    In this #blender #geometrynodes tutorial I will talk about how useful the wave texture is for making looping animations in geometry nodes! We will then make a cool #motiongraphics loop and render it so that we can have something cool to walk away with!

    I know that you are not interested in the full tuts, because you got stuff to do. But, I appreciate it when you do conduct one. You hit the functions that are not always at the forefront of the standard Blenderhead tutorial.

    I really like how you first present the basic idea in the first couple of minutes, delivering the payload for those of us already proficient, then go into the step-by-step for those unfamiliar with the pieces you've described earlier. That's a great teaching technique. I think if I had to sit thru a 15 minute video to find out you're saying "the wave texture loops very easily" I'd not be nearly as interested in your channel.

    Is there any specific reason the phase offset is keyed at the end to 12*pi? Is that the only formula that loops, or would any number multiplied by pi give us looping offsets?
    Edit: Disregard. I just missed the "Specify an even number" comment. Thanks.

    • @spindriftstudio2727
      @spindriftstudio2727 11 місяців тому

      What is the logic that any even # * pie works, if you don't mind sharing?

    • @fuglsnef
      @fuglsnef 11 місяців тому

      Wave texture loops at 2*pi, so you could also do (any integer * tau).

    • @Stephen-T-Clark
      @Stephen-T-Clark 11 місяців тому

      It has been explained to me that it has to do with the formula for a circumference, that 2*pi*r=360 degrees, so any even number would be half that number in rotations, i.e. 12=6*2*pi*r, so 6 rotations.

    My bevel is causing severe artifacts on the caps of the cylinder ring. I don't know if its caused by the boolean process or if its the bevel modifier.

      @TheDucky3D nope...this bevel modifier does not like what the boolean does to the geometry. I went into edit and beveled it there on the one side and it looks acceptable.
