In this #blender #geometrynodes tutorial I will talk about how useful the wave texture is for making looping animations in geometry nodes! We will then make a cool #motiongraphics loop and render it so that we can have something cool to walk away with!

I know that you are not interested in the full tuts, because you got stuff to do. But, I appreciate it when you do conduct one. You hit the functions that are not always at the forefront of the standard Blenderhead tutorial.
I really like how you first present the basic idea in the first couple of minutes, delivering the payload for those of us already proficient, then go into the step-by-step for those unfamiliar with the pieces you've described earlier. That's a great teaching technique. I think if I had to sit thru a 15 minute video to find out you're saying "the wave texture loops very easily" I'd not be nearly as interested in your channel.
I’m glad you liked that! I think it makes all skill levels enjoy the video
very well put lol
you know what i'd watch? i'd watch a whole masterclass from you just talking about where you get your inspiration for colors . coz i do not understand how you come up with these perfect palettes every friggin time. it's crazy.
It’s going to be in the course I’m writing right now
@@TheDucky3D HELL YES!
For me to find good colors I will generally just search up faded pastel color pallette for example and then use the hex codes from there.
Great job explaining and demonstrating the magic of the wave texture. It's quick, versatile, and it does the mathing for you! We get precision and time-saving at the same time. Love it!
It’s so fun!
really great and useful video!! always love your content!! keep up the good work!!!😊
Another absolute banger of a tutorial, thank you!
Nice Tutorial. Thank you so much.
Smart moves with the wave texture. It also makes it less random and more fluid. I admire your creativity man, great stuff!!
Thanks!
awesome tutorial!
Yeeeeah new Ducky3D!!! I'm glad you have a few days between uploads cuz my last render took 4 days on my no-GPU PC lmao but totally worth it. Thank you for the education!!!
Haha well I’ll be posting a lot now so look out
bro u are a genius !
really awesome...plz make more tutorial..Thanku

Oh Ducky, you’ve done it again. Great video about something I never had heard of before.
Im glad you liked it!!

I appreciate that!!
Nice tutorial!💥
Thanks!
Thanks Nate!
You got it!
This is distinct + excellent animation joh=eun info ! 🖱
고요한 구체처럼 보입니다.
Hi and thanks for your tutorials. Would it be possible to use them to create speed lines generated by a car like in a cartoon style? If so, can you make a tuto? thanks 🙂
as a blender noob, this taught me a lot more than just nodes
I introduced some drivers and now I can chose exactly how many cycles the animation goes through per second without any keyframes! I just need to make sure that my timeline is a multiple of 24 frames long.
You are one of the best Geo node tutors on youtube, not to say others are bad, you seem to take the polish to the next level and its always consistent.
how do you export the animation in a fbx instead of a video
When is the next update for Realtime Materials planned ?
You could more efficiently set the lights to point at the object with the TRACK TO constraints
Great tutorial. I'd ask all Tutorial makers to perhaps enlarge the menu screens for those of us with less than optimal vision 8-)
Excellent! We wanted to ask you a question, is there any way to use a metaball instead of an ico sphere? Since we couldn't find a way to add metaballs, thank you very much!
You can’t use metaballs in geo nodes right now
@@TheDucky3D ahh ok, Thanks so much for the info!!!
Nice
Thanks!
I cannot figure out how are you getting the scene state like 1:10. You have a plane mesh, but at the same time you have an ico sphere in the geometry node layout. I cannot reproduce this. Could you please be more specific?
how to do the same thing but on faces?
Again if you hover mouse over timeline and press T you can change to Linear or Bezier quicker than opening up menu.
Again
Hey, where did you get that 3d node model from the thumbnail?
I made it
@@TheDucky3D It looks awsome!
How did you make that wave texture node spinning animation at the start ?
Is that an addon ?
That was geometry nodes
@@TheDucky3D Do you have its course ?
Is it possible to create a music visualizer this way that reacts to the sound file?
Yes!
I think one thing would be better: If the cylinder deformed as the ball enters or leaves it. Like a cannon
Is there any specific reason the phase offset is keyed at the end to 12*pi? Is that the only formula that loops, or would any number multiplied by pi give us looping offsets?
Edit: Disregard. I just missed the "Specify an even number" comment. Thanks.
What is the logic that any even # * pie works, if you don't mind sharing?
Wave texture loops at 2*pi, so you could also do (any integer * tau).
It has been explained to me that it has to do with the formula for a circumference, that 2*pi*r=360 degrees, so any even number would be half that number in rotations, i.e. 12=6*2*pi*r, so 6 rotations.
12:58 looks for a moment like that hotline bling music video
extra credit - make the balls the same color as the pipe they came out of
My bevel is causing severe artifacts on the caps of the cylinder ring. I don't know if its caused by the boolean process or if its the bevel modifier.
Bring the profile slider that I used all the way to the right on that modifier, that will fix it
@TheDucky3D nope...this bevel modifier does not like what the boolean does to the geometry. I went into edit and beveled it there on the one side and it looks acceptable.
Is there any course out there that can explain geometry nodes from very basics for those who are dumb in geometry and linear algebra? Like geometry nodes for dum dummies☺
hello i have good pc but it still stop render animation what can be problem, this animation is not that complex, i think RTX3060 should done it?!!
When will there be a real time material update?
Working on a baker that I hope to out soon!
@@TheDucky3D ? Ok. I hope you include a space suit aluminum type of material. Thanks. Still love RM!
@@EROSNERdesign absolutely!!
👍👍👍👍
Boss mode, activated.
Yes!!
Thanks for the awesome tutorial Nathan! I did a few slight changes and added some sound from my band to make this:

Almost!
ill never understand geometry nodes for the life of me
It was hard for me when I started!

Am I first?
Yes!! Congrats
