I was looking around for something missing, but glad it isn’t wrong. I don’t know where us DIYers would be without UA-cam videos like yours!

I'm surprised it didn't come with an electrical cord. I've never bought a dishwasher that hasn't included a cord. And so you don't have a sink air vent? The line goes right into your disposal?
Right, no electrical cord with this one, but the store sells a dishwasher cord kit. Also no sink vent, just right to the disposal for mine. Thanks for watching!
Hi Divi Divi - we’ve had this model for a while and really like it! The top rack for silverware makes loading a bit slower, but unloading is quicker as everything is sorted. We started off running it on hi temp and sani rinse, but after a while realized it still did a great job without those features on- maybe one or two spoons per week would not be perfect. So yeah- I recommend it! Good luck!
So sorry! Many people have noted that miss on my part. I plan to make a separate video on that and when I do I’ll link it in the description. Thanks for taking the time to comment!
