I owned my lovebirb for 15 years before he passed away - I feel the same, and didn't think I would get so much love and joy out of such a small creature. I was so sad when he died but happy to have given him a long happy birb life 💜

My lovebird suddenly died a week ago. His name was Zippy and he was very playful. He was not a simple pet , he was a family member and we will miss him a lot. All what you said is so true.

Oh yeah i noticed that after a while my lovebird didn't poop on tables or the Sofa... Or my shoulder.. He searches for an edge to make poopie on the floor SUCH A GOOD BOI

I have had cockatiels. They were hand tamed from babies. They were smart, loving, curious. The down side is they need a lot more attention than most people realize. If you have chronic migraines, the noise will kill you unless they get several hours of attention out of the cage every day. They are messy. They knock bird seed out from cage, must vacuum a lot and make sure water dish clean and food dish too. They poop a lot. Some people put cloth on their shoulder when bird out. The more time you spend, the more talkative and tricks they do. They love to chew on paperback books, and at first chewed almost all my shoes, until put shoes in laundry basket and put in closet and kept closet door shut. And chewed several electric cords until I taped them off the floor. They do grow out of these in time if you get on to them. However if you let them follow you from room to room, they will chew wallpaper, baseboards, tables and furniture. You can cut down on this buy putting out 4 or 5 toys a week, change them every week. You can buy toys at Dollar Tree cheaply, much cheaper than shoes and computer cords. Check with pet store or utube to find out from expert what to feed them. It varies with type of bird. This novice seems very nice but if you are researching what kind of bird fits your lifestyle, do's and don'ts and bird traits, ask an expert. A vet, pet shop owner, or expert on utube or SPCA, or long time owner of bird you want. If you don't have time for bird, get a dog or cat. Don't forget to ask what the average lifespan is.

So true!!! Lovebirds are love spreaders! I didn't realy plan to get one but I rehomed one (about 3 mths old one), the person was so in hurry to give it away...once I got home I started to read about how to tame and got upset as they say over 3 mnths is too late to tame. I still gave it a go, spend a lot of time with her ( lockdown) and she became my bestie!!! My depression went away😁 she needs so much attention love and affection, and making her happy makes me happy! I've made lots of toys for her as they quickly get bored and need new things to shred and destroy 😂😂😂 that also keeps me happy because I love to create new things...stands, playgrounds, swings etc.
Rehomeing her was the best decision I've ever made!!!
And it's true that they have personality 😄mine is playful and bossy, also she knows she's not supposed to destroy my home so she makes sure I don't see what she does, watches me to make sure I'm not looking😂😂😂

I recently got 3 love birds! Two are a couple in their own cage and the other is one of their kids thats now a young adult in it’s own separate cage. The couple just stay in their cage and are very territorial and feisty but their offspring is super curious and gentle and easy to play with. I love them so much they’re so beautiful to look at and your channel has given me so many tips! 👌🏽

My lovebird is my best friend. He is so loving, fun, funny and smart. Everything second of attention, love and training you put into them gets paid back 1000 times. A tip for not waking up too early from them, set up the lights around their cage on a fixed timer. Having a clear bedtime and time to wake up is super nice for them. Happy loves his schedule. Be patient with your lovebird, respect their boundaries and earn their trust and love. Every day is special with a little friend like my bird.
I also have a female lovebird and i love her to bits!!! ❤❤❤❤

My lovebird wakes up around 6 in the morning too but as long as my room is dark, he won't make a sound. I normally cover up my window with a blanket for this reason, until i wake up myself. I also cover up because he wants to eat the dirt from my plants that are standing in the window haha

The funny thing is that love birds are smart. My baby love bird love her chop with a couple of seeds on it but when she is still hungry for seeds she flys down when no one is in the room and go inside her bag of seeds and eats smh she is a sneaky bird lol

I have a very funny lovebird that doesn’t know it’s a bird. Lol. It plays with the cat and try’s to eat the treats we give the cat, it is bonded to me and goes wherever I go, and later enjoys his ‘private’ time lol. Squeaker is the bird I have with the biggest personality. Lmao

My Peachface Lovebird would growl when I growled. It learned to poop in her cage before I took her out. I never taught her that. But yes, loud in the mornings. I learned to clip her wings enough that she would just flutter to the ground. She shredded everything. I mimicked her calls and whistles. I understand when she was excited, curious or lost. Also the noises when she was playing. Great pet. But she also got sick and passed away. Ill get another one, one day.
