I developed all the symptoms of histamine intolerance… I was a freaking mess. I couldn’t figure it out, nor did the doctors. All I can eat right now for gut healing is homemade chicken broth by boiling 4 piece chicken thighs with bone ins and skin that was previously frozen. I thaw it right away then cook it right away with a pot full of water to make the broth. I have to remove skins before I freeze them because I'm getting nauseous with too much fat. Then I freeze it all separately. I add low histamine low FODMAP veggies: lacinto kale, rutabaga, arugula, chard, cabbage, broccoli, sea salt. I can tolerate that. When it's time to eat, I pull out a piece of frozen chicken, cook the veggies in broth diluted with water to taste, and add in the frozen chicken piece. Add Himalayan salt. For lunch I eat frozen turkey patty cooked on stove top in ghee. I can tolerate green plantains and sweet potatoes. I cook them on stove top with ghee. I can tolerate steak frozen and immediately thawed and cooked. Look for recipes on cooking plantains: tostones. I am going to start taking a DAO supplement and am working with a functional medicine doctor who ran tests on me. I can eat cassava chips and taro chips with oil made from palm oil. I eat plantain chips. I take digestive enzymes from designs for health. Try dao from "designs for health" or "seeking health."

Adding magnesium, vit E, zinc, evening primrose oil, vitamins B complex, getting enough vitamin D either through supplement or sun exposure, lowering sugar intake, and cutting out processed foods helped me. I have histamine intolerance that almost killed me three times before the immunologist figured it out. It started being deadly when menopause started. I honestly believe there is a connection but unfortunately where I live none of the doctors do not know what to do other than prescribe pills. I had to take over being my own doctor, not knowing what the hell I am doing, getting information from mainly mayo clinics. Too much misinformation on the internet. It feels like I am slowly dying.
I have random itching all over my body and I feel like some small insects circulating and like spider web on my face also my hair itching and all of this stress me and causes palpitations difficulty to breath it drives me crazy. I consulted different doctors but they can't find what is the cause so I take antihistamine drugs for 7 years now and the effect of those drugs like cetirizine and Bilastine started to have no effect and I can't live without them it even effected my ability to work and because of this I cannot focus. I wish I could find some doctors like you to diagnose me. 😖😔

A starving person knows food is the solution, but if they don’t have the resources to get food they will die. In our country, you can educate yourself online and know what is wrong but not have the resources to heal yourself and know death will be the result.
There's a Dr in Wentzville that has helped someone I know.... they're not on the level of these two, better than most. Sending hope.....
@@rochelle1055How long do you cook the chicken if the chicken is frozen when you put it in the broth.? Thanks I’m going to try this sounds like a good idea easy on the gut.I never tried green plantains, interested in going to give it a go. Thanks for the ideas
Try eating only carnivore for a week.
Look at the videos of dr Ben lynch he’s the best I’ve listened to so far getting to the root combining genetic info & epi genetic factors & suggesting sensible treatment protocols. I’ve not got genetic testing done yet but worked out which supplements I need to try & in what order from what I’ve learned from him
Suffering from dermatitis for 20 years now ... it will kill me. I cannot stand the inflammations anymore. Help me please ...
Adding magnesium, vit E, zinc, evening primrose oil, vitamins B complex, getting enough vitamin D either through supplement or sun exposure, lowering sugar intake, and cutting out processed foods helped me. I also use this oil (psoria oil) after washing hands and my hand dermatitis is almost none existent. I also incorporated healing body meditations. Good luck! Your body can heal anything!
Could you please talk about Mast Cell Activation a little moe?
mine is from mold toxicity and prob heavy metals as well..I am among 25% of the population and my body cant detox biotoxins on its own--..for years i suffered with bloating, itching, chronic stuffiness, dizziness and chronic fatigue..5 months ago my health took a dive and I have been very sick..my bloodwork points to CIRS and we do have water damage in mutliple places here and I have fillings--12 for over 40 years now..
Ironically some of the foods that may help with inflammation, like onions, aren't part of a low FODMAP diet for SIBO.
Dr Boham is great her sulfur information is amazing
I like that you said there are different probiotics... My gut disturbances are different. Sometimes, Kefir helps to settle my stomach and sometimes I need to eat green olives to settle it. I'm still learning but it seems to be a difference between stomach upset because of too much bile and upset because of not enough bile.
You definitely don't have Histamine Intolerance, you could have other problems but not Hist Intolerance 👍
@@WilliamWallace-sc9cx ROTFL... Thank you for your medical diagnosis, I'm amazed that your name is not more well known...

I second the drinking keifer for stomach disturbances has helped me so much with acid reflux.
Have you looked into testing for SIBO? You might want to do some research on that. Mine caused me massive nausea.
@@lindapelle8738 I have SIBO... I've actually been working on healing my gut for the past 8yrs. The SIBO and histamine are hopefully the last issues healing.
We shall see. Right now I'm in the stage where the better I feel, the more I realize how truly sick I've been all my life.
Thank you so much for this video and all you are doing to educate people and treat them for this disorder. Ive been suffering from histamine intolerance for a year. I’ve been on the low histamine diet during this time. I’m so weary of eating this way. If I dare to cheat a little bit, I pay the price. My symptoms are changing and I’m getting more GI issues and vertigo. I get swelling under my ears that will itch and form a scab. It’s all so strange. I’m working now to get to the bottom of it hoping and praying I can get well again.
For my fellow health professionals, please let me note:
If you have diabetes patients who cannot control their blood sugar, consider they also have this and they may really need to avoid certain foods. I have like 10 case studies where this has been true.
Wow! Im getting so run down from eating right and then being told different information. I really listen and try hard. At 72 maybe I should give up!
NEVER give up! I've was sick for 40 years, and finally (because I was stubborn) discovered what doctors couldn't be bothered with, I have A SEVERE GENETIC FORM OF PERNICIOUS ANEMIA. I disagree with some of the approaches of functional medicine doctors, but only such common sense approaches will work. If you have evidence of high histamine (fatigue, stuff nose of a morning, dry skin) take charge and play around with whatever approach works for you. I don't believe (from experience) all the testing or addressing hormones is necessary. The key is if you support your body, it'll do much of it for you.
This is great!! I just went to a sinus surgeon who couldn’t find anything wrong with me despite constant sinus issues and migraines. I’m suspecting histamine is where I should experiment next. I’m also considering carnivore for a short period of time. Would love the handout for histamine diet phases.

Thank you so much!! I am really grateful for all this information!!❤❤❤
Heavy metal toxicity can also cause mast cell activation and histamine intolerance! That hasn’t been mentioned yet.
I have been dealing with this for a few years and have been trying to discover the root cause. I have done a parasite cleanse (Zuma Nutrition) and it has basically taken care of it about 85%, so I am continuing to ask what is triggering this. I am just finishing a candida cleanse also, and again, big change. So…I am having a few symptoms and still want to figure out what is triggering the histamine. I’m interested in hearing what the drs have to say.
@drmarkhyman and team... Could you please add the pdf of the low histamine diet stages that Dr. Bowman mentioned as well as supplement list? Thank you!
Not one doc has ever told me about this, I have all these symptoms since perimenopause, and after menopause!
That’s me too.. it’s been 10 years since my menopause and my migraine and fatigue have only gotten worse.. I’ve seen so many doctors.. this was never even mentioned.. makes me so angry, so many years of suffering.. and no help from doctors.. frustrating!
Most doctors don’t know about this.
Your microbiome changes in menopause. Hence gut and histamine problems. I have it too. Common.@barbvest1834
Ok how do you get probiotics that aren’t derivatives of milk or fermented products? So what are good probiotics?
Bacillus Subtilis is soil based
there certain strains you can take and others to avoid. 😊

So interesting about fermented foods as they also add good bugs like sauerkraut.

Best way to quickly/safely, get inflammation down in cells? HI is my Nemesis right now. Been dealing 3yrs. Take DAO w every meal. IV chelation DMPS is HORRID on my body (addressing probable root cause of mercury) . Now my veins are "gone", due to inflammation . Been doing ALL the right things. I'm Spent. Viscous cycle. Bed bugs can increase your histamine levels.
Amazing! Thank you!
I am on Zyrtec and Benadryl, and a low histamine diet because the steroids caused my health and weight to spiral out of control. Now I have a low thyroid issue and the medication put me in ER. It feels like I am slowly dying.
What about the oxalates in the foods you’re mentioning??
Where can I get a list??!!!

Watched another video that said sprouted legumes is a natural source of DAO. I never heard this before and curios why the popular health people dont mention it.
A starving person knows food is the solution, but if they don’t have the resources to get food they will die. In our country, you can educate yourself online and know what is wrong but not have the resources to heal yourself and know death will be the result. Different kind of starvation due to lack of resources. So glad God doesn’t check income but offers grace to everyone and Heaven for the end of the journey. That said thanks information is helpful.. will do what I can with diet… suspected avocado and might be the probiotic…
Mark- can you put the handout link up for the food phases please?

If Dr Hyman takes cromolyn before meals and she avoids anchovies bc they are high histamine. It sounds like they haven’t reversed their own histamine intolerance with access to all the remedies and cures for the cause. Sigh.
What about hereditary alpha tryptasemia. Presents like mast cell activation and mastocytosis but I have an extra copy of a gene that causes elevated tryptase. I inherited from my father. My histamine levels are always normal. I can control most symptoms through my diet but not all symptoms.
