    Over the last few years, pretty much after I had my covid vaccine. I started to develop an allergy to the water. At first I thought it was maybe the soap I was using. Eventually I removed all soaps. I put filters on the water I went through using hot water, cold water. Nothing seems to really matter. The only thing I can do is take a whole bunch of allergy medicine. At the time. This was the only thing that would work. The only thing I eventually found that sort of helps is beta alanine. I still can't take a lot of showers because of the severe itching. It is extremely painful. It's like burning itching under the skin. The only thing I know is it happened after my covid vaccine. Other than that, I do not know what started causing this. Obviously I never got any more of the vaccines. I really didn't want to to begin with but my elderly mother lives with me and I thought it was the right thing to do at the time. Now. I regret it. We ended up getting covid and anyway and it was just like having a bad cold /;flu for a week or two.

    Wow, I learned so much in this video!
    YEARS ago I got a skin injury where I bumped into something and the spot on my leg became inflamed and just would NOT heal up. The clinic doctor I saw (not my regular doctor) said to stop the ibuprofen, and told me that I had become allergic to it. I thought, "That doc is crazy!" I decided to comply, if only to prove her wrong, and what do you know, it got better! I have taken ibuprofen a few times since then, but definitely not every day like I had been when that happened.
    Recently, I had reason to take some ibuprofen again for a few days, and actually started breaking out in hives. 😳 (not my first time for hives, so at least I knew what it was.) Turns out there's a thread of autoimmune disorders that runs through my family and it seems to intermittently activate in me, so I'm looking at lifestyle changes, in hopes of avoiding the long, relentless train of pharmaceuticals.
    Thank you so much for this video.

      Thanks Vicki! I’m glad you found it useful. The strategy to reverse autoimmune is the same… give the body what it needs… and remove as much of that what is burdening it 😉

    Thank you so much, I have downloaded the 7 day diet, grocery list etc. after subscribing and have received further explanations on why you include histamine high foods such as spinach and avocado (actually I was wandering about the spinach). I have had hives for two years now, they are better since I have included beans every day , still I can’t totally get rid of them. I have hives particularly about an hour and a half after dinner, sometimes pretty bad on my back, arms and breasts, sometimes hands and feet, neck. Lately they have reduced their intensity and last for a shorter time. I have taken all tests (autoimmune, allergy, stools for microbiome). I am moderately allergic to graminacee and yeast and my stool histamine is 2000. Not particularly bad disbiosis, in fact I have always eaten quite healthy. If I take 3-4 drops of Zirtec (1st generation anti stamine) I am ok for about 3 days. I have stopped Zirtec for about a fortnight now and trying to eat less histamine containing foods besides trying to eat as little grains as possible. Still I have not gotten rid of hives totally. I notice that eggs, especially at dinner, are not particularly good for me.

      I work with clients online globally. Use the 7 day clean eating plan moo-ve.ck.page/7-day-clean-eating-cu
      If eating this way for 1-3 months does not help you then you need to find someone who can support you with gut health.

    This is a very good, thorough presentation. My urticaria has come and gone since childhood. I'm male 64. When I take an antihistamine, I get relief within about 15 minutes and lasts sometimes several days or longer. I eat a near carnivore diet, no sugar, no grain/legumes, 20 years. High in bacon and eggs. I confess I also drink lite beer therapeutically. So, I guess I generally but not always have a fairly deep bucket or at least a bucket that empties easily. Brain fog is becoming a concern though. Not sleeping well since covid which I think is a serious matter. Too bad DAO is so expensive!! Antihistamine tablet is cheap and reported to be one of least harmful medications there is. 🤞🤞

      Hi Fred! Thanks for your feedback! Your diet sounds pretty clean and I guess you are able to keep the bucket fairly empty, but it sounds like the hives still come and go. In my experience, those who have already done a good job of cleaning up their diets, should look to the next level which is gut work. Watch my gut health masterclass Glow, also on this channel. You may pick up some more good pointers 😉

      From my experience beans are essential in a good diet. I suffer from CU and it has improved since I have put beans in my diet - soluble fibre helps the bile expel toxins.

    my urticaria/hives is mainly brought on by exercise or raise in body temperature quickly, do you have any tips for me? it’s really depressing not being able to do the things I love like anymore after this started happening out of the blue.. I used to be so active and social, now I cannot even leave my house or barely go into the sunlight without my whole body breaking out into hives and having a severe itchy/burning sensation all over my body.

    What is the coaching program like? Any details you can share.

    • @FunctionalMedicineCoach
      @FunctionalMedicineCoach  6 місяців тому

      The program runs for 10 weeks and is a combination of focused nutrition changes to reduce inflammation and calm angry hives as fast as possible, combined with a two-phase gut healing program for the fastest results. Most people become hive-free in this period, or at least see at least 80% improvements, depending on what they have going on, how long they have been struggling and what other issues may be on their timeline such as trauma or emotional issues. I am not currently running a group cohort, biting you’d like to explore 1-1 options with differing levels of support, then book a call here: p.bttr.to/3TF8BYJ

    What is a good low histamine diet or cookbook?

    • @FunctionalMedicineCoach
      @FunctionalMedicineCoach  6 місяців тому +3

      I don’t recommend the low histamine diet, even though it can help short term. We should not be afraid of histamine containing foods. We should work on why the body is either producing too much histamine and unable to clear histamine fast enough.

    Hi there Mireille, I am seeing super itchy bug bites looking spots and it would get bigger until the itch goes away. And also it creates hives when I scratch it. I think it is becoming chronic as it happened longer than 6 weeks. It only happens aT night time. So I would take Benadryl at night to calm it down and help me sleep. My allergist wants me to take one Zyrtec in the morning and Benadryl at night for the next 4 weeks. In your opinion, is it fully possible for me to heal when I let go the antihistamines with proper diet, fluid intake and just taking care of my stress and life in general? What can I do while tapering off from anti histamine to prevent major flare up once it is stopped? Thank you so much!

    • @FunctionalMedicineCoach
      @FunctionalMedicineCoach  10 місяців тому

      hi Alya! yes absolutely it's possible! coming off antihistamines can be a little tricky for some, and it depends on what else you have going on in your body as to whether nutrition and hydration is enough on it's own. I feel for most people it is enough, but for the people who end up working with me, they've already gone down that route. Check out the 7 day plan that I linked in the comments. For most people that is enough to get them hive-free and off antihistamines!
      thanks for popping by!

    Yep, it's such a relief to see those nasty hives fade away day after day until they completely vanish, I went with what I pointed out not long ago and after 21 days the urticaria’s gone, I just go'ogled the latest by Shane Zormander and now my skin is as smooth and clean as ever!

    bs get Xolair injections

    • @FunctionalMedicineCoach
      @FunctionalMedicineCoach  Рік тому +11

      Xolair does not address any root causes... It just covers up the symptoms

    • @Ruktiet
      @Ruktiet Рік тому +6

      Xolair increases cerebrovascular and cardiovascular disease risk. It’s an immune supressant and thus carries risk. One needs to ask WHY you develop such an immune response in the first place instead of just bombarding a whole part of your immune system.
