I have been following your tutorials for some time now, and they have really helped me progress as a blender user. I especially love all your geometry nodes videos. Thank you for your tutorials!
Good lord, your tutorial is as epic as the massive image. It's exactly what I needed. Subbed, liked, going to go check out more tutorials. Thank you so much!
Dude you're extremely underrated. You should be having millions of subs. Thank you for your videos. Do you have any resources you can point us to if we wanted to learn a bit about Geometry Node theory? I'm very new and have been following your tutorials, but I think Im missing a bit of node theory for me to think more independently.
@Ducky 3D is one of the best Blender teachers online, (Discord etc..)... anyways, Geo nodes are really new too, so watching some older videos from him, and making a few scenes/vids/animations could help a ton to learn fundamentals...
If I understood correctly, we have an initial mesh (created by a geometry node inside the modifier section), we use a bunch of displacement modifiers on this mesh so it has a lot of weird vertices, and then at each vertex of this mesh, we assign a normal Cube to it (or any other mesh) using another geometry node modifier, and we modulate both to get an interesting result !
Great tutorials. Just started blender 2 days ago and I already feel like I've learned so much. One small request, can you move the camera so its not blocking the numbers in the bottom right?
I love it! I've been using geometry nodes recently and this is really helpful, and the results look fantastic! Thanks so much for sharing! Give this man a WOO: WOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!! 😃
Looks like a well made tutorial but I think most people would appreciate seeing the animation at the beginning of the video. I love learning but I'm not going to sit down and follow a step-by-step tutorial without knowing what I'm making. Maybe even include it in the video description or at the very least at the end of the video? Hopefully this doesn't come across as snarky, just some genuine feedback!
So Im trying to follow up your challenge but When I drop in the Cube after connecting these 2 modifiers nothing happens but I'm just getting a warrrning, could anyone help?
I am not getting any volumetrics - in viewport nor in render. Blender 3.1.2 on Mac. Eevee properly selected, Bloom/AO/Volumetric lighting are enabled. World has a Principled volume shader. Film-Transparency is off. Any ideas? Thanks!
Awesome! There was quite a wow effect when you turned up the lights after placing them behind the object! Really cool! - How would one bring such a thing (with GN) to something like Three? Would be interested in seeing videos covering that topic.
It’s odd, no matter what version of blender I run I never seem to have any of the required geometry nodes. Are you using a add on? Or a setting that I’m not? Any help would be nice.
@@lenversteeg2293 it seems to just be a blatant difference in versions of blender. I updated to the very very latest and it seemed to have all the things I needed. Not working for me at all... Anyone out there know why the original cube disappears when attaching the node for the cube, but the array of cube instances doesn't appear (*as shown @3:03)? Following step-by-step, and it's only four steps in, sooo... ??? Don't know what I'm doing wrong, but I'm sure it's something simple.
I've explored every Geometry Node available, and the only way I can get anything to appear is to add an "Instances To Points" node after the "Instances On Points" node. But instead of the small cube instances showing up, the instances are just small 2D square that always orientate towards the view, and the square has a fake contour shadow on it like you get sometimes when you Shade Smooth a square-ish object before textures. Literally following every step, stopping the video to mimic everything exactly before moving on to the next step. I'm using a fresh install of Blender 3.0.1, and it didn't work for me with 3.0, either.
Okay, I figured it out! My mistake was that I was trying to use Geometry Nodes starting with the source cube selected, rather than with the plane mesh. Like I said, I knew it had to be me being stupid. But I'm a little bit smarter now because of it. ;)
Just now watching this and followed basically everything, turned out GREAT, the only issue im having is when i go into my camera view i lose the bloom from my point lights, what can i do to fix this?

Also play with the power and radius of your lights

did you get a new editor?
