🤘🤘
May I ask here if Delta Empire is doing well?
What program are you using to slow it down?
dope ass shiznit my man 😎🤘🏻
that album was so brutal when it cam out. One of the most underrated metal albums. Killing field is a bad ass opener.
....me listening to the into to killing fields 10 times in a row while drinking.
@@fearvo so you're one of those.... (same here)
First outing for Paul Bostaph so a great way to introduce him.
I know. The drums kick
yes yes and damn yes
Divine Intervention is their darkest most aggressive and progressive record. Easily.
You just described hell awaits
Those are my two favourite slayer records. Closely followed by Haunting the Chapel and South of Heaven.
@@Howard_the_Duck The only thing that held Hell Awaits back was the crap production. If it had the sound of RIB or any album after that it would have been crushing.
i get what you're saying but where does that leave God Hates Us All..!😅 My favourite.🤟
@@embracerodusk2537 I think the production suits the atmosphere of the album well. I dont think it would sound as good with a rick rubin production
that guitar is wicked.
And wicked it is , imagine flat black or crazy urban camo flat for Jeff tribute 👍🏻🤘🏻💯
Gary Holt’s personal pickups. He literally sold em to Ola! 🤘🏼
I love that guitar too 🤩
Fun too, when you have to somehow tune it in the middle of a 3 minute 37 second song.
I will never forget my 13th Birthday. It was a chilly Sept as I was rolling through the killer HMV Heavy Metal section with my Grandfather in downtown Toronto at the time and I saw this record on display. This album was released that week also, so I asked the employee to throw on Divine Intervention so I could hear just what this BAD ASS album cover sounded like, Slayer? Who? What? By the time Killing Fields was over I pulled off the headphones and I looked at my Gramps who instantly purchased this album for me as I became a Slayer fan right then and there... forever...
Still sits as my fav Metal album of all time to this day honestly. Thanks to my Grandpa for purchasing it for me, that record projected and opened the entire world of Heavy Metal for me. Metallica couldnt even do that, not the way Slayer could lol.
I miss my Grandfather everyday and Slayer as well.
GREAT video! 🤘💪
Next, please do "Ola Learns Cannibal Corpse" and do Condemnation Contagion. It's a good song to practice your power chording hand.
How about Frantic disembowelment, we'd get to see Ola losing his mind.
Frantic disembowlment is an insane track.
this album is underrated. some killer riffs on this album.
Divine Intervention - killer album
I love this album, always have! Great performance by Bostaph too
Yes defiitely an underrated Slayer album! Very consistent, and the guitar solos are even better then usually, they sound less like a random set of notes :-)
Bostaph > Lombardo
Bostaph slays on this album.. i like lombardo but this was another level.
This and Testament's Formation of Damnation are my 2 favourite Bostaph recordings.
"213" alone is haunting
Love this album too, and I agree, it´s very underrated!
Man I wish I could've slowed down riffs in the 80s/90s. Had to learn Slayer off the records. FYI: Kerry downpicks pretty much everything so he's likely downpicking that opening/main riff.
Yeah my 13 year old self is so jealous of this tech that makes learning songs so much easier. It was a nightmare having to rewind fucking cassettes over and over. I was really happy when I finally got a CD player and it had an option to loop a section and also delay starting a song after hitting play. Those were game changers at the time.
One of my favorite Slayer albums. Dittohead is pure awesomeness.
One of Slayers coolest album cover artwork! Jeff’s solos on that album are on point! 🤘
Jeff solos on this album are all the same. That's is the only thing not perfect on the set.
Wow, talk about inspiring Lamb Of God
Awesome Album. 213 is my absolute favourite.
I love this BC Rich Warlock guitar!!! Ola you should make more videos with that awesome guitar!
When you're learning the spider riff it reminds me so much of myself, even the look away as you try and force your brain to push through and remember the exact way it's meant to be played
Love Divine Intervention, so many classic songs 🤘🏻🤘🏻
Love when you do this stuff!! Happy vibes to you and your family Ola
Love this segment! Keep them coming Ola!
God I love this guitar!!! Glad you're making more videos with it! 🤘
I like this feature of your channel best! It brings back great memories and it's pretty inspirational to go back and relearn the stuff too. As you were playing I was thinking that you might be thinking, (like I would be thinking,) about incorporating the style into my own compositions. Which is really why I started learning other's songs anyway. ❤ Great one Ola, the channel is still as fresh and fun as ever.
Favorite Slayer song, favorite Slayer album. Great choice!
I love Sex, Murder, Art. That's a nasty piece of work.
This album came out in the height of grunge and alternative.
This album carried the faithful
Great segment OLA! A nice change and its very interactive for us all...more!!!
Ola, you are the man! I love that you picked such a deep cut!
Always loved these videos. Even though you're learning it's like you're teaching us
Yeah, Divine Intervention was the first Slayer album that got me out of flannel and into Thrash. For some reason folks love to hate on it and the Undisputed Attitude. They're both killer albums.
💯
And undisputed attitude is pure brutality
Where I’m from, flannels belonged to the thrashers before they became a Nirvana thing. Another reason that whole era pissed me off.
@@mattlebel how are people still holding a grudge against grunge 30 years later?
@@mattlebelthey didn't in LA or the Bay area. Sorry poser
@@jackbootshamangaming4541 poser? Seriously dude. How can it be poser-ish if we were doing it a full decade before grunge existed? Also I’m from Boston. It’s cold there. You needed to wear something between your tshirt and your leather jacket, thus, flannel.
Cliff Burton wore flannels. Guess he was a poser too? Countless photos of thrash bands wearing flannels in the 80s.
Love ittttt! The best is when I smile, you smile. 🤘 keep em’ coming!
Yes!!!!
These really are my favorite videos on the channel!
I remember you saying you would probably do more of these some time ago on discord vc, and you did!!
Keep up the great work Ola, I love the title track from this album.
Love the guitar work on this whole album!!
🤘🏻🤘🏻
Always love your learns videos… so pls Ola give us other videos like this!
Thx man
Excellent choice! I love this album, underrated for sure.
Ola learns!!!!!!. These videos are my favorites! ❤
Thank You! I have loved Slayer since Hell Awaits, therefore I know very few songs 😢. It was so difficult picking up the needle, counting the groves to go back and learn songs, I learned very few. Thank you for the trick to learning these crazy spider riffs. Keep doing what your doing you’re very inspiring even to us old guys lol🤘
DIVINE INTERVENTION and PRIDE & GLORY were the first music purchases I made with my own money when I was fresh out of boot camp. Great times, great albums, and man, you absolutely DEMOLISHED it!
DDDUUUUDDEEE I am so pumped you chose this, love that riff
What a cool song choice. Divine Intervention is my favorite Slayer album too🤘
Love this series! Keep em coming 🤘
Bostaph drumming on this record is killer. Killing fields blew me away when I started to play drums. Also Diabolus and God hates us all have amazing drum parts.
Love your channel, especially the how to videos. Keep them coming.
Fictional Reality is a killer tune! First time seeing Slayer was this tour in early 95' at Hara Arena in Dayton, OH, Biohazard, Machinehead were on the bill as well.....Good shit Ola!
I love biohazard!!!!
Everything about this video is Metal. 🤘This one was fun. Thanks, Ola
quick learner! i like watching your process. helps me
Nicely done. Was fun to watch your process and your expressions as you powered through. There wasn't alot of space or rest. Hope you do more soon.😊
Dude. This was such a fun video! I laughed several times. A very relatable video. A true archive of the human metalhead guitarist to be put in a time capsule. I've written more as I've gotten older, but how did I ever lose my way and stop cranking the stereo and amp and just stand there and play along with a killer song? Thanks man!
Salute from Brazil!
The one thing that always got me about slayer, is that despite all the hectic leads the rhythm groove when it hits has always been just so badass. So groovy man.
Man that was awesome. I can't stress this enough but the Warlock is amazing. Cheers buddy
Great Job Ola! I haven't heard that album for a while. Great suff!
Loved it. Love the album and the video.
Great job Ola! That was suck a cool album, and I had no idea those riffs on that song were so intense to play! I think Tom's vocals across that album were some of his best, how he didn't blow out his vocal chords on the song Divine Intervention is beyond me. But seriously, so sick to see you cover this!
We need more of this videos
Great one! Just imagine having the skill and talent to just break down a tune like that in an hour or so. Amazing
Agreed. Ola breaks it down so well and so easily-and makes it fun.
It would take me years to learn all these techniques. Amazing work.
Another spectacular Ola production!
🤘🏾😈🎸🎶🎵❤️🔥
Love this kind of video,
DIvine Intervention is a classic in my book!
Honest play!
great selection
Love these videos Ola! I just recently picked back up my guitar. Been struggling, as fingers aren't as fast as they once were... was fun to see your struggles 😂 my right hand was aching just watching 😅
Cool to see in the comments I’m not the only one that this is their favorite Slayer album. When I heard Serenity in Murder and 213 I was hooked. I think their more groove mid tempo stuff is incredible. Devine, South of Heaven and Seasons in the Abyss !
My 3 favourites 🎯
This was fantastic. I've spent my life trying to learn from tabs and then getting frustrated that they're wrong. It never occurred to me to use Logic to slow it down. While it's easy enough to look up how to get a song into Logic from Spotify, etc would have been a useful tip to add. Thanks Ola! I'm inspired to go try it. Please do more of these.
It's comforting to know that Ola gets as frustrated as I do when figuring songs out 😅
finally a new ola learns. we need more of these!!
I love watching all the squirm on killer riff!!! we need more Ola learning killer riffs
Good job dude. More like this please. Definitely not a waste of time. 🤘💥🤘💥🤘💥
love these videos
Thanks for the lesson! 🤘
Divine Intervention! First time I heard Slayer as well! THE CHOICE IS MADE OF FREE WILL JUST LIKE THE CHOICE TO KILL!!!
Amazing Almunge when hitting the gym 💪🏻
You nailed it man. wow
Not waste of time for sure. Us mortals are wery happy to see you pro players also strugle 😀. Tack så mycket Ola! You rock.
Awesome 👍 I Love ❤️ it 🤘
I remember I had a VHS tape with the Dittohead video... used to watch it over and over again.... so heavy, yet you could hear every instrument so clearly ... I always loved that about SLAYER.
Love these types of videos as a beginner guitar player🤟
I love the channel guidelines for posting. Nothing says metal like being civil and respectful.
We need more from this series man
I love these series. It’s incredible how quick you get the notes. I’d like to suggest Ghost’s Kaisarion. I don’t know if you’re really into Ghost but in terms of guitar I think it’s a great piece.
Good shit , Mr. Ola the Swede !!! Reign in Blood album was my intro to Slayer but i'm actually glad you chose to go outside the box . Great song selection too !
That intro riff 30% slower is heavy AF. That's how it should have been recorded lol
If it was on Diabolus In Musica album it would sound like that i assume
I need to check this out 🤔
No
It's perfect the way it is. Leave the slow stuff for modern djenty "metal" and jump-around-core
@thrashefe3523 the last song point on diabolus soo heavy EMPTY ALL THE MAGAZINES LEATHEL SPRAYS FROM M16S POINT IS WERE ALLLLL FUUUUCKKIN DIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIEEEEEEEEE
always inspirational ... always fun :)
Ive seen and watched you play slayer songs 🤘😎. Love this
Thanks again for another awesome and fun video! Yes! I’m sure I can speak for many of us in saying, we definitely enjoy watching these videos. Where you openly and honestly attempt to learn songs in a very human fashion. It is not only motivating, but it is also very cool to see you step into other player’s shoes.
In my personal opinion, the more challenging and different the song is, from what you’re used to, the more entertaining and motivational your video will be.
My recommendation for you is Periphery’s Scarlet.
Being born in the 80s, all the music since has become part of my natural movement and bag. But, as I attempted Mark Holcomb’s style of riffing (prevalently displayed in Scarlet) I saw that there was a new approach to the guitar that I have not explored prior.
I hope you take the time to try that track. Regardless, I’ll be here supporting you for as long as you are making content. Health and happiness to you and you family mate!
Very enjoyable content!!!
Hi, ola.
Divine Intervention is my favorite album too! :)
My favorite riffs are Serenity in Murder.
An absolute beast of a song!
I never really paid attention to anything else but I always loved the way the guitar sounds on this album
Hell yeah! That was fun. Especially enjoy hearing you talk yourself through it. Maybe do a "Big 4" series? Or make it 5, by adding Exodus.
I remember learning this with Killing Fields & especially 213, when it was released; I was 30 😊 I think this was the best record of 94. The drums on Fictional Reality are great too! #ScavengersClosingIn
I would have leaned it in '64 because I just got a Maestro Fuzz tone and could finally get a Metal sound thru my National amp, 😇
As I mentioned in my comment above I was a bit younger but Killing Fields, 213, and Fictional Reality are the albums top 3 for sure. I had to edit this comment to add Divine Intervention as well. So I suppose this album cannot be reduced to only 3 best songs for me lol.
Killing Fields is awesome because of the 5/5 beat. I remember slapping some music professor with it who claimed that all rock was in 4/4.
@@chaptermasterpedrokantor1623 Ha! That's awesome.
When the Dahmer craze started last year with the TV shows, I kept thinking Slayer's management should have been more plugged in, because as I'm sure you know, 213 was his apartment number.
Love it!!
My favourite Slayer album.
It was the soundtrack to my high school years.
I took some lyrics from 213 and used them in an English project.
Great video man 👍🏻
I like this videos, where Ola learns something, so we can see, that he can struggle too and it’s not polished and perfect like many other UA-camrs, gives more natural and human feeling of Ola. Plus it’s always a way to see and trying something new for myself
Love this segment... please go for more old school stuff like Exodus or Municiple Waste 🤟🏻
great suggestions! Gary Holt is a monster though.
@@captainchaos8701 Gary Holt is a legend, both for Exodus and Slayer 🤟🏻
Deranged off of “pleasures of the flesh”. That would be a killer track to see Ola do.
@@Lefthandpath100 Man, that's a killer suggestion 🤟🏻
Love that album!!
great! my favourite Slayer album.
THAT was pretty cool! Glad to see the Warlock making an appearance.
I love this whole thing the ola learns a song and SLAYER. Killer choice
Awesome stuff!
Heavy AF! Love Slayer!!! Awesome job, man!
Same here , I'm just glad I got to see their farewell tour in the pit. It was a fitting way to see the final tour of the thrash god's!🤘
Love this!!!! Hell Yeah Ola!
That was pretty awsome man.
Much respect to you Ola, Divine intervention was an important album that got me into slayer too along with seasons in the abyss those two in my opinion was slayer at their peak!
Great video, I've often wondered how people learn tracks so perfectly when they need to learn a bands setlist..ie Gary Holt for Slayer, Per Nillson for Meshuggah, all the different Megadeth guitarists etc...Great track as well :)
Was awesome Ola
