    Epilepsy Warning!
Last week I got 4 lovebirds delivered to my city at about 4:30 am
In this video I will unbox and show you how to interact with newly bought birds. Enjoy (continue reading)
    added note: (18, October, 2017)
These 4 lovebirds had only been in transport for 3 hours, and they spent most of this time sleeping, as they were traveling at night. They were sent to me by a passenger coming to my city by bus, who took a good care of this lovebird box while on the way until it was handed to me..
    P.s.
Contrary to what I was guessing in that moment, These lovebirds are 100% Captive bred.
Lovebirds are native to Africa, and were popularized all over the world in 1930s due to their striking colors and their ability to breed perfectly in captivity. The numerous color morphs seen in captive lovebirds is a result of selective breeding. Selective breeding in captivity led to creating color mutations never seen before... Just like the lovebirds in my video.
The only wild lovebirds live in Africa; which is faaaaaar away to where I live so getting them here would cost thousands of $$$ and it's just not logical and completely immoral to take birds away from their natural habitat. I have been looking all the shelters for more than a month to find lovebirds for adoption; I had no luck with it. I even checked the pet shops around me to find lovebirds, but there were none available. Luckily I found a seller online who lives in a different city near by... so after all this time that I was looking for lovebirds I was super excited to have found these 4 online! I quickly banked in the cost to him and thankfully he was genuine, and he actually sent someone to deliver the birds to me... Not like some scammer online who takes your money and disappears. So this all happened so fast that I didn't get to acquire more information about where they come from? are they tame? what is their mutation and etc... What I said in the video is just what I was thinking in that moment because I had just texted him asking "are they tame?" before opening the box (because I wanted to come up with the strategy to introduce them to their new place), in which the supplier replied "no sir be aware!" Right in that moment the thought came to my mind that they might not have been bred in captivity and I shared it with you guys which was totally wrong.
The lovebirds in my video are 100% captive bred from a home aviary; they just are not hand tamed. Lovebirds in general are easy to breed and due to their natural tendency towards mating. They spend more of their time caring for their mate and that's where they get their names from. if you can provide a lovebird pair with enough space to fly around, a nest and proper food; They could live happily ever after... unlike some birds that feel uncomfortable in captivity due to their wild instinct of migrating, Lovebirds can do fine in one spot and they naturally would never want to leave their nesting area. They dedicate their life to their mate and they can multiply in numbers very quickly. Many people's lovebirds lay eggs and make babies at least once a year, in which they tend to give to other people, for reasons like not having enough space or making too much noise n etc.
Hope you enjoy this episode and please give it a thumbs up, for more bird videos to come :)

Nop, I had my 3 to 4 weeks new born love birds, accidentally escaped from the box, I was like 40min going round him with my hand in a sock to get it close to him, rub his foot then belly and finally rubbing his back so I could catch him again and put it in the cage so they gain trust fast but don't expect from the 1st day to do tricks, it depends on the bird, the young it is the faster they will learn.

Lovebirds don't have the fat reserves most other birds do. That is why there is a risk that they will die if they don't get food within a 24 hour period.
They are probably lethargic because they didn't have any food or water during their bus trip.

You need a much larger stand for all your birds. Given you just introduced four territorial birds, you will need to add more appropriate toys for the parrots (yes, love birds are a type of parrot), and increase the food for all of them, along with space.
Other than that, your birds look healthy and well cared for.

Did you quarantine the flock before having them around your other birds? Very important as a sick bird can kill all of your other birds. You should also be careful having the lovebirds around the budgies and smaller birds once they’re sexually mature. Their beaks can really do damage to them.

I watched this two years ago trying to learn how to tame my newest per birds....
What I didn’t know was that his tactics were crap (no offense) these birds were clearly already used to humans and other birds overall
Lovebirds are very territorial species of birds he put a budgie, no TWO budgies up their faces and they didn’t even respond. I did this to my two lovebirds with my budgie and they went crazy.
Also his way he tamed them was very very bad. He ran after them chasing them with his arm before letting them get used to their home. YOU 👏 ARENT 👏 SUPPOSED 👏 TO 👏 DO 👏 THAT.
These birds were also clearly handled and tamed before by humans. They knew right away how to step up. That doesn’t just happen omg.

We raised birds in the 70's. My mom was into raising some of the most finicky type birds that brought high dollar on the resale market but only in small quanities. They all got treated with love and attention. We always sold them with no problem. Some people waited weeks for their new baby birds. We didnt believe in mass market type breeders and being raised in a home made them more comfortable. It was a pain pussy footing around when eggs were brooding. My mom always kept them in her bedroom in special houses. They were song birds mostly. Canaries, budgees and two parrots. The baby parrots always produced expencive babys. The parrots could and did swear some, but mostly asked for a beer.lol.

Don't try to make them interact. Don't make eye contact or talk to them. Go on your daily routine but stay close enough to be seen. And get closer and observe their body language. @jurrerincker3255 3 роки тому

@@ParakeetWorld Hi to go to the vet you only need a travel cage. Also the bird species he owns are social birds. They want to be with eachother. Also if they would like to be alone they have more space in a room then in a cage. If one of the budgies wants to be alone from the other it just flies to the other corner of the room. Also this way the birds learn to fly better this way.

They actually ship living Critters in boxes. Poor Babies !!! They were Lucky to get you, but what of others !?!

    • @EidolonSpecus
      @EidolonSpecus 5 років тому +13

Thousands of "shipped" animals die every year. The boxes are often not properly reinforced. Crushing accidents happen. Or the packages can get caught up in-between stages for a bit too long and the animals die of thirst, stress, or overheating, only to arrive dead or critically ill at their destination. Some sellers even send "replacements" as a warranty if your "purchase" expires during transit. Animals get treated like mindless objects by thrash people, and those people who should definitely be shot. Educating them is proven ineffective at reducing the harm they cause.
This case is not all that bad compared to what is often done.

Before I got the lovebirds I didn't have much maintenance with the 2 budgies and 3 finches because they liked their branches and were used to sit on them, it was like their home where they spent most their time hanging out. In the video you can see that I've put a board in between the branches and the ground, to avoid their droppings on the floor, and on the board I lay newspapers or flyers so I can throw them away and put new ones at least twice a week. and I used to broom the floor around them because they are messy eaters and throw a lot of their food on the floor, also some of their droppings that would make it to the floor I had to scrape with Scraper Tool.
When the Lovebids came in the picture they also liked the branches and considered it as their home, I've uploaded an uncut time lapse of all the birds waking up to show how well they had adapted to their place: ua-cam.com/video/u38aHBcvOAg/v-deo.html
But the lovebirds were very naughty and since they were in a flock they liked to fly around often, make loud noises and mess things around in the house, so I had to spend a lot of time watching and cleaning after them. I explain more about the issues I had with them here: ua-cam.com/video/wPOT2s1psHo/v-deo.htmlm12s
These reasons led me to make a mini aviary and move them there but after few days I realized that they really were not what I was looking for, I wanted a companion parrot that's friendly and I was advised to get a green cheek conure because they can bond with their owners very well. It's almost impossible to have an intense relation with a lovebird that's in a flock of 4. So I found all my birds new homes and got 1 green cheek instead, If you wanna see how she looks like check the link bellow, I also address the lovebirds at 11:40 in the same video: ua-cam.com/video/MgLBo3mbn6s/v-deo.html
