She started loving me to bits and come out her cage to fly over to me no matter where I sat in our living room. And when ever I come home she would tell me to open the cage and talk to her. It's a long story but she once flew away as my dad forgot the cage was open and he opened a window wide. My dad's friend said you won't get her back now she is free. I said leave her cage and open the window wider. She was far away on top of a roof so I called her and shook a box of seeds. Then I seen her flicker far away then fly back to me. My 2 all I haft to do is open the cage in the morning to let them out and play all day and keep it open every evening between 6:30 and 7 o clock they go back into the cage on their own and wont come out again into the next morning. Still having a hard time training them I can get one to sit on my finger for a few seconds then jumps right off the other one cant get her to do anything.
Thank you so much!! Although my budgies can step up on my finger, there is 1 problem. When I get them to step up on my finger one day, the next day they just fear me. I encourage them to step up on my finger with millet everyday to gain its trust but then the next day I just lose their trust again. 😅 So I would like to know how to tame them without losing trust like halfway through. But keep up the good work!! ✨✨

Thank you! I enjoyed watching! I have 2 questions.. What is the name of regular grains you give? And another question.. I mentioned that one blue bird blink much more often that others.. And then i saw a shaved tummy of this bird,, I also have one bird who blinks often and doctors and I can not find a reason. Do you know why it happens in your case? A shaved tummy was the reason of it? Hope to receive your answer!
I had a budgie. I've had her for about a month and a half now, I've tried all of your taming methods, and nothing has worked. When I try the fingers on the perch method, she immediately flys out of her cage. While it may take a while, she'll go back into her cage on her own. She's not food motivated.
I would like to build a large cage in my bedroom and host maybe a dozen budgies. Should I have a separate isolation cage for the one I am training and introduce them to the flock one at as time? I have read that buying birds that were raised together is the best idea so how do I purchase a group and then train them?
I did have a mirror in the cage, also changed toys often. Both birds were let out everyday. Until the manager of the building said I couldn't let them out but told her where she could go.
Thank you a lot! This really helped me as I am getting a budgie. Watched all your videos, also what name should I name it? Just reply it. (My budgie will be a boy)
I did that a week ago let thwm out to fly and use a stick they can step up on to get them in the cage Use millets to get them close to u mine 2 already steps on my finger and flise to me when outside . I inly have one cage
This was such a fun video! I have a budgie pair and they are VERY hot for one another. They have not been tamed. I’m wondering if I should even try to let them breed.
My budgie is 13 weeks old and is beginning to be tame. I got him at 10 weeks old. He likes to come out of the cage but just sits on the curtains. He has a playground but just sits on the perch. He doesnt bother with toys at all and not interested in fruit or veg. I love him to bits but wish he would interact more. I talk and sing to him a lot
I have more.. I got Maxie. An adult male (1yr. We think) from a local bird rescue 4 years ago. It's something I wanted to do this time. This is my 5th. So we never know where they were found, or what they've been through, but he was healthy- they check that. But they clip their wings. They are birds. They fly. I don't beleive in clipping, so he's out all day, exploring and happy. He immediately took over the TV, my computer keyboard and my phone for the first few days. Last month he begsn sitting on my shoulder and nuzzling my neck for the first time, and comes around me when Im reading or watching TV. But training? Whoa! Eating fresh fruits and veggies...no way! Touching? Nope. Stand on my finger? Not yet. Its coming along. And I'm home mostly , but everyone must remember to be patient and it takes work, but worth every minute! Each one is different for sure. 🎉❤ 🦜
it's interesting how one of Minecraft's random descriptions or add-ons you see on the menu is "Don't feed birds avocado!" as I didn't know that was actually the truth xD
Hello, I watch your channel a lot and am asking for specific advice. 2 of my budgies are tamed as I've had them since they were around 1 month old, but one of them has past trauma from the breeder I got them from. I've noticed this has affected my budgie as she seems to space out and flinch or lean away and stare into nothing if I raise my finger above her to pet her, or if my hand is behind her. This is due to her seeing the breeders hand reach into the nest box and grabbing her for the first time and passing her around very quickly while other birds in the cage were screaming and flying around.. How do I help her overcome this? She is almost 7 months old now. She eats from my hand and steps up, but freaks out when my hand or finger goes above her head.
Hi Older budgies need more patience, if she is in trauma from the breeder, try to keep your finger/hand at eye level and not above it. This is very common for budgies, and because of that it is also likely that she won't like being pet at all and that's normal too, some budgies just don't like being touched.
I've been trying to train my budgie for over 2 months now, but haven't been successful. I've done everything you said but it doesn't seem to work out. What can I do? Btw thanks Kermit :)
Hi! Ours was the same now he sits on our shoulder, gives kisses and likes scratches. It took 6 month. It would have taken less if we had removed his food. We stopped having food in the cage and gave him millet when hungry and we also put food in his cage and cage on our table at dinnertime. Only then dud he start eating veggies and sallad. He had been owned by a family where he did not leave his cage at all!!! He was over 2 years old. So the cage was his safe spot. Give him time. You really won't regret it. Now he has food in his cage but still comes for mullet treats or just to cuddle. I love him so much my heart breaks ❤❤❤
What a brilliant video, my friend owns a wonderful pet shop, he sells fish, reptiles and has an aviary and several cages of different types of birds , he often takes in birds whilst their owners are on holiday, so the other day, I noticed a budgie in a cage on its own near to the Aviary and at first I presumed it was a holiday bird as he wasn’t in the aviary, when I walked away, he followed my movements in his cage, moving to what ever side I was, so I went back to him, and it was then I noticed the card, saying hand reared 9 month old budgie, and that he was for sale, I had brought a big cage a few months earlier as I my Dad had an aviary and we always had a budgie in the house, after giving it some thought, I decided to buy him, I asked if I could leave him there and pick him up at the weekend, so I could make sure I got everything ready, when I got home and looked at the cage, I realised it was extremely big and way too big to have in my main sitting space, but a great cage for him in the future, as I am moving to a much bigger house in the future, my friend had been offering him with the cage, I called and asked if I could still buy the cage he was in, my friend actually gave me the cage at a much reduced price and it’s a beautiful cage , and I felt it was nice for him to stay in familiar surroundings to begin with, I got him last Sunday and my intention was eventually to try and teach him to speak, he seemed to settle very quickly and was chatting to himself in the mirror and when I went up to the cage, he would come straight to where I was and I would speak to him, what I can’t believe is in one week he is saying “pretty boy” clever boy, “hello, I then decided to add in his name yesterday, and today he is saying “ pretty boy Skye”, the people in the shop hadn’t taught him to talk, and I named him Skye, is it normal for a budgie to learn to speak that fast?
What a bright bird,we were 7 in our family,he would sit on us but never spoke words! He spent a few days with our neighbors female bird who kept biting him every time he was near and after the female bird bit off her own leg at the knee joint they returned our bird.ps No babies. He never got close enough!!!She was one angry female!
Our bird was found by grandpa in a puddle of gasoline and oil at a gas station He cleaned him up and brought Tippy to us from Ann Arbor to 8Mile and Mack our first PET!

I had parakeets and cockatiels and my husband took care of them. Clipped their wings. But I don't remember him ever clipping their nails. If I have sandpaper purchase, is that good enough for helping them take care of their claws? I'm planning on getting parakeets on friday.
We’ve got a lil 7-10 month budgie who we rescued from outside and no one would take him, he’s very nervous of hands and always ALWAYS bites if he thinks he’s been tricked into standing on your hand, he doesn’t like millet much, we’ve had him about 3 months and we’ve given him a lot of attention in that time, he hates us going in or near his cage and is only really friendly out the cage, as when he’s out the cage he loves getting near us and sitting on our phones or sitting on his treat, so any tips with getting him more accustomed to hands is much appreciated as we want the best for our new lil guy :)))

It makes me IMMENSELY HEARTBROKE to think that there are people out in the world that hit their Budgies. It makes me sick to think that they would abuse ANY ANIMAL be it physically, emotionally, etc.... Only people who have evil hearts would do such a thing because it is common sense to know that hitting something will NOT teach it to do better! It will only teach it that you are an enemy. They will then either turn violent towards you or be extremely scared of you! Doesn't it make sense that those things would happen? I'm just mind blown at someone who would actually hit a friggin BIRD! Like, WHAT?!!! OBVIOULSY i feel that way towards any animal....you just look at birds....they barely have anything to them! Like...how would one hit them? (could literally cry at the thought) You know?! Anyway! I would like to thank you for making this channel and the videos. They have been very helpful for me! :)

Hi Salvador budgie! I now know a lot for these furry animals. But I’ve got a problem! I don’t know what my budgies ages are. Is their anyway I could know? Thank you for your time ! -gam
I'm not even a quarter-way into the video-- I love your video thus far!! But how about trying towel training and perch-touching/stepping up on to (a moving perch used for vet care as example.) From vets I've spoken to- they want birds towel trained and perch trained. Because step-up on hand works for us, as owners, less so for gloved vets ....so glove training is great - but also soft towel hold-training (bigger birds I assume but budgies if critical too,) Exposing them to the averse and habituating it/conditioning is best? Maybe a future vet care video is on the horizon? :P Your channel is amazing, thank you... but towel training might be a fun/good thing to show case (a bird comfy in a towel, soft hold. Or wrapped for broken wing etc. Sole reasons vets use it.) Stick/exterior perch training is also helpful to vets.

Thanks so Much! 1 week in and I'm so thankful!!!
I subscribed u are one of the best budgie tubers
Hey I have the exact same problem but lets keep trying ^^
@@nyolic1 thanks^^ they are like semi tamed now ✨💗

Thanks so much I am getting a budgie as a pet
My birds personality is the crazy and friendly bird😂
It took me a year to tame my bird. Take your bird to an avian vet. They have great packages on how to train and make a happy healthy bird
Im a bad owner 😭😞😭😞😭😞😭😞 omg thanks i never got so many likes btw i changed im a beter owner and my bugie arent scared enimore
Me too 😭 I never noticed! 😢😭🥺
Than don't have a bird!
@@sabrinareddington5801 I didn’t realise what I haven’t given it ( scratches/grooming ) so don’t tell me what to do.
I am a bad owner to even tho she had 6 eggs😢
Me too 😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢
i love your channel💘💘💝❤💟💕😍😘♥
I ❤ ur channel it helps me soooo much
I would like to build a large cage in my bedroom and host maybe a dozen budgies. Should I have a separate isolation cage for the one I am training and introduce them to the flock one at as time? I have read that buying birds that were raised together is the best idea so how do I purchase a group and then train them?
You have helped me out a lot thank you 😊
This helped me a lot because I have four buggies
Super informative video!! ❤
Thanks bro i just got 2 budgies recently and I needed to know this so now I tame them 1 at a time
this vid already has 100k! ❤
I have a question
What if you bring two budgies home together?
Then how can you tame it if you only have one cage
Please answeer if you can
I did that a week ago let thwm out to fly and use a stick they can step up on to get them in the cage
Use millets to get them close to u mine 2 already steps on my finger and flise to me when outside .
I inly have one cage
I’ve learned a lot from these videos❤❤
This was such a fun video! I have a budgie pair and they are VERY hot for one another. They have not been tamed. I’m wondering if I should even try to let them breed.
My budgie is 13 weeks old and is beginning to be tame. I got him at 10 weeks old. He likes to come out of the cage but just sits on the curtains. He has a playground but just sits on the perch. He doesnt bother with toys at all and not interested in fruit or veg. I love him to bits but wish he would interact more. I talk and sing to him a lot
my bird is a a crazy bird and naturally friendly
Thank you for your help!
Thanks a lot bird nuggets on of u're biggest fan
Hi
Older budgies need more patience, if she is in trauma from the breeder, try to keep your finger/hand at eye level and not above it.
Hey, did you end up managing to train your budgie?
14:29 o just got a parakeet and I don’t know what personality he has yet lol. I want a “energy bomb” tho😊❤
My cocktail sings everytime so I can't sleep well 😂😂 but I don't punish it it is funny to me
What a brilliant video, my friend owns a wonderful pet shop, he sells fish, reptiles and has an aviary and several cages of different types of birds , he often takes in birds whilst their owners are on holiday, so the other day, I noticed a budgie in a cage on its own near to the Aviary and at first I presumed it was a holiday bird as he wasn’t in the aviary, when I walked away, he followed my movements in his cage, moving to what ever side I was, so I went back to him, and it was then I noticed the card, saying hand reared 9 month old budgie, and that he was for sale, I had brought a big cage a few months earlier as I my Dad had an aviary and we always had a budgie in the house, after giving it some thought, I decided to buy him, I asked if I could leave him there and pick him up at the weekend, so I could make sure I got everything ready, when I got home and looked at the cage, I realised it was extremely big and way too big to have in my main sitting space, but a great cage for him in the future, as I am moving to a much bigger house in the future, my friend had been offering him with the cage, I called and asked if I could still buy the cage he was in, my friend actually gave me the cage at a much reduced price and it’s a beautiful cage , and I felt it was nice for him to stay in familiar surroundings to begin with, I got him last Sunday and my intention was eventually to try and teach him to speak, he seemed to settle very quickly and was chatting to himself in the mirror and when I went up to the cage, he would come straight to where I was and I would speak to him, what I can’t believe is in one week he is saying “pretty boy” clever boy, “hello, I then decided to add in his name yesterday, and today he is saying “ pretty boy Skye”, the people in the shop hadn’t taught him to talk, and I named him Skye, is it normal for a budgie to learn to speak that fast?
What a bright bird,we were 7 in our family,he would sit on us but never spoke words! He spent a few days with our neighbors female bird who kept biting him every time he was near and after the female bird bit off her own leg at the knee joint they returned our bird.ps No babies. He never got close enough!!!She was one angry female!
@@Grandma_Ma I will post a video of him talking give me a few days
Our bird was found by grandpa in a puddle of gasoline and oil at a gas station He cleaned him up and brought Tippy to us from Ann Arbor to 8Mile and Mack our first PET!
Good subject, thank you very much
Thank you so much for it 😊
Bird nuggets I've learned alot of stuff from you so i can get a bird soon ❤ I've wanted a cockatail sense i was 4 maybe soon i can get one i want to get one on hallowen thank you ❤😂🎉 4:15 😂 have a good day❤
Love this video💖
Thank you cookie birb.❤
Hey how did you go? I had no luck with my budgie inside her cage but she is much more friendly outside.

Hey pls answer this I have two birds and I wanna teach them to trust me but you said doing tame 2 is there a way I can tame both or no?
Hi salvadar budgie i like your videos
Hello
One budgie came to our chickens few days ago. It is eating food around them... Today I bought budgie food.
How to tame that type of budgie. It has freedom, it can fly away any moment...
Any advice?
Thank you
Hi I rly need some advice only one of my birds get on my hand without biting me so I decided to take him out but when I did there was no space for him to land so he was flying around the house very stressed not being able to land and ends up falling. 2nd is that my other bird never wants to cooperate and always bites anyone in there way any advice?
Hii! For the toys, what do you recommend? Many toys have string and bells… I don’t know what to choose. Please answer as fast as you can.
23:41 havent watched full video im at this point this is my 2nd day with my 2 birds and no not true at all for me atleast. it only bites when i was holding it when i transferrered it from the small cage we used to transport it to the bigger one, otherwhise it just flies away
I have a lutino lovebird. Is the process same or is it easier to tame budgies?
I like your voice as you explain about a Budgie.
Can you do an explanation on Conuses?
My Conuse is much easier to get close to, but he still doesn't like anyone to touch him. How to get to pet a Conuse?
Thank You!
Hi Salvador budgie! I now know a lot for these furry animals. But I’ve got a problem! I don’t know what my budgies ages are. Is their anyway I could know? Thank you for your time ! -gam
Is it the number of black spots white beard
I'm not even a quarter-way into the video-- I love your video thus far!! But how about trying towel training and perch-touching/stepping up on to (a moving perch used for vet care as example.)
From vets I've spoken to- they want birds towel trained and perch trained. Because step-up on hand works for us, as owners, less so for gloved vets ....so glove training is great - but also soft towel hold-training (bigger birds I assume but budgies if critical too,)
Exposing them to the averse and habituating it/conditioning is best?
Maybe a future vet care video is on the horizon? :P
Your channel is amazing, thank you... but towel training might be a fun/good thing to show case (a bird comfy in a towel, soft hold. Or wrapped for broken wing etc. Sole reasons vets use it.) Stick/exterior perch training is also helpful to vets.
